    Time Square

i drove up there by myself (friends chickened out) in 99 for the "millenium". expect to be herded like cattle. feel free to moo, people seem to like that. the year i went, people in the buildings surrounding wherever i was had their stereo speakers in their windows. most were blasting "its the end of the world as we know it" by REM and other such themed songs. it was cool. being there alone, it was kinda boring until i went into a bar called McGee's Pub. i started getting hammered and met a couple of women. i am fairly certain they were hot. anyway, i ended up having a really, really good time. dont carry a wallet or let your GF carry her purse. keep money, CCs and valuables in your front jean pockets and usecommon sense. i had no incidents nor did i see anything too bad. when i was there, they had a large area around the square cordoned off into sections. each setion being basicaly a city block. and, they would put up saw horses behind you when the section was full. while in your pen, you can patronize any of the open businesses. expect to pay a cover charge anywhere you go. be nice to the cops there. they are the gatekeepers and hold all the keys. :D i bullshitted with one for 10minutes and he let the three of us into an adjoining section because it had an open restaurant. now that i think about it, perhaps it was not my charm that got us in. but, you are brining a date and not sourcing one locally, so you shoud be ok. i drove up the night before. i got lucky i guess, as i passed NYC and stopped in stamford, CT. there was a hotel there right near the commuter train. i had no problem getting a room in stamford.
  4. i dont think poorer people should be banned from the road for the convenience of those better off. the test, however, should have some teeth and place more emphasis on skill. i think a logbook, much like a pilots, handed out with the learners permit, to be completed prior to testing would be a good idea.
  5. i dig the Bridgstone OR/EOZ Radials.
  6. decptive advertising is putting a 5.0 badge on a car when you know 4.942 rounds to 4.9. :P
  7. bad circuit or a BCM. check the owners manual or post on a truck forum RE: checking BCM codes via the radio display.
  8. any 100 yr old car will be a "priceless classic". in fact, a 200 yr old k-car in good condition would be worth quite a bit more than a 100 yr old SRT8 in the same condition. plus, if it were not for the existence and success of the lowly k-car shitbox, you might not have an SRT8 to enjoy today. so take THAT ya big turd. :P * former and recovering Hemi-powered k-car owner. ** interesting fact: you can jump a 2.6L k-car over 60 feet on a gravel road, cave in the oilpan (reducing oil capacity by a quart) and experience many leak free miles afterwards. :D
  9. dumbasses. why not shuttle them in the exact vehicles they are attempting to market to this audience? no high schooler likes to ride the bus.
  10. and without any pics to boot! i prolly shouldnt, but i will. (click at your own risk)
  11. thanks! ive been lookin for that exactly. i even considered using "SKY" from an autoshow backdrop, but no dice. CSpec, thanks! dont know how i missed that pic. that might just werk, i guess it doesnt have to be exactly straight. :)
  12. im confused. is that a reply to someone or what you say before shaving your bits? :P EDIT: aw crap. you edited it! thats ok, im gonna put it back the way you had it.
  13. trusty google is teh suck for me on this. if anyone has a pic of the emblem i can use to finish my sig, i'd appreciate it. :) EDIT: or actually, just what font it is, if available, would work, too.
  14. find a crappy looking forum (like mine! ) and peddle your wares there.
  15. i remember a poorly timed ad. remember the first "jack's back" commercial from jack in the box? it was rather long and had jack telling the story of how he was forced out of his company (complete with footage of his head being blown off a JITB sign at a restaurant) and how he was now taking it back. it ended with him at the "JITB HQ" building which he promptly razed by hitting a switch. it was brilliant. it was, and still is, one of the few ads that i liked well enough to start patronizing the business to reward them for making such an excellent/entertaining ad. turns out, the food wasnt bad. :) unfortunately, a couple weeks after i first saw it, the fed building in oklahoma city was destroyed and they pulled the ad.
  16. um, what? "hey Joe, how bout when we get done bowling you come over and help me pull that big block out of the caprice?" "yeah, sure. you got beer there, right?" "oh yeah. when we get done, you think you could shave my back for me?" "no problemo. you want me to go down and into your crack, too?" "nah, i promised Jimmy." i can say with all honesty this has never occured to me. im guessing im not the target audience for this product.
  17. no, i meant that i need a front view to enter. is there a rule that says this question cant be answered? :P
  18. well, im still trying to work on it. i was gonna put it in the other section when im done since i cant enter it now. trying to figure out some things ive never done before so it really sux! :D also, is the link i posted the same pic?
  19. Small 2-seater? sky Coupe? Cobalt SS/S Sedan? Aura Wagon/Hatchback? um,no SUV? um, no Van? um, no Truck? 2wd colorado Used? already have one based my choices on the vehicle being a second car (a toy to be modified) and my budget.
  20. well, sure he was. whats your point? :P ah. well radials are quite large. in order to see above it mounted in front you would need the body to sit quite high. why not an allison or rolls-royce? they sound better anyway.
  21. ah. well, im out. my idea wont work with the rear pic.
