  1. -Work -Relax -Car shows -Beach with the girl -Maybe buy a motorcycle (guy I work with is selling one of his that I've liked for a while) -Hopefully get my '67 Eldorado a few months shop time while dad's '37 Packard Super Eight is out for an interior
  2. A scummy old '71 LeMans on Route 3 South last night; it was awesome! Wish it was mine.....
  3. You can get it for $50 at the GM Futurliner Restoration Project's website: http://www.futurliner.com/items.htm Now if only I had a spare $1845 kicking around to afford that 1:12th scale model at the bottom of tbhe page; now THAT is awesome!
  4. Proof positive that hood rats and white kids that wish they were hood rats need to be issued free lifetime bus passes.
  5. Maybe it rolled off the ship on its way in to be delivered
  6. Let the Omega rest. What ever happened to the Eldorado you found anyways?
  7. All awesome videos of amazing concept cars. Good to see that the fiberglass has held up well on both of the Bonneville Specials as early fiberglass is noted for failing; a friend of my father has restored a few Kaiser Darrins in his time and the starting points for all would have fallen apart if you looked at them the wrong way.
  8. White oak would look awesome with the orange. My father had a bright red 1952 Chevrolet pickup truck that he did over with a white oak bed floor and stainless steel strips between that looked fantastic. I'll see if I can find pictures for you.
  9. *bump* What's the latest?
  10. Once again, swivel buckets
  11. I'd take that door panel from the late 70's F-series over half the $h! shown in this thread. In particular, Rolls-Royce ought to be ashamed of themselves.
  12. Why are you citing having an automatic as the reason for not buying the diesel Datsun when you have a spare manual five-speed car in your side yard? Buy it and swap transmissions. And yeah, that '49 Cadillac is pretty horrendous. Some people don't realize that one of the reasons Hot Wheels exist is so we can spend a buck and see how $h!ty something will be in miniature so that we don't go out and spend thousands trying to do it to the real thing.
  13. The only problem I have with emo kids cutting themselves is that they don't do it deep enough. They need to stop whoring for attention and either $h! or get off the pot. Finish the deed or suck it up like normal people do.
  14. Unless this hospital's different from every other hospital in the free world, some remotely edible food might do the old man a world of good.
  15. I rode in a car seat in mom's baby blue '79 when I was very very young; other than that I have no Monte Carlo experience to speak of whatsoever. A guy I work with used to own a '70 and a '72, but that was back in the early 80's when they were just cheap used cars.

    ATTN: Bobo

The fact that Cadillac tried to pass off a botched abortion of a dolled up Chevrolet Nova as one of these: Sorry, but I'd much rather take the '26 or '32 in TRUE opera coupe form than a '79 with the rear half of the passenger compartment sliced out. But I guess Huggy Bear and Liberace needed cars too.....
  17. Saw a yellow 1974-1975ish Mercury Marquis sedan and an Acura NSX. It hurt much more to see the mighty Mercury being exposed to the salt and $h! than that stupid ass Honda.
  18. Ditto. Here are the following V8's I've owned/currently own: Cadillac 472 ('71 Coupe DeVille) Cadillac 429 ('67 Eldorado) Cadillac 425 ('79 Coupe DeVille) Oldsmobile 350 ('77 Cutlass Supreme) Ford 460 ('74 Lincoln Continental limousine) As you can see, not only do I not mind V8's, but I am a solid member of the 400+ cubic inch club, with my '77 Cutlass Supreme sedan being the "economical" member of the bunch at a trim 350. If worse comes to worse and gas prices go through the roof then I'll just ride around in some $h!ty old four banger J-body during the week and let the good stuff come out during the summer and weekends. Having toys is frivolous as-is, so associated fuel costs don't mean anything because practicality has already been thrown out the window. Long live V8's!
  19. *bump* Any updates? Know what year it is yet? I'm excited about the find!
  20. Absolutely true. Living in New England all my life, I can second that through personal experience. Personally I think people that buy front wheel drive vehicles sometimes get fooled into a false sense of security because they think they can do 60 on a sheet of ice and then wonder why the steering wheel turns but the car goes straight whereas rear wheel drive on snow and ice keeps a person on their toes more. My father's driven rear wheel drive cars and 2WD pickup trucks through the New England winters for thirty years. And as for driving "high power" RWD cars in snow, it can be done with ease. There's a guy that comes to work all the time that owns the 13th GTO off the line in the new production run like yours that drives his every day, year-round, as well as a few other GTOs like yours in the area that do the same. There's also a kid at school that drives his '02 Corvette year-round with ease; it makes me smile to see the thing all caked with salt and $h! while there are other people out there that think precipitation = death and can't handle so much as a Corolla on the snow. Just be cautious of those around you, keep safe distances, and be a little bit ginger with the gas pedal and you should be fine. A good set of snow tires will do a world of good as well.
  21. Let me know when you have it positively identified and show some pictures if possible!
  22. Ways to tell the year for sure: -Top of the nose at the base of the windshield: '67 has five chrome vents and exposed windshield wipers, '68 has just a solid body color piece here and hidden wipers. -Front fenders: '67 has a filler piece, '68 has big turn signals in the front fenders where the filler piece should go. -Front bumper: because of the aforementioned filler piece, a '67 will have turn signals in the front bumper whereas a '68 will have a smooth front bumper. -Sideview mirrors: '67 was the last year for round sideviews on a Cadillac, '68 began the use of the square mirrors with the Cadillac script that continued until the early 90's. -Rear quarter panels: '67 has solid rear quarters, '68 has a round sidemarker light in the side with a Cadillac crest over it. -Powerplant: '67 is the last year for the 429, '68 will have a 472. This picture of my '67 will help you to identify any of these differences. And yes, those ARE 1968-1970 turn signals in the front fenders, but I want to make it clear that they are there out of a matter of personal preference and what SHOULD be there is a body color filler piece (which I also have). I opted to add the turn signals because I think the fillers make the car look unfinished. Do yourself a favor and check the A-pillars of the car for rot as that is one of the first areas to go on these cars and is VERY expensive and time-consuming to fix. I hope all goes well and I hope you're able to end up with it; it'd be nice to be able to bounce things off of another owner during our restorations. Good luck!
  23. A guy's been coming to work a lot recently to buy stuff for his '67 Plymouth GTX and we've been talking about how close he's getting to being done with its restoration. Well, today he finally pulled up with it and let me look it over; what a sweet car it is! Blue with black stripes, a black vinyl top and black leather interior. It has a 440 with a Hurst 4-speed and a ton of other goodies. Wish I was able to get a picture.....
  24. No way, antique fire engines are an awesome choice, and Studebaker used to make some of the sharpest trucks going! I've always wanted an antique fire engine to restore, if nothing else but so I could tell people I owned a classic convertible and then pull up in something like this 1923 American LaFrance: Blood red with intricate gold leaf, mahogany hose beds and brass pump valves, nickel-plated this and copper-plated that is a look that can never and will never be topped by anything; antique fire engines are the coolest!
  25. Easily the coolest thing I've seen in my life. That guy is the man!
