  1. Tehachapi (yes, there is a Tehachapi)
  2. I KNEW that if you were next, that's what a person from the Iberian Peninsula would say. Response to thread: Barcelona
  3. I'll add that one to the collection. Here's another often quoted one. Q: What do you call 5,000 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean? A: A good start.
  4. I don't like the idea of the flush. I have always used "drop and drain," but do it every 20,000 to 25,000 miles, regardless of how hard the driving has been. With that kind of frequency, I thus far have 256,000 miles on the original trans. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
  5. acquired taste
  6. Buona fortuna Bon chance Buena suerte Boa sorte How the hell do you say Good Luck in Deutsch? Sorry, no German flag icon on the site. Yeah, I have a gnawing feeling in my stomach about GM as well. Will you like living over there? I guess you probably identify as more European than you do American. I wish you the best. I'm sure you'll always have one foot in the U.S.

  14. Nice to hear you're driving a GP. They have turned out to be reliable and the Series III 3800 is a good powerplant. Again, my 2 favorite automotive brands in one decade - Olds in 2000 and Pontiac in 2009. Very sad. I was more saddened by the Oldsmobile announcement since I had owned 2 Cutlass Supremes and was in love with the Intrigue, thinking it would be my next car. However, I am also saddened by Pontiac as I have been pawing their windows and sitting in them at dealerships since I was a teenager...and renting them since I graduated from college. Since I don't plan to buy a car for a while, I'm taking a "wait and see" attitude and feel kind of ambivalent to GM at this point. Nothing in their slate of offerings enthuses me, though I plan on remaining loyal.
  15. Have a great birthday!

  17. Hey, are you sure you don't want that silver LaCrosse in the background? :AH-HA_wink:
  18. Probably what you don't want to hear - I've heard the flushes are not good. I use the drop/drain fluid/filter method. So what if they don't get all the fluid out? Just do it more often, with that same method. Make damn sure you are vigilant about a warranty on this kind of work - 3 years is now the standard for overhauled transmissions. Stick to the stock trans. Don't switch.
  19. No. Not really. While I am always scouting for deals (see ocn's comments on how cheap I am), I still keep my quasi-absurd maintenace schedule (oil changes every 2,500, trans fluid every 20,000 and tune-ups every 30,000 to 40,000, regardless of fluid color or spark plug condition) for the Regal. In fact, tomorrow AM it gets its oil changed. I feel that I'm economizing by stretching out the car's longevity.
