  1. Happy birthday, JLGolden, who is in Houston, from what I recall.
  2. Well, I know what I DON'T have and EXPECTED to have: The LaCrosse does not give instantaneous MPG. Maybe it was changed for 2008, because 2006s and 2007s I've rented, per my recollection, had the instantaneous readout. So I was expecting it. I still have average MPG and range, though. The GPs and MCs I've rented have it, and the MCs in 3.5 V6 base form show fantastic instantaneous MPG under some driving conditions. Maybe Buick deemed it as too distracting.
  3. Answer the multiple choice questions and it kicks out the city that is best suited for you... Link to Blogthings - American city that's a best fit for you Then there's another one...it's which city you are most like... Link to Blogthings - American city you are most like I've got a problem here. As for the city that's a best fit, I took this quiz (#1) and manipulated the 3 questions which I'm "on the fence" about and still get: 1) Atlanta (duh...I lived there and loved it) 2) Honolulu (no interest in living in Hawaii) 3) Las Vegas (eh...for a weekend) 4) Miami (like the area a lot) 5) Austin (don't know much about it, but I've heard good things) As for the city that's most like me, this quiz (#2) gives only one answer, and it said: 1) Boston (based on their criteria, I could see that) What answers do you get?
  4. The Eisenhower era
  5. ? e uma cidade universitaria perto de Denver e perto das montanas onde tem muita gente estranha: os granolas Response to thread: Rocket V8
  6. I changed planes in PHX on my way to NC in February. I was looking out over the massive PHX metro area as we approached and thought "hmm..."Moltie" is down there somewhere." It's definitely not for me. Sure, who doesn't like a mission-tiled sprawling stucco 1-story home with a pool in the back, preferably on a promontory with some view? I have a friend who lives there who "summers" in Flagstaff to get away from the heat. Actually, my Ambien is working again. It was only pulling me through 3 or 4 am. Now, with a major milestone/project behind me, it takes me until the alarm clock rings. I know how it feels...
  7. Boulder granolas
  8. My interest in GM, and the site, has to do with my loyalty to the brand...and to the site. I've had exceptional cars from the General and I've had a lot of good laughs on C&G. That being said, if I was in the market right now, it would be a 2010 Mercury Milan or a 2010 Ford Taurus. That makes me sad. There is NOTHING in the GM fold I would buy. Blame: (1) bad decisions in the 1980s and bad quality control (past tense) (2) poor cost control and looming overhead issues and (3) MOST OF ALL: the CamCord crowd who bought foreign iron and never gave American cars another look, save an SUV/truck here or there...in some cases, partly because it wasn't cool in their area (coastal Calif, Colorado, etc.) to drive an American car...you got the EEEEWWW factor. Camino, don't throw in the towel completely. But, still, I know how you feel...
  9. I bet the rental rates won't be the most favorable....at least early on.... They get a little bit more coin out of people to have that Mustang convertible in SoCal or Fla for a week.
  10. I've been feeling kind of apathetic lately. My job is "just there." I live for the weekend when I can sleep in and then go out and do stuff or take a day trip. Right now, my trip to 2-week trip to Europe in early July is keeping me going. Why this sentiment? -Recession seems too prolonged -Friends have lost jobs and/or getting weirder with their own problems -Lost some money in my 401 that was in WAMU (not a lot, but still) - that bank has been a "staple," is at every major intersection, and made me my townhome loan in a Seattle suburb -Chrysler bankruptcy -Pontiac elimination -GM uncertainty Does it all seem like TOO much? How are you holding up?

  19. Hey, folks, the Regal turned 17 today. It's got 255,736 miles. It's now "legal" to watch R-rate movies. With 44,000 extra miles needed, I will keep it to try to make 300,000 miles for the hell of it. It's going to the car wash, before it gets too hot here today. Now, if you DON'T OFFEND too easily, here's a clip the car "can watch," so you can too - kind of in the same spirit as the "flying dildo" clip. Funniest thing I've EVER seen: Link to Your Daily Media
