  1. I don't get you guys...I must be on the wrong car site. Seems you all want more HP, AWD(or at least RWD), manual trans, and killer looks. Yet you completely toss aside the idea of a Forester STi? Okay so the thing isn't the best looker out of the box (it almost is a box), but I for one applaud Subaru for going this direction to build some excitement for the brand. I've also seen some tricked out Foresters, and must admit they look mean! So now we have an opportunity to have a vehicle that has good HP from the turbo 4, AWD, a manual trans, and arguably good looks...oh yeah and now you can actually tote around your kids comfortably and fit plenty of groceries, strollers, etc to boot. Go Subaru!
  2. What about a Concept Camaro Convertible...Its bound to happen, but probably won't be for another year or so.
  3. This actually makes me excited about the Malibu. Guess it clears up all the confusion in the spied Malibu thread from a few months back. Knowing that it will be larger and newly styled gives me yet another GM option when I buy next year.
  4. Up above the Malibu Maxx was mentioned...I know it is leaving us soon. However, I wish there were more options in the GM lineup for sporty wagons. I need more space for my family, but refuse to drive an SUV. Don't get me wrong, my wife has an Envoy and it is great. But I just like a nice handling car versus an taller vehicle such as the Equinox and larger SUVs. I was happy when Subaru was part of the GM family, but now all I'm left with is the 9-3 and 9-5 sportcombis...(read: poor reliability/small and too expensive respectively).
  5. I agree that the athletes (of any race really) help to set trends that trickle down to the automotive enthusiasts. I suppose you can add celebs to that as well. Look what Snoop Dogg and NBA stars have done for the image of the 300C. This has to be one of the most popular cars among black and latino buyers looking for the bling...and the Charger is hot on its heels. While I can envision the Lucerne fitting into this crowd, especially with the newly unveiled SEMA cars, will it alienate their core audience of people over 50? How will Buick strike the balance and be able to market to such opposite people? Lucerne and Enclave for the young and hip(but also the most expensive in the lineup), while the LaCrosse is for the senior citizens? And taking this even bigger picture...Cadillac has already been targeting a younger affluent crowd and Pontiac is the sports car brand(in theory). Chevy is more low end and mass market, Saturn trying for more European alongside Saab. Hummer and GMC are pure trucks/crossover based. Taking Buick in this direction leaves the seniors knocking on Toyota's(Lexus) doors IMO
  6. I'd like to see the new 6-speed A/T across the range on all V6 and V8 vehicles. Heck even a 5-speed for the 4 cyls, would at least get GM with the times...
  7. They are referring to the wheel well gap...apparently being able to stick anything larger than 3" between the tire and fender is too much for these folks. I too love a lowered vehicle and minimal wheel well gap, but calling this a "lift kit" is just plain stupidity. I think they're smokin' something! I would like to add that its a rendition folks, criticism should be reserved for the unveiling of the final product in the flesh(or at least a real picture). If this isn't a rendition, then someone needs to fill the tires with some air and take the Cadillac grill off the lower rear valance.
  8. You haven't noticed the new Lexus colors then...Those metallics are HOT!!!
  9. I can't believe you can call adding 20+ inch chrome rims original...Original would mean you actually did some different and unique(you know, never done before). Maybe original in that I may not have seen the exact same chrome rim on 2 different cars, but its still a big chrome rim. Not to mention the larger the wheel, the higher off the ground your 4x4...er I mean Buick...is!
  10. More Lucernes HERE Pictures from Autoweek website. Does not feature all 11, but provides some larger and more detailed pictures, including some from the back and showing off the custom stereo equipment.
  11. MIght as well give it the white wall with the gold stripe then...Oh and don't forget the faux top and gold emblems... White-wall tires aren't "classy", their just plain outdated. Classy would be red-line tires, like our old Hot Wheels!
  12. I like how the lower side sills tie in the fender vent. Rim choice could have been cooler, these actually make the wheels look smaller than factory. I stand by my opinion that rim choice can make or break any car. The front end design/shape is okay, but they need to close up the openings better, tighter mesh or something so that I can't see thru to everything back there. Seeing the Intercooler is excellent, but anything else looks unfinished to me.
  13. I don't like it...they should have painted the inside of the headlight housings baby blue as well. The chrome throws off the entire design! Holy Papa Smurf!! It does look like a photoshop, but reality ain't gonna make it look any nicer...
  14. Looks like the body kit is definitely a done deal since there were multiple cars with the same one...(like the Concept 1 above). Personally I like the signature series body kit the most minus all the decals and drop the back end just a bit more. Rims could be cooler. I'd also LOVE to know more about the spoiler on the CST model. And what about the details on these cars?...Engine upgrades, suspension treatment, what all was done aside from visual and whose components are they? Funny I've never been a fan of chrome, but for the few that blacked out the frames of the side windows, they seemed to have cheapened the car. I'm rather disappointed in the colors, wheel selections, and overall packages these companies have put out. As mentioned above, it will stir up some interest and get people talking, but is it the right people and are they having the right conversation to increase the sales of the Lucerne and put Buick where it wants to be? My opinion is NO! However I am personally interested in the Lucerne for my own vehicle and have had some 'concepts' of my own that I would like to put into place. Of course I'm biased, but I think mine would out-cool AND out-class all of these. Guess time will tell if I end up purchasing and get the opportunity to do it.
  15. I'm sure the actual car will not be this low to the ground. Those artist renditions are usually a bit out of touch with reality. The highlights states it dropped the car 2.25 inches which is a pretty decent drop overall, but the Lucerne sure had it to give. Combined with the 20" rims though it will be close. Just don't think the back wheel will be so tucked under.
  16. Pretty much what I predicted in the other thread. The center exhaust is a surprise though. Guess they were going for the XLR/Corvette feel. IMO, could have chose better rims but maybe they will be nicer in real photos. Razzi was the creator of the ground effects for one of last year's SEMA Avalons. I like the front and side, but would prefer a traditional dual exhaust farther to the corners.
  17. I get a very Toyota Camry vibe from this angle... What a wierd looking hump...
  18. If the bottom half of the dash in this model would have been tan also it would have made sense to end the center stack where it is. However since the dark brown continued on the bottom half of the dash (under the marble), then it really does make the center stack color change look out of place. My opinion would be to have the tan outline the entire stack to make it 'pop' off the rest of the dash and really highlight it as the command center for the vehicle.
  19. I know you guys are tough critics because you want to see GM do well, but give it a break. Not every car needs to be designed to appeal to the masses and be bland. I applaud this effort and think it all works well together. I love the marble and would take it over cheesy fake-ass 'wood' anyday. Honestly I can't believe this hasn't caught on sooner. The dark brown seats and dash are soooo much classier than the morrocan brown in the Aura. The tufting is a nice touch to exude elegance, but maybe they should have been slightly smaller cross-sections. Overall definitely takes the SRX up a notch for luxury. My only gripe is that this is considered a "Sport" model. Doesn't seem to fit the treatment given.
  20. I'm with Siegen, I'm still not convinced this is an Altima coupe. Makes absolutely no sense to have a car that is so similarly looking as the 350Z in the same dealerships. My first guess would be simply that this is a facelifted version of the 350Z. Unless I missed reading it somewhere, where did it ever say the car in the pictures was FWD? Besides the credibility of the original poster in the Car & Driver forum is questionable. He was a brand new member and it was his first post. Sounds more like an average person walking down the street past a photo shoot at the credit union and snapped off some pics from his cell phone. Unless he was part of the film crew. With that being said, If you are all convinced this is really a FWD Altima coupe, then my only explanation would be that since the Skyline is coming as a Nissan in what '08/'09(?), then they would use the successful styling of the 350Z as a new Altima Coupe to keep sales up. The Skyline therefore would then eliminate the current 350Z. Which would then also mean that the Skyline would not be priced too far out of reach (read: similar to base Corvette), as not to impose on Infiniti territory.
  21. If this were shown in a monotone color, say blue or orange, I bet it wouldn't be so bad. I'd like to see it without the paint job and the doors closed.
  22. Corvette Super Car or High output Impala SS by Jon Moss?
  23. So what's the officially timeline of GM's expectations to unveil this?
  24. The link in the first post didn't work anymore. Says the video was removed due to copyright infringement.
