On one of the local Youngstown TV stations saying that Lordstown has the Cobalt. But what one of the stations was saying that it will be getting a new name. Also they had a spy video of the car but this was on the o’clock news and is not on there website yet. It was also on one of the other local website http://www.wfmj.com/Global/story.asp?S=8287412 here. The video looked like a car a little smaller then the cobalt of today. This also maybe the Gamma format and a completely different car.

Just saw this and though what every one though about it. There is another round of buyouts coming around. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20071218/bs_nm/gm_buyouts_dc_3 I was hoping they would be smart and try to get more of the younger people out but that is just me.

I have heard two different things from people out there. One is that the plant is closing in mid 2009. The other thing is that they are getting 2 different cars. As I say I do not know what is real and just rumors. The closing is coming from people I know in management the 2 cars is coming from skilled trade people.

From what I under stand from some of the people out at Lordstown is that the 2009 MY is the last year of this Cobalt design. It is do to new safety rules by the government. And they are not getting the Astra at all.

There was 1 at the Lordstown car show but do not know if anyone got pics that have been posted on line.

To let every one know the car that they had was one of the markups. Not the one of the full ones. IT even had to be keep inside so not to melt. It did still get to see what the outside looks like and it looked good. And you did get a hint that it is a nice size.

Any one that wants to see the Volt it will be at the Lordstown plant car show on the June 30. It is open to the public. I hope that this is a way to hint that Lordstown maybe getting the Volt.

I can say one thing people I know that work at Lorsdtown still do not know what is going on with the Coblat.

Two things I would think and hope about this. One could this be the Cobalt replacement? Or at least maybe something like that in look. Two is the how far you can go with out the gas engine running. If that was 80 miles not 40 miles I think it would be better and even get more people looking at it. Or maybe having an ability to get a larger battery as an option. But they need to built it.

I know some people that work there. Reuters had it wrong they worked all of 2nd shift. But then that is Reuters for you.

Yes they send the G4 to Mexico.

From what I have started to hear it will be like the Pursuit/G4 but may have a different hood and may be a coupe only. If it is coming out we should find out more in the next few weeks.

Any one hear anything about a Pontiac G5? The Shop chairman for the local UAW at the Lordstown plant said something about it. All that was said is that it will be an 07 and for the US market. This was all said in a public area so I hope this is ok to talk about.

It took Lordstown something over a year or two to get up to full capacity with the '95 Cavaler. Also they are not runing at the same speed now that they ran then. Also there new paint shop is not up and running at 100% yet.

Something they put on at Lordstown do not know why. I thought it was to keep the emblem from being damaged. Also something I see when I drive pass the shiping lot there. Also a fast way to tell then from the Cobalts.

Something to think about the new Saturn Ion wil be coming out in my08. That is also the year Lordstown maybe geting the Ion. So what if the Ion will have an AWD and to help on cost put it in more then one car.

I like it but they need more 2 tones not just the SSR. Add it to the HHR and Cobalt.

I hope this works until I can make a better one. Also missed this site a lot.
