The Intrepid Project
It is fun and rewarding to do it myself. I think I would have better luck hauling one out of the junkyard.

The Intrepid Project
Today's Project: Replace the inner tie rod bushings. Took a few hours but they're done! It feels good to do it myself. Really wasn't hard besides those tabs. Couldn't find my big screwdriver so I improvised with a small one, a big file, and a rubber mallet. Can you guess which bushing is the bad one? It was so bad that the tie rod could move freely with my hand jiggling it. I had to turn the wheel to get the bolts to line back up again with the new ones in. The other one wasn't nearly as rotted out, but it was cracking, and I figured since I had the parts I'd do them both. I bought the Moog ply bushing kit Part No. K7408 instead of the NAPA kit because: I've heard good things about Moog Made in USA Limited Lifetime Warranty Poly bushings VS rubber Cost $1 less than the NAPA kit Got the kit plus a 19mm deep socket for $15.48 thanks to that $10 off coupon. Moog kit: Installed! The bad one: Took it for a drive around the neighborhood and WOW what a difference. No more clunking, the steering feels much tighter and teh wheel returns with ought me having to help it. Tomorrow morning I'll take to the shop to have it aligned.

I'm all for knight getting a bird, although I think he should finish up the Cutlass first, but he just needs to start with something that isn't such...junk. No hard feelings bro, but think of this thread as the decedent of our dearly departed EXCITEMENT!!!!!! thread.

How about using the money to finish up the Cutlass and the Regal instead of what can only be described as a money pit and scrap.

PS3 (GT5) or XBOX 360 (Forza 3)?
I think GT5 will be the more complete game, with more cars, better physics, more varied racing, and better graphics, when it comes out in 2035 or so.

I've seen that feature on other forums. It designed to limit post whoring by people don't just put all of the responses/comments in one reply and instead make 9 separate posts.

The first two issues are related to the server, which has a conflict somewhere and we haven't found it yet. The best I can do is reset the server when it gets real slow or stops (which apparently I have to do now) until we find the problem and fix it. The ignore thing I'm not sure about though.

I went back and dialed back some of the contrast on the hood to show more details. I "think" this is the one I want for the calendar.

Incredibly Stupid Designs of the Mundane
Since LH was brought up I'll throw a couple more in there: Battery is mounted in the fender of second gen LH cars. The recommended way to get the battery out is to take off the damn wheel and the forward section of the fender liner. You can get it out by taking the air filter box out and lifting the battery out. It's a tight squeeze but it can be done (I did it). 2.7 engines have a chain driven after pump that when it fails it leaks coolant into the crank case. Chrysler redesigned the pump and chain kit to fix the problem but you have to buy the whole kit (which is damn expensive) and replace everything (guides and such). Any company that uses rivets instead of bolts for the window regulators.
