LeftLane News: Cadillac DT7 Flagship Sedan To Be Based On FWD Platform.
Intrepidation replied to cire's topic in Cadillac
A few points: The 7 is no better. The 7 series borders on bland with a few bits of odd quirks thrown in (the huge grill that doesn't have any relationship to the headlights...it looks like it was just thrown on there, and the Korean style tail lights). The A8, well I haven't seen it so I can't judge. The LS is handsome enough but it's not bold, or beautiful. The S is handsome besides the Maybach rear end...even after all this time I still don't like it. I wouldn't call it beautiful. The XF...I liked it when it first came out but I'm already bored with it, whereas I still find the XK beautiful. Now, I agree completely that the Sixteen could use an update, in fact with all this talk I may try my hand at a chop. However, I feel you're being overly critical of it, especially when you look at the competition listed. On the other hand, I've always felt the would slot up more towards Phantom/Arnage/Maybach territory. Of those three, 2 are more than dated, "timeless" if you will. The Interior of the Phantom is very blocky and dated looking. The Maybach looks like an bigger, fatter, uglier S-Class. I don't feel that the Sixteen as horribly dated, I just feel it's showing it's age a bit, and that's only because of Cadillac's recent concepts and the CTS, not because of the competition. I feel that with a front end more like the CTS would cure my on real gripe with the car. The interior? It could be made to look more techy, but I do like the old-world look it has right now. So long as the features and quality are there I'd have no problem with it. turbo, I'm not sure why we are butting heads lately but I just want to let you know it's nothing personal, we just happen to be disagreeing (while agreeing at the same time in this case) on styling lately. -
Cool, thanks. I added the link to the initial post.

New Oakland Toyota/Scion megadealer closes after two months
Intrepidation replied to Intrepidation's topic in Industry News
I don't get why it's tagged as a Toyota/Scion dealership, yet all of the funding only came from Nissan. -
New Oakland Toyota/Scion megadealer closes after two months Just two months after opening the doors to its brand-new, 200,000-square-foot dealership, Superior Toyota/Scion of Oakland is no more. The giant automotive retailer, with more than 40 service bays and as many as 1,200 cars on the lot at a time, closed last week after Nissan pointed at the economy and then pulled Superior's financing (although the dealer sold Toyota and Scion products, Nissan provided the loan for the new $36 million building). Without credit, the Superior Auto Group dealership was unable to do business. "I can't buy any more cars. Can't sell anything. The cars are still on the lot, but Nissan owns them now," said owner Michael Kahn. The megastore in Oakland wasn't the only one to go dark. All told, Superior Auto Group closed nearly a dozen sister dealerships throughout California last week. Thanks for the tip CPT! Autoblog

Don't go backing into anything or letting things back into it. -
Despite the fact that they are wasting our money, part of me wants to see the fail...justice if you will, for screwing people over for quite some time now. It's not like the money we've given them has helped at all.

Amazingly, I can come to an agreement with you, although I can do you 1 or more better. Where I live 12" snow storms are business as usual. In fact we just got 15" from last night's storm. RWD cars are everywhere, including ours. -

I thought it was a wagon? Cool nonetheless. Break out the sawzall! and put it on an S-10 frame. -

Meh, the standard tires on the GM were $h!..almost bald. So we went with snow tires for the back since it's well, winter. -
Looks very professional NOS!

It's not penis waving, it's having a brain and some common sense. -

Too bad people are stupid and don't realize RWD works just fine in the winter. -

It doesn't ,matter, the Zeta platform is as good as anything the Germans have, or have you neglected to read reviews of the G8? it could very easily be made more premium and built for premium cars, just like a Camry platform can be, only this platform is 1000x better. -

You forgot to check your facts again. Zeta was originally developed as a premium platform. The one the G8 and Camaro use is Zeta Light I think they call it, a less expensive version. The Cadillac Zeta would have used things like aluminum suspension bits. -
This isn't the next Impala is it? I doubt it.

I would never say any Lexus had anything over the Sixteen, that's just going too far. However, adding some front end and side detailing like the CTS and Converj would bring it back up to date. -
This is funny that you make an excuse for interior rattles for this car but by gods you'll nitpick away at the CTS' interior, and nitpick many others (except for the E-Class of course). I guess auto reviews (I think it was Autoblog, but I'll have to check) are Unverified sources now? Also, the VXR I mentioned is not an American spec model with an American spec powertrain, last I checked, and I mentioned that being a problem with the chassis. I supposes a torque steering, understeering car is class-leading now? Like I said before, I like the car, but it is not class leading. Anyway, my point through all this is GME hasn't had home run after home run after home run, which you seemed to imply earlier.

Saw the new Lacrosse today and I was very impressed
Intrepidation replied to hyperv6's topic in Buick
Well, for one it's been very well reviewed as being one of the best in class. When was the last Buick to be that well reviewed? When I was at the auto show in December a lot of people were looking at it, and I know at least one couple in their 30's were talking to a rep about pricing and options, and that they were interested in buying one. Most Enclaves I see are driven by younger (30's - 40's) people, as opposed to LaCrosses and Lucerenes which I usually see older folks driving (along with most other Buicks in recent history). Maybe wonders was a bit of a stretch? I dunno, but it's done a hell of a lot more for Buick than anything else in the past 20+ years outside of the GN. -

I don't know about that, the Enclave has done wonders for Buick's image, all Buick needs now is a good car, and this looks to be it. Oh and actual advertising.
