  1. If you think things have been tough for General Motors in America, you should see how bad it's going for them in Japan. Forget pulling out of the Tokyo Motor Show, we're talking a steady sales decline over the past decade that has brought volume to just 2,000 units a year from a high of 50,000 in 1996. That really sucks, so GM wants to try and change things ASAP. They have announced a modest goal of doubling sales in Japan over the next three years. Part of the problem with Japanese sales is image, but product selection and a shrinking dealer network are also to blame. Rick Brown, president of GM Japan, says they plan to address those issues by adding a couple of dealerships a year, and by shaking up the product mix. They plan to start selling the Chevy Aveo, the new 2010 Camaro, and despite the struggling economy, some new luxury cars and SUVs like the Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon, Saab 9-3X, 9-4X and 9-5. Even though those products might help, it might be a case of too little too late. Japanese buyers might be even more hesitant than usual to buy cars from the Detroit 3 because of bankruptcy fears. It's not like Ford and Chrysler are doing any better in Japan either, with similar sales declines over the pact ten years. Heck, they aren't even buying as many domestic cars these days. 2. Ok, that's great...when did I imply my car was better? You don't always have to try explain how your car is better every time you get a new one, it's gets old...and annoying. (and that's the way it comes off, even if it wasn't your intent)
  3. Build a budget desktop. $800 for Jessica's new desktop in September is superior to my $2k desktop I built a few years back. Of course paying that much then means it's no slouch now and still better than a lot of what you can buy, but a new video card is in order. But I digress. I like laptops, but not enough to choose one over a desktop. My brother paid $600 for his and while it's fine for school it's no gaming machine. Requires low settings just to play FFXI lag free.
  4. First Production Camaro goes for $350,000 One of Barrett-Jackson's most anticipated auctions this year was the first retail production Chevrolet Camaro, which sold for $350,000 and all proceeds will go to the American Heart Association. This it people, the Camaro is just weeks from hitting the dealerships! Follow the jump to read get all of the details of the Camaro's auction. http://www.cheersandgears.com/index.php?sh...c=27782&hl=
  5. Well there is this one guy who works at a NAPA in Lowell (or he did) that seemed to know his stuff.
  6. I hope the winner garages it and then buys a 2nd to drive the wheels off with.
  7. It's been a good, real winter so far, we've had above normal snow amounts. Right now ths storm is expected to give us 6-8 inches (up from 3-6) with another 1-3 possible overnight and into Monday.
  8. I could see that logic, the only problem in this case is that the Torrent seats 5 with less interior room than the G8, and the G8 has a giant trunk.
  9. This alone is enough reason to get the Century and never look back.
  10. We tend to have soft spots for cars we own.
  11. If it makes you feel better I complain about it regardless of the year.
  12. See I guess I'm lucky, the people at the places I go to either know what they are talking about or look it up properly.
  13. That sucks, Sears is one of the few places that still sells a good selection of Made in USA tools.
  14. I like AutoZone and C.A.P.
  15. She knows more than me, so go with that.
  16. Yes but exactly how much will that cost you? Yes you can, they will be around, and even the expensive ones, most go for about the price of a new car (with some exceptions). That's poor suspension tuning. The truely great cars, like the G8, and CTS can handle well and ride well. I was using the weight of those two cars because I don't remember the exact weight of the Caddy, I just know it was a lot and more than both of those cars. Intrepids are not some hybrid of two compacts. And yes it is a valid comparison because they were both sold as full-size cars. By that logic I could stuff a V8 and suspension mods into the Intrepid (it's been done) and then smoke the Cadillac. You can't compare with modding because the possibilities are ENDLESS. The Cadillac could be modded with enough money to make 1000 hp, so could the Intrepid, and be converted to RWD.
  17. Now that''s cool. I like how they put the license plate bracket on the opposite side of the exhausts and shaped it the same. That's attention to detail.
  18. Agreed.
  19. Century.
  20. Well then don't complain about piss poor fuel economy.
  21. There's no dipstick for the tranny? That is just weird. But yes, while I don't know if that would help your particular problem, the filter and fluid should be changed, because the dirty filter will just contaminate the fluid.
  22. Genius, most automakers make concepts all the time they never build, it isn't just Chrysler. They are working on the EVs for production. DO you see anyone else out with a production EV? No? Didn't think so. You do not know what they will or will not build. It is certainly a possibility this car could see production, as it's based on a real platform. Please, think before shooting your mouth off. kthxbai
