Saturday afternoon, I stopped to get gas before I left town for Freeport IL to see some friends for dinner. The gallons (after almost a week of driving) was 7.729 for $17.00. On the way back home late Saturday night, I thought about getting gas, but decided I'd just get gas today (Sunday) after I did some running around. So, today, I stopped at Walmart, stopped at a no-touch car wash to get the '87 MC LS washed, drove a bit to help dry it off a bit more, then stopped for gas. After I got back home and started inputting the figures into my "gas book", I was stunned to discover that the gallons and dollar amount were exactly the same as yesterday's ... 7.729 gallons for $17.00. And, no, I didn't stop it at $17 on purpose. As much as I keep track of facts and figures, I have never remembered what the dollar amount and gallons were from fill up to fill up, regardless of the time between fillups. Gas mileage was NOT the same, of course, since Sunday's fill-up came after a road trip of sorts (lots of highway driving) and the previous fill-up came after a week (rather, "mini" week) of driving back'n'forth to work.... Anyone else happen to get the same amount of gallons and dollar amount on back-to-back fill-ups? AMEN! The themes to TV shows of the past had a character all of their own, too. The second the tune began, you knew what it was ... whether you heard it on radio or TV. These days, the themes seem (well, at least to me) to "blend in" ... and sound the same.... *shrugs* He he he...yes those "idiosyncrises" are so fun to see . Congrats on the job, a-r . Oh my yes ... summer maintenance for the Elgin School District U-46. One of the chaps I worked with had a red '77 MC with swivel bucket seats. How could I NOT remember that? So, did you check? Very true, but then, FWD is not me at all ... and I'd just end up hating the car. In which case, I should just pick up an '06 Lumina...2 or 4 door version. *sighs* As for those two 74s ... thanks so much for that info! Holy cow ... I'm surprised the prices aren't a bit higher.....

*raises eyebrow* Is this a special model? Not sure I remember the "Holiday" coupe..... Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Day! I celebrated by getting my older 4 MCs out a bit (weather was absolutely gorgeous here!) ... and then watching "Cars" with my parents in the evening. *huge grin* I absolutely LOVE that show! Course, the Firebird is what drew me in ... but, I loved all of the different aspects of the show ... Jim's relationship with Rocky, etc. Course, watching it while on my road trips, I've seen Jim either drive, be chased by, or chase several 2nd generation Monte Carlos . Ah...well, that'd be cool, too... -
Hmmm....more details? Please!? And, Olds ... Aura is FWD, no?

Dangumit ... that would've been a cool pic to see .

*chuckles* Yeah know, I saw that thread last night ... and thought ... hmmm ... that might be an option. But, really, I don't think so..... I'll do some searching for GTOs ... but not on eBay ... don't like buying something from there ... never have really warmed up to that concept too much ... he heh. And, carguy ... great idea ... but then, with my luck, I'd have to get a winter beater to keep the Olds out of the winter ... he he he.

This is either WAY too amusing ... or I'm WAY too tired ... or I'm WAY too deprived.................. *shakes head* My RWD '87 MC LS handles just fine in the snow, too. So, you race everytime you drive? I could care less how fast the car goes.... ...and that would mean what exactly?

I actually like all 4 of the original generations ... and don't really have a "favorite" per se. But, I tend to like the advertising/brochures for the 1st generation best...tho, not sure why. *shrugs* I don't think they know how to do that ... since they didn't do it in '87 ... and thumbed their noses in the faces of their enthusiasts even more with the last couple generations. Heh ... I got tired of watching the baseball games because every other commercial break were commercials about how Chevy is baseball's # 1 fan ... too bad they don't care about their own fans/enthusiasts..... *sighs* Sorry....struck a nerve, I guess.... *shrugs* Cort:33swm."Mr MC" / "Mr Road Trip".pig valve.pacemaker MC:family.IL.guide.future = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/ Models.HO = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/trainroom.html "Who do you think you’re talkin’ to?" ... Awesome!!! Did you, by chance, get a pic of that? Talk about a neat scrapbook pic!

*chuckles* Maybe I'd pick up a gal then, too . He he he Interesting question ... not sure. Something different, that's for sure.... Nope to these because I want RWD, not FWD. Course, that hearse would be an interesting choice.... . I thought about the GTOs ... but I haven't been able to find one that I actually like ... most of 'em are manuals (sorry, I'd prefer automatic, especially with my commute in dangumit traffic) and the ones that are auto are black.... I already have one black car ... that's plenty tough to keep clean as it is . Hmmm.... Perhaps I will. Tho, the best pic I have of all 5 of them right now is this one: http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/1106/DSC07636r8_jpg.html ...and I'm not sure it'll meet the specifications. Aye. -
*chuckles* Yeah, I do ... but, I admit the thought of carpayments again ... aye. *shudders* Even so, some great points/ideas here, guys, so thanks. GMTruck, I want RWD ... no FWD for me. As for GM, well, after driving the Dodge Charger for my road trip, GM/Chevrolet (in particular) has lost me. Since they aren't building what I want, I'll be going elsewhere if I buy new..... Tough choice, I know ... and I have to be the one to make it ... but, as I noted, some great points/ideas ... and I greatly appreciate them .
