  5. Pretty sure that’s merely tire / wind noise, just like all IC vehicles make at speed (I’m ignoring the golf cart-esque electric whine, audible both inside & outside). I’ve never read anything that states the artificial car noise is engaged at speeds over around 20, on ANY brand.

  7. In mid-level trims (Elevation & SLE), the price diff of the 3.0L TD is $1K over the 5.3, but the city MPG goes up by 5. I have a relatively light foot only because the 2500HD is elderly & tired; I brake like a loaded semi and I don't hammer on it like I used to. But it's MPG has never differed regardless, I've logged every fuel fill since I got it.
  8. I've never plowed with my truck. I put in 4L once. In treacherous snow I only need 4H. When I plowed for a buddy of mine using 3 or 4 different vehicles of his, I only ever used 4H. With plowing, it's better to have a bit of slip anyway. 4L is serious off road / mud pit stuff.
  9. There's just 3: black, white & green. Have to have a black, so your "range" is 2 colors. But I guess relatively-speaking; you're not wrong.

  12. I don't -and can't- really worry about the fringe element. They're free to hold that viewpoint, but it doesn't have any weight to it in the grand scheme. Via my observation; the folk who hold a position like that are FAR FAR outnumbered by those who will stand in line for 12 hours to buy a 102% phone while they have a 12-month old phone in their pocket. That contingency drives product obsolescence. There have been a LOT of offbeat EVs over the years; some expensive, some cheap. The issue that Tesla addressed is their products are palatable/comparable in terms of it being a 'real car'... but they're still too expensive. The range is good to very good. I believe EVs will be over 50% of new vehicle sales... but I don't have much faith it'll be within my lifetime. If pricing isn't competitive, buyers will extend their current vehicle's service life / buy pre-owned (some of which may well be EVs, and new car sales overall will tail off. Some folk just aren't going to be interested in one / prefer gas-fueled vehicles. 16 million BEV sales per year within 20 years? The pace of change here is too glacial. You aren't going to 'retire a truth' with 11%.

  14. '16 Malibu's 450-mile MPG window fluctuates between 30 & 33. 2500HD averages about 16.25. This is why the 3.0L TD is so appealing; combined is about 23.
