  3. I think they should still write obits this graphic ~
  4. Looks like the porch from Hee Haw. That's some way-back sheet there, oldblu.
  5. ^ $1000 in 1899 equates to $30,500 today. - - - - -
  6. Hydro-Carbon System ~
  7. There was little in the way of 'convention' in the early years. Some vehicles with large flywheels did have portions of the power train south of the framerails, but others just had their frames 'riding high' with all the buggy wheels. Here's Henry Ford's 1896 Quadricycle- all is north of the rails here. I don't think the term 'skateboard' really applies; it's really just 'body on frame'.
  8. I'm estimating, but 90% the exact same car. - - - - - I'm all in for coping/ handling it/ gittin' 'er dun… but that's not the way of the world anymore. We have remote-controlled BLINDS, for shit's sake.
  9. A friend just got off a flight in a new-tech electric jumbo jet. He could not stop raving how quiet and non-smelly the flight was! - - - - - Saw this on another board (didn't check the math) : "Assume your electric vehicle has a 275 mile range and requires 6 hours to fully charge. At an average driving speed of 60 mph, it would take about 15 hours to make a 550 mile trip. 550 miles in 15 hours is an average speed of 36 mph. That's Model T performance."

    His battery is dead.
  11. I'm seeing via google that it's 52 for the Camaro, and the average buyer age for all cars is now 53.

    phones

Mine is going to be the most underutilized smart phone of all time. EDIT :: I charged to 100% Wed night, as of noon Friday it still has 66%- and I spent some time yesterday manually entering my contact list (42 so far). If I can get 3 days out of a charge, that's not too bad, and halfway between the 6 days I got out of the flip, and the 16-some hrs some people get.
  13. HD is a hard pass from me. - - - - - I REALLY like the 1500 (LT & up) design; it's unconventional to some degree but it also looks crisp & 'smart' somehow. I'd give them an 8. The 2500/3500, sorry, but those are really ugly. Getting a 'Frankenstein forehead' vibe and none of the elements in the front end seem to be either cool or working together. I'd give them a 1 or 2.

    phones

Well, finally took the plunge. My prior 2 flip phones lasted a combined 11 years and I had no complaints, but I just bought a new iPhone 8. Man, is this going to be a long learning curve. BTW - Costco, as referenced here on page 1, only sells the iPhone X.
  15. Yep! Ain't she purty?
  16. Chrysler is in the sale volume tent as Acura & infiniti and it's 25% higher than volvo. No way that's 'miserable' volume unless those other premium brands are also. Are they? I agree with DD; we read certain people claim Lincoln was "a dead brand" but all it took was product to revive it. Chrysler has far greater potential than fiat or alfa romeo has, it just needs the right product.
  17. Huh. audi shows 253 e-trons sold in April, but insideEVs shows 37. IEV also shows 467 sold YTD. Is this more of that 'in transit' or 'produced' mumbo-jumbo/sleight of hand?
  18. Urus overall length : 201.3" Bentayaga overall length : 202" Escalade overall length : 203.9" Those 3 are exactly the same size. What did I miss? That's precisely the car that engine is going in.
