I know there's a sizable fan base for the last C-Bodies, but I piloted one back & forth in a driveway and didn't care for it in the least. - - - - - XP-825 Eldorado ~

Tesla Decides To Drop Self-Driving Option That Owners Haven't Been Able To Use
In an article dated Jan 2016, Tesla was claiming all their cars would have "capability" for full autonomy in 2018, and now Tesla is backing down on merely the capability. The only way an autonomous vehicle becomes a viable, consumer-grade product answering the vague 'physically handicapped / blind' demand is at Level 5. Level 4 doesn't matter other than as a step to Level 5.

OCTOBER CAR SPOTTERS!
I'm partial to Pontiacs, so I would agree on the Grand Am (Also test drove a first gen 400 GA). Early-mid '80s HS friends ran : '65 Corvair, '53 Merc, '68 Deville convert, '67 Malibu, '69 Firebird, '69 Mach 1, '68 Catalina, '65 Catalina, '59 Star Chief, '63 Galaxie, '70 Torino and my '64 Grand Prix. One guy had a VW Dasher. Our crowd wasn't into the anemia of the '80s at all : no guts, no glory.

- OCTOBER CAR SPOTTERS!
Pontiac usually had the best interiors, and for decades. No '78-87 intermediates in my family/friends circle, other than me test driving a Buick GN once.- Random Thoughts Thread

^ • Agreed that Tesla should refund whatever the line item is for the 'self drive'. • Disagree- you won't see consumer level full self-driving door-to-door vehicles in your lifetime. • MB had an electric van concept/prototype in the early '70s but never did anything with it. So much for being a tech leader.- Random Thoughts Thread

IMO it's far LESS than people realize. And to date these self-driving options only work on highways- there are still huge barriers for 'door-to-door' operation. Full automous 'door-to-door' vehicles are decades off and the prices will undoubtedly be quite limiting to those physically/visually impaired that may be unable to afford them anyway. This is still in the fantasy stage vs. the real world.- Random Thoughts Thread

Googled around- didn't see any Javelin / AMX's with the circular vents. Pontiac started doing that in '73 in the GP & GA.- Project INVICTA
• Bought some EvapoRust to clean the slight rust out of the fuel tank, but unless one is ready to put gas in it (which I'm not) it's better to wait. So after all the running around RE the fuel tank and anticipating installing it permanently, instead it's going into storage in the basement, along with all the fuel lines & assorted pieces. Rad shop (in business since 1929!) wanted too much to clean/coat the tank ($395), so I paid them $20 to weld a drain plug in one upper corner instead. The best sealer on the market is $32/quart. • Pu the car up on 4 jack stands, going to work on the exhaust / header next, instead. I am lacking the parking brake hardware inside the rear brakes, but once again; I am asking a '59 parking brake pedal & frame to talk to a '70's MoPar DANA 60, so more engineering there. Exhaust system comes with it's own questions, namely; whether I have to end it before the rear axle or if I can fit it out to the rear bumper. A bit more work and pounds that way, but also a bit quieter. Also can look at the brake line scenario & figger out upgrading the hydraulic system. I had planned on a dual-reservoir manual brake system, need to think it all through.- What Are You Listening To?

Pity no one will buy one. BMW doesn't have all its oars in the water.- Random Thoughts Thread

^ Looks like some good time. - - - - - 'Should consider' - too late, apparently. The fact that an imbibed chemical is getting approved in widening areas WITHOUT any guidelines, studies or standards for impairment while driving is amazing to me. I don't care what people do privately, but public roads are another matter.- BMW News: 2019 BMW X7 Joins the Large 3-Row Luxury Crossover Fight
So... the V8 is a $19,000 option?? - OCTOBER CAR SPOTTERS!
