They both have three window designs with a slightly sloped hatchback rear... As Northstar stated, they're both extended sedans. Same idea, yet the Opel comes off more refined, but no more attractive. The Mercedes C-Class Wagon Fastback roofline would be much more appropriate for the segment that Opel & Saturn are competing in.

The Cavalier was bad... but the Caprice Classic was very popular. It held up well over time too. GM had a very hard time adjusting to compact/subcompact vehicles.

Signum's exterior looks too much like the MAXX. The next Signum needs to look much more stylish before I'd suggest it for Saturn.

I say make the Malibu Maxx a full blown wagon with a more utilitarian/boxy roofline to maxximize cargo room: While giving Saturn Aura a wagon with a fastback roofline similar to the Mercedes C-class wagon:

Less fleet sales are part of the reason for DTS... and the STS still outsells the groundbreaking RL. I really don't think Cadillac needs a new STS or to adjust pricing. It's already priced lower than most of its competitors. Power & Performance is already there. The interior just needs to be upgraded and given more style/character. If it had a class leading interior, the entire package would be equal to or leading the competition.

As much as I'm thrilled to hear this, I'll still be very happy with a Lucerne or Buick Zeta.

His first trip to Europe, and every trip after, probably eliminated those to. We've rented Volvos and every cab seems to be a Mercedes.

That is not what happened. I rechecked the Admin section and verified. You suggested it back in March and Z stated we could start testing the feature to see if it works correctly. It fell through the cracks with the hosting issue taking highest priority. There's no resistance against revisiting the issue and going through with it after the hosting issue is resolved.

Not to mention the 3.6l with GM's new 6-sp automatic.

Hmmm.... a giant leap forward for a 3/4yr old vehicle. Looks good. 270hp 3.9l w/6 speed auto wouldn't be bad either.

Very sad... It's still a great vehicle.

Forgive my sarcasm empowah. It's not directed at you personally. I agree with a lot of your points in several areas. I'm just burnt-out on the LaCrosse getting attacked in areas that it's actually competitive. The interior materials and fit&finish are great. The styling lets a lot of people down though.

(edited to remove my own sarcasm - VS) A clear pic of the dash. Styling is bad to some eyes, but it's a well built environment: non-intrusive trunk hinges: The interior materials are soft and low-gloss. The assembly is excellent.

The molded door panel materials are the same soft-touch plastics as on the dash. They're not cheap. Wood is on the LaCrosse's door armrests Door handles are Chrome... Both are unlike the last Regal. IIRC, the last Regal & Century had vinyl inserts. The Impala's molded door panels feel cheap. Not the LaCrosse's.

And honestly, I'm not defending the center stack. It could look much better.

Completely Agree. I get tired of the bashing against Fleet sales. Media complains that GM has high fleet sales. GM cuts back on Fleet sales. Media complains GM's market share has dropped. Can't win.

Cadillacfan & Caddcruiser: I was not commenting on appearances. Styling is VERY subjective. A lot of people don't like the Black colored center stack. That has to do with styling/appearance. You fail to recognize that the center stack would look better in a different color or shaped differently, but there's no need to use a different material. Also, the integration of the Radio & HVAC controls are far superior to any of GM's other midsize sedans. The details are there. Caddycruiser, I have no idea what you're referring to about the "other cheap" touches. Grab handles are dampened. Everything is illuminated. Gaps are tight inside and out. Both of you elaborated on a specific detail, however the original comment stated everything felt cheap. That is nowhere close to the truth.

As much as people want to whine about the styling, lack of features, & wood pattern... the interior materials are not cheap. Almost the entire interior (dash and door panels) is covered in soft touch materials. The headliner is woven. The leather's suppleness compares to vehicles costing several thousands more. The cloth material is durable. It's lighter than what some prefer but the cloth material is not cheap. I've been is loaded CXS LaCrosses and stripped CXs. The LaCrosse's interior is well built and solid. The mentioned changes in the other topics may help with the perception. The most important one is the Allure's wood grain change.

Not to change the subject, but with Pontiac not having an EPII planned for a G6 replacement... and Hudson stating that there isn't a RWD vehicle planned for production in NA for Pontiac: Where does that leave Pontiac when EPI & W-Body end? Theta is going to GMC or Buick. Lambda went to GMC & Buick. True, a limited production GTO could be imported from AU again... but for what reason if there isn't any other product but Kappa?
