  1. I agree about the 4 door coupe crap. Obviously the CLS is better looking and more aggressive than a lot of other cars, but what makes it a 'coupe'? Especially this VW. How is that any different than a 2000 Taurus or my 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix?
  2. I think a stripped down performance version would be cool, similar to the Cobra R or STi. Hood and trunk could be fiberglass. Sound deadening material removed. Crank windows. Lot's of aluminum instead of steel on the suspension. Big brakes, big tires, big power, good handling, low stance. Offer it in badass colors like gumetal with flat black stripes. Maybe flair the fenders like the Z06. Things like that. I have no idea what to call it. But I almost think that using a nostalgic name would be bad since the majority of people have the image of a redneck driving an IROC in their heads. This is a new era, a new platform. Camaro 'Street' Edition?
  3. I don't think he was saying that the Jeep GC SRT8 is watered down. But that there is no brand identity. You can get a Dodge, a Chrysler or a Jeep with an SRT8 badge. I'm surprised DCX didn't call the Dodge SRT4 "Neon Kompressor"
  4. For the people who said they don't care too much for spy shots, or that they don't care about a car they'll never own...I don't get it. Why would you visit this site, let alone read this post, let alone respond to it? This site is all about what's new with GM and it's competitors. Spy shots give us information way before the manufacturers do, so how are they 'no big deal'? I know I'll never own this super Vette either...but that doesn't make it any less fun to read about. We can all dream, right? Besides, it's exciting to think about an American car that is going to smack down some Italian exotic at 1/5 the price. To each his own, I guess.
  5. The interesting thing about electric power in vehicles is this: if I draw electricity from my home to charge my car's battery, that just means that my power supplier will have to burn more fuel to generate that power. I'd love to see an analysis of how much fuel is burned to generate the electric power that will save me X gallons of gas... Maybe the power supplier can do this cheaper than paying at the pump...but environmentally speaking, how much better is it? Obviously if your power comes from nuclear, water, wind, etc, this is not an issue. But my power comes from a few different sources, one of them being fuel.

I wouldn't worry too much about the horsepower in the Z06. I think the biggest question is how is Dodge going to get ~650hp to the ground...
  7. Someone mentioned that it wouldn't be practical to produce the Impala in RWD on a grand scale. But what if some cheap versions were used again as taxis and police cruisers, similar to the Crown Vic? My brother in law is a NYC cop and he says that most of the guys hate the FWD Impalas. They break all the time. Or if they are nicer than that, they can compete with Town Cars in the livery service.
  8. Would be sweet if it was a G45 or a G56, if you know what I'm sayin'
  9. On a day when GM lays off 30,000 employees, that is at least some good news...
  10. I love this thing too. I was reading about it a few weeks ago on the Mallet website and I wanted one so bad. Then I was talking to someone who pointed out that the C6 Corvette only costs a few thousand more, probably only weighs a few lbs more, probably handles better and has a real warranty from Chevy. Don't get me wrong, this V8 Soltice is awesome and exclusive. But since so many things have to be upgraded to accept the motor, the price gets a little out of control. If you could have it for under 30K, that would be amazing because it would completely separate it from the Vette. I'd still take one though.
  11. Looks almost like they're trying to build a FWD version of this:
  12. When buying a luxury car, isn't it better to be priced a little higher? I would think that if someone had the money to buy a car that expensive, they wouldn't want to cheese out and get the car that's 20 grand less. When buying a car like that, it's all about image. And if you're rolling in a high priced luxury vehicle, you're the shit. They don't want to be know as bargain hunters. Then again, I could be wrong since I'm not in that position.
  13. I agree. This thing looks great! However, I also see some Ford styling in there as well. Obviously the grille is all Chevy...but overall, I see a mixture of Explorer/Expedition. Not really a bad thing. Those trucks look pretty good. But this truck looks very smooth and love the little flares over the wheelwells. Good job Chevy.
  14. I agree with the Prius comments. Kinda reminds me of: PLUS
