  1. Vroom! Now that is what I'm talking about. I nearly pulled that when I was testing out my first Roadmaster, I highly underestimated the power that thing was putting out and burnt just a little rubber pulling out of the dealership... What a great car the Roadmaster is...
  2. *Alpha smacks Fly... Snap out of it man! They're getting to you!
  3. Can I chime in? Yes, I am a RAZR owner to start that off...but how about we take a look at this a little differently... The RAZR, introduced over two years ago, is over a generation behind this phone. Yes I will grant that, now realize that it took Samsung two generations to come out with something comparable. Now yes, the Samsung weighs more, the Samsung is slightly thicker (which doesn't mean that much with 1 mm at sizes of 13/14mm), personally I like the bulge at the bottom and the incredibly loud speaker it allows me to have, also being able to use the same computer cable as my MP3 player and digital camera means I can pack lightly on the go and only have to carry my laptop charger as the cell can charge off of that. Now in the Blade's favor is the camera, the V3 only has a VGA camera (a .3 MP camera, 640x480 = 307,200 pixels)... There have been some other points made, but I won't delve into them. Now, the Blade really competes with the V3x........which isn't being sold here...only in Europe. 2 MP camera with 8x zoom, macro, and LED flash, 2 way video calling from the 2nd internal VGA camera, onboard photo manipulation (think photoshop-lite), touchscreen, transflash removable memory, progressive downloading, and some more junk that I can't even remember....nearly the same size and same aluminum (this time colored a dark blue...truly beautiful and there is also ash black and something silver) Though through all of this, I'll take the Nokia 888 concept phone anyday over any of them. ^_^
  4. Thanks for the info...and at least Buick will have 3 vehicles until 2009...
  5. Maybe I should also specify...I don't have only basic insurance and I'm sure that's what is seperating most of these enormous gaps... If I were to get the basic $25,000 liability or whatever the number is ($20,000?), I would only pay about $100-125 with that high risk vehicle. Right now I'm sitting at $100,000 liability and a few other things...I can't remember the exact numbers though. So remember, what people are paying is heavily influenced by this fact. Ok, Washington is 25/50/20 required and I believe I have 25/100/50 and in what value I can't remember: comprehensive and collision.

    GOOOO BUICK!

Well, at least I know that Mike has this bookmarked... :P
  7. With 1 accident that has dropped down a little bit so far, good student discount, airbag discount, etc, etc... About $350 a month for a high risk vehicle (they classify the Regal as a sports sedan, and it's red...). It should drop down to about $300 in around 6 months as the last of the accident is pulled off my record.
  8. By the way since so many people are confused about the interior design issue...the interior is done by Lear Corp. http://www.lear.com/ Lear designs all Buick and Cadillac interiors, work heavily with DaimlerChrysler (including Maybach), and many other automotive companies. To give an idea, in addition to a general group which covers companies like Toyota and BMW and the 1 or 2 cars they have done through Lear they have the following divisions: DaimlerChrysler Division Ford Division General Motors/Fiat Division PSA/Renault As far as the "granite" goes...it should be the Corian Countertops from DuPont that both GM and Ford were looking to put in their premium vehicles. From what I understand, the beauty is that they can be designed in curved/shaped molds, and it will be a lower cost to the companies to offer multiple varieties (not that they'll ever actually do that). The material is also rather light yet durable, something that would fit well in an automobile. As far as the Escalade goes, it sounds pretty good with that standard equipment.

    GOOOO BUICK!

You know, that might work better....if I drank.... I don't know what it is, but every Thursday night...I just cannot sleep...and I have to be up at 7 for Photography class... But after quite a bit of just viewing GM and Other Guys at the top...I ventured down a bit and started posting... Of course shortly loosing my temper in the Lounge...oi...
  10. I hate to do this and be the party pooper...but am I the only one who found this the offensive comment in this thread? I know I've been quite elusvie for a while now, just logging in to read and pretty much have stayed away from the lounge...(By the way, the short time period for the cookies you guys have set is extremely annoying)...but frankly it's attitudes like this that have been keeping me away. This board seems rife with hostility, a lot of it from new members, but it seems to have affected some of the older members as well. Without any major moral line crossed, I see no reason for that comment to have never been made and the poster to have just clicked away... Sorry if it seems like I'm looking for a fight, but I end up frustrated every time I come to these boards and see some really great people who I have a lot of respect for harassed (and that's in any section, on any subject).

    GOOOO BUICK!

So you quote me and that's it? :P
  13. $2.71 for 87 in Bremerton... As I was out at SeaTac last night, I did notice some as high as $2.98 for 87, though the average being close to $2.85 for 87. As for the 76 selling the $2.71, the owner told me that he's trying to get it further down as soon as possible, hoping to hit the $2.60 mark this week sometime.
  14. It was Episode 10 of Season 2, aired on 20 July 2003. The show before they drove the GM Hy-Wire around for a bit and gave it a bit of praise. (PS. this is what I've been doing whilst away...I've watched all of the episodes of Top Gear from 2002 (season 1 of the new show) up until 2004...and I'm working on that one. I've only got about 10 more episodes since I've seen most of the 2005 already.

    GOOOO BUICK!

    C'mon...no letting this die.... :P
  16. Actually if you guys had paid attention, several states have instituted gas caps to prevent price gouging by gas stations. In fact I believe North Carolina put a restriction on un-needed driving before the Colonial pipeline re-opened and Plantation pipeline partially reopened, both last night. And as far as gas companies go...wouldn't you love straight 7 billion dollar profits on 80 billion dollars of revenue? Oh wait, sorry...that's only one quarter.... I can't wait until the new 10k's come out for these companies...it will be sickening.
  17. Just to point out since I've heard about it... There is to be a Live Aid type concert I believe held in NY, Nashville, Atlanta, and Los Angeles mainly focusing on New Orleans type music, though it will feature a variety and I think it will be on MTV. There's another running on the NBC networks with other stars. And this is only just a little bit after the tragedy. In addition I should throw in, since I've been hearing a lot of anti-military comments about how they weren't prepared and aren't doing anything... The U.S.S. Bataan is on station and providing assistance, 2nd Fleet is departing Norfolk with supplies (this includes the U.S.S. Iwo Jima, Tortuga, and Shreeveport in addition to numerous search and rescue vessels), USNS Comfort is on it's way, and the crew of the U.S.S. John C. Stennis has been put on alert here in Bremerton. The Stennis is ramping up (and closing down it's refit) to be the carrier on site during these next few months of clean up. In addition I'm sure there are upwards of 50 other smaller vessels loading up and preparing to assist those down in the GoM area. I guess I should also mention the ramp up time of the hurricane. Remember it takes at least a week to call in a ship's crew, prepare the ship, and load it full of supplies (it can be done quicker, but without proper supplies for a situation like this). (Hurricane Katrina lost most of it's energy over Florida and the related islands in the Gulf of Mexico, most people were not expecting the storm to build greatly post Florida) Tropical Depression Katrina upgraded to Tropical Storm at 11:00AM EDT Wednesday August 24. Tropical Storm Katrina upgraded to Hurricane at 5:00AM EDT Friday August 26. Category 4 Hurricane status reached 1 AM CDT Sunday August 28. Category 5 Hurricane status reached 7 AM CDT Sunday August 28. And depending on how you judge a hurricane hitting a location, it began affecting it the evening of the 28th through the 29th. That really isn't much warning for not knowing where it was going or what strength it was going to be. Much less Lake Pontchartrain only added to the destruction, something that didn't occur during previous hurricanes though, granted, it was predicted.
  18. Now...I need to start with saying something: The MX700 set I had was great...truly great... But the problem is: never accidentally (or on purpose for that matter) bend the USB dongle....lol...I broke my wireless keyboard and mouse set today... Currently I've jury-rigged the keyboard to keep working, but the mouse is KIA... Now, the upside to all this.... The Logitech MX3100 will be shipping bright and early tomorrow morning from NewEgg.com... I get an upgraded version of the keyboard I have...and the infamous and wonderful MX1000 Laser Optical Mouse. :D There will definitely be a review posted on this site to let you guys know how I like it...I sat and did a few hours of research on another computer in the house to make sure it was what I wanted for the price I wanted. ($80 after a $20 MIR is pretty good for it, considering it's the same price I paid for my old set too...lol) Josh, I'll tell you if the set I'm getting is worth it for a partial user... Considering this new mouse holds a charge for a week, has a battery meter, and can get a few hours charge off of 10 minutes on the charger (full charge in 3-4 hours)... I think it will make the transition to wireless very easy for someone...

    GOOOO BUICK!

Hey Paulie... If anyone else remembers another Buick name...let me know...I'm going to send PMs...hehe...
  20. I should add that from what I hear, the bluetooth mice have a much greater mouse lag than RF. It has to do with powering down and up the bluetooth antenna (which consumes gigantic amounts of power anyway)...so if you're a gamer...be careful...you may want to consider some RF style mice with a little dongle to plug in.
  21. Let me give you some insight from someone who went through that already... I used to be of the opinion that all I needed was an optical mouse and the keyboard that came with the machine. Considering we'd owned Gateways...we'd had pretty good keyboards and mice (the keyboards were always soft click and the mice were logitech with a Gateway symbol on them - in fact I still keep my corded Logitech/Gateway in case of emergencies...lol...never use the thing though). About 2 years ago I went over to someone's house and they owned a wireless mouse...wow...I was impressed. There was some "mouse lag" as they put it (where the mouse takes a second to wake up), and 30" was his limit...but I loved it. Then just post Christmas 2 years ago....I went into Best Buy to return something and take a look around and saw the Logitech MX700 Cordless Duo on sale for $80...a heavy price I thought...but I figured I'd waste the money if nothing else and know if I ever wanted to buy again. Let's just say I'm still blown away by how good they are. The wireless keyboard was great considering there was just no cable anymore and considering I'm still on the set of AA alkalines they provided me...I'm not upset about battery power...lol. The mouse though, is the kicker. If you've never had a mouse with secondary buttons, you'll learn to love them and never be able to live without them. Whenever I use another computer I'm constantly frustrated by not having the side back and forward buttons for IE, in addition, having two scroll speeds has been great (the mouse wheel and buttons above and below that move faster). The wireless is great...I never use a mousepad anymore and as long as I remember to recharge the batteries every other day (this is after 2 years, it used to last 3-4 days)...it won't fail during the 3rd... The mouse lag is not even noticeable, if I pay really close attention...I might...might be able to notice it... By no means is it a big deal. My opinion has become that it's wireless or no computing for me...lol... And now that the MX3100 set (the new keyboard and MX1000 mouse with a laser and no mouse lag whatsoever) is entering the price range that I paid for my Duo set....I'm starting to consider upgrading. Granted, a DiNovo set would be cool...but reality is that I only need the MX3100 set...lol. :D

    Hahaha

I was at a friend's house one night some kids attempted the same. Ran up, hit the doorbell, and then ran to the ditch outside the house. Got away with it twice before my friend's father grabbed a bucket of dirty dish water (sink didn't work there) and as they did it a third time and ran back to the small ditch...he went to the edge of where they couldn't see him from inside the ditch and threw the dirty water in. These 12 year olds went screaming bloody murder down the street running away...
  23. Upon some review, I would stick with your best bet being either the Logitech MX900 or the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 2.0. Both are rechargeable so if you want to set up that stand somewhere off to the corner to charge them with it, it'll work...but both will work with your internal bluetooth on the laptop. There is one downside to these full size desktop mice though: no off switch. The off switch is designed for non-rechargeable mice to save alkaline batteries, these are designed to stop operating when put back on the charger. So if you plan on using alkalines in them to avoid the recharging...I'd recommend taking them out to turn off the mouse.
  24. Well, I'm a bit of a Logitech nut and my immediate response would be the MX900 which is my mouse upgraded with Bluetooth, but as you mentioned...you didn't want anything to plug in.... These mice tend to have recharging stations that you use as bluetooth hubs... I'm going to take a look and see, but my first response would be looking at that Targus Notebook mouse...all it works with is a standard bluetooth dongle and it should work with integrated bluetooth.
  25. From what I can tell, there are a lot more than two bluetooth mice...but if you're referring to the smaller mobile mice (I know, I have a logitech notebook mouse myself)...I could see there only being two out there. So far I ran into a non-mouse mouse from IOGear -This from Targus: http://www.provantage.com/buy-7tgua06h-blu...us-shopping.htm -This from Belkin which is absolutely not cheap at all (you could buy a bluetooth desktop for that price) http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage...oduct_Id=157641 It seems that mobile mice haven't quite made it to bluetooth, you have to realize that these things work off of AAA batteries and don't take well to the drain that bluetooth makes. Personally I'd just recommend going with a Logitech Optical Wireless Notebook mouse, but if you're using this laptop all of the time I might even consider looking into a desktop mouse solution.
