  1. I wouldn't yet go with optical laser unless you have the cash to spend $60 on your mouse. As far as I know, only Logitech with it's MX1000 and two new gaming mice have it, but probably some specialty companies carry laser mice. Personally I'd go with optical LED technology... :D That's the "optical" you're thinking of. I have been wondering about the upgrade to a laser mouse...my good old MX700 still works like a charm and of course I have the keyboard to boot...but those DiNovo and MX3100 desktops sure do look interesting. Does anyone here have any experience with a laser setup yet?
  2. Here in Washington the law requirse a plate to be affixed to the front of the vehicle...and apparantly State Patrol officers (and at least local cops around here) are instructed to use the disposable camera they carry with them to take pictures of vehicles without one after they stop it. Even if the officer doesn't show up to the court date, a lower level lackey shows with the pictures...and that's more than enough.
  3. *cough* I always just remember the video of the Hummer pulling the Wrangler and Dodge pickup off the mountainside because they couldn't drive across such an incline. Yes, they're all capable off road vehicles...but if you want to soley compare extreme cases...
  4. The Avanti is still alive... Studebaker dropped a long time ago and someone restarted the Avanti name as a company. The company now produces the Avanti and the Studebaker XUV. The 2005 Avanti using the Ford 4.6L DOHC engine and based on the, you guessed it, 2004 Mustang. 2005 Avanti Studebaker XUV (I'm not yet sure if this has begun production)

    GOOOO BUICK!

It appears so...*cough* That's why adding it to your subscription or saving a bookmark is vital... :D EDIT: Maybe I should add that we should leave it here...let it be the secret Buick fanclub... :P

    GOOOO BUICK!

Just how old are you Mike? Ven's turning 29 here in a few months and I just turned 22... (We have to ignore Blu's age...the old fart... :P ) Has anyone else noticed that they've hidden this topic, or is it just me?
  8. Congrats... Though in that first picture he has the look, "Hey you with the camera....."
  9. I'll try to say this differently...lol... Theoretical: Week 1 August: GM sells 800, Toyota sells 400. GM has 60% market share, Toyota has 30%. Week 2 August: GM is running out of cars to sell and sells 400. Toyota sells 400. Both have 50% market share. Week 3 August: GM is effectively out of cars waiting on deliveries, sells 200 cars. Toyota sells 400. Toyota has 60% market share, GM 30%. GM is doing better, but if you ignore some certain data...you can skew the results.
  10. From the sound of it, this is smoke and mirrors... The domestics did so well...that they've run out of cars... When you can't sell a car...one isn't bought (dur). Therefore since you aren't selling cars, your market share plummets as others are still selling.
  11. I was wondering if someone would beat me to it considering I was busy in other threads...lol... Happy Birthday...
  12. See, I can look at that car Nick and know why they're turning you down. A newer BMW carries risks in their eyes all by itself...not to mention financing 15 grand as young as you are. The most we financed for my cars was: Toyota: 0, we paid 4000 Lincoln: 5000 Regal: 6000 and 4000 we paid. 15 grand even with a decent employment in hand is hard for a credit union to do with someone as young as you are. In fact, do you have your credit built up at all? Any credit cards or previous auto loans?
  13. As will was alluding to, the reason that your parent's "Financial Advisor" says it isn't in their best interest is because their credit also is at risk if the car isn't paid for on time. Honestly, my dad co-signed with me on the Lincoln and the Regal... He still has his sickenly high credit rating and now I'm getting 7 and 8% permanent APR credit card offers...lol... If the car is paid on time, it doesn't hurt them... I don't know if the "financial advisor" is being clear with that....
  14. Hey Josh...um...about your DNS server updates you've been mentioning... Theoretically even as CheersAndGears.com becomes active again and that site still works, this will remain an active backdoor since it is a direct link to the server. It's simply knowing the name of the actual server under DNS, might be the best way to put it. So, it won't just "stop working" unless your host is a little odder than the ones I've worked with... You may just have to poke and prod people to move them over. The real problem comes in 6 months when they decide this server is overwhelmed and decide to move you to another and those who didn't update their bookmarks start wondering what happened to C&G... :D

    Question...

You're talking about a filtering system Horizon. Essentially you assign the topic a header to one section and the machine is filtering through the topics and pulling them up under the header you desire. That I think would be ideal...but I don't think Invision has that built in...
  17. Without some explanation...that comment can be interpreted really badly... B)
  18. Thank you Brew, I was looking for just that info myself. From what I understand from reading several articles on this, several companies were not abiding by the idea behind the SAE certifications... Some companies were using differeing levels of oil in their engines, different setups for exhaust, differing levels of octane in their fuel, providing better air intake (I heard one story of an "un-named" company using a small blower fan outside the building to push air through a pipe into the engine's intake for a performance car), things like that. These small differences combined allowed for what seems to be up to 20 HP being different on their specs.
  19. That deserves a bump if nothing else... It actually does feel pretty well put together.
  20. Don't worry...my best friend's boyfriend is probably much further along than you and he's only 20... :P

    The XLR-V

Fair enough...I missed the announcement that at the same testing they hit 469 with the STS and 463 with the XLR... Sorry, I have been in and out...I miss something from time to time. Maybe I should also point out that the announcement was 2 days before C&G shut down...there was a chance I would have missed it. :P Ok, edit #2: The first time it tested it recieved 443 HP while the STS-V recieved 469... The reasons given was that the STS-V had more underhood space for air induction and exhuast. Despite that, at 443 it was supposed to be quicker due to the power-weight ratio. I'm not yet sure about the validity of the XLR-V having 469 yet......
  22. Oh, and for another difference between Falcon and Alienware: That's not plastic with a sticker on it like Alienware, that's Aluminum, Fiberglass, and Automotive Paint with 7 coats of clearcoat... Now that's a computer.
  23. Alienware is for those who want something flashy, but not the real deal. And by the way, it's pretty easy to get a Falcon NW computer up to 13 grand no real problem. If you want to stretch it, 14.5 is about as high as they will offer...but granted...that's 1.6 TB of storage, FX-57, 1 GB of GPU, only 2 GB of DDR2...they need to start upping that, Audigy ZS Plat Pro, 30 inch display... Falcon is where you go if you want a real computer, Alienware is where you go if you want to make non-geeks think you're cool. :)

    The XLR-V

The next XLR-V will have 463 HP...(even if GM doesn't claim it) http://pong.server2vh.com/~cheers/forums/i...=findpost&p=142
