  1. That would be a great idea to pair Buick with Cadillac. Think it's a possibility?

  3. That's nice, and how could I have missed the beautiful tan '65 Buick Riviera peering out of the middle of the 7th row from the top?

  5. Guess I'm a day late, but happy birthday nonetheless!

  7. Happy birthday to you both! I hope that your birthdays are whatever you'd like them to be.
  8. I can follow the logic people have mentioned, but I don't see how both GMC and Pontiac could go. As things are, Buick can't stand alone and, even if Saturn and Buick are paired together in one sales channel, it would be tough for them. Maybe it will be Hummer and Pontiac to go, and perhaps GMC's purpose/approach will get re-thought and it will be kept.
  9. The 2008 results are out for the J.D. Power APEAL Study and "Buick, the domestic nameplate traditionally known for its understated designs, is the most improved nameplate in this year’s APEAL study, thanks to a boost from its stylish new Enclave crossover utility. Buick’s 20-point index score increase was tops among the 36 nameplates in this year’s study, as was its eight-position jump in the rankings." (I added the bold.) All this good from just one vehicle! Buick needs more class-leading and competitive product! To view more from J.D. Power's APEAL Study, click here

  11. Truly, I'm not shooting you and have nothing against you or your poll. Truly, I'm glad that you and others are enjoying it. Even though I personally don't understand it or see much purpose in it, which means nothing to anyone except me. I'll take it to be my problem. I'm all wound up because everywhere I read GM is on the verge of burning through all its cash, may be cutting some brand(s), is in poor shape this-or-that, etc. etc. I have the problem that I can't enjoy the poll, ignoring reality that some of these brands supposedly will soon be history. All that frustration boiled over. I'm frustrated because there doesn't seem to be anything we can do but sit on the sidelines while the boardroom decides which brand(s) to axe. I don't want to vote in that poll, because it isn't quite so cut and dry. For Buick fans such as myself, GM has cut the brand down to 3 models but has yet to be able to offer even 3 competitive or class-leading vehicles at the same time. No, I haven't bought a new Buick after 1998 because they had such mediocre offerings. And there was always the "wait until ___" for the coming model! Likewise, all this talk of combining Buick NA with Buick China has yet to mean much. We can't even seem to agree whether the new Epsilon II will be called Invicta or LaCrosse. (And if GM is so dumb to keep the LaCrosse name... I have yet to see anyone, anywhere ask that the LaCrosse name be kept...) Perhaps what I wrote will make some sense. If not, so be it. Sorry, Camino LS6, I didn't mean to cause any trouble here.
  12. The wet blanket may be on this website, but others have thrown it more frequently and seriously than me. Look around. For example, why doesn't somebody even care enough on this website to keep things updated? Look at the description shown for the Buick forum. It still says "trucks" and "Beyond Precision." Under GMC trucks, it still reads 2007! C'mon, with the Internet, you can update easily and instantly.
  13. Oh sorry, I thought this was an open forum to post our thoughts.
  14. One of your questions was, if I recall correctly, do you intend to purchase a ___ in the next two years. If I like the Volt, for instance, that should be out in just over two years. So I guess I'd write 0. (Just a hypothetical.) Now I'm bored with this.
  15. Understood, but those numbers will be so small. In the course of two years, how many new cars can anybody buy? I like Buick (duh...) but since 1998, they've offered some of the worst choices, like that year when all that they had were 4 similar four-door cars (Century, Regal, LeSabre, Park Avenue).
  16. There's already a verifiable method: see how many people have posted to the various threads under each of the brands. That will show interest on C&G.
  17. Sorry but I think any numbers from this poll will be extremely underwhelming. And so, when you tally the results, if 5 people vote for (or, if no one votes for).... pick one... GMC, what will that signify? It's nice that you're trying to give a picture of the enthusiasm there may be for GM brands, but I don't think that this is the way to do it. Better to have a writing project: "In 25 Words Or Less" what does [ your favorite GM brand ] mean to you? That way, it's not pitting the brands against each other to score a higher number.
  18. I know that this was a lot of work taking then downloading so many pictures. Thank you again! Although nearly all of them have some interest, I've decided that my personal favorites are the black '66 Riviera on page 2 and the blue '63-'64 Riviera on page 2. Both look so sharp and have the Buick chrome road wheels - yowzah!
  19. Wow! Thank you for all the pictures of those beautiful Buicks! And congratulations on the 3rd place showing with your car!

  22. A tough choice as to who is most incompetent. Anyway, I wanted to share something which I saw that a woman had written on her back with body paint during a recent World Naked Bike Ride. "My bush would make a better President."
  23. What's up with GMI's report that the 2010 model Saturn Aura has been placed "On Hold"? They say it may be due to concerns over "the car's fuel economy." Anyone here heard the same? How might this delay the launch of the NG Aura?
  24. Appreciate your input, z28luvr01. But that photo Burlapp is using sure makes the car look plain-jane - and I don't think the Invicta Concept is plain-jane at all.
  25. Thank you, BigPontiac. [ AFTERTHOUGHT ] I can't judge the length of this vehicle; is it possible it's a smaller Buick (not the LaCrosse/Invicta, but maybe the Excelle or Regal or Skylark) going through testing?
