  1. Because of all the diseases and conditions are in Latin. I guess you guys gotta see then.
  2. Columbian food is awesome and fulsome. Makes your belly look like a octamom right before the delivery.
  3. Yeah but your ex-employer will probably be bankrupt before 1st of June and therefore will obviate the need to have a meeting.
  4. But June 1st is the deadline which occurs before the meeting. And if GM does not exist in the current state then the law will not require one to be there.
  5. I guess some Angie Tempura with a tremendous hate for GM and ample amount of time is just sitting there and blogging these news.
  6. Wait a minute! Who's Walt!!
  7. What they are missing is the EXCITEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Cork Soakers with no teeth are awesome.
  9. When a car company claims that its small cars use high structural rigidity steel, it very well puts that same rigid steel in its bigger cars for it would make a business sense as well as safety sense. If both the colliding cars (bigger and smaller) have greater structural rigidity, they will produce similar results as colliding cars with lesser rigidity. You are making the wall stronger and making the bulldozer stronger with the same ratio - it seems like a no-brainer that both will crash as they did before.
  10. Well Chevy for one does not BOAST by thumping its chest how good its safety is for a small car. And people's perception about the Aveo, even on this website, is of an unsafe bugger so it would have been even a more obvious no $hit Sherlock.
  11. I see this as the hidden agenda and conspiracy theory for forcing people to buy bigger vehicles which American manufacturers specialize in. Sincerely, Katsuaki Watanabe
  12. And add some nostrils.
  13. Thanks guys for your input so far. The result as of now is: BMW 18.5 (68.15%) Chevy 8.5 (31.85%) The credit for half votes goes to Roger the GMCTG. I did not find any way to swing his vote. I will provide the details for which car I went for, but for now, I find it intriguing that on a GM website the BMW won handsomely, despite of it being an older vehicle - although there is no comparison between the two. As for the CTS-V or the Camaro or the GTO, they were really excellent suggestions. But more than ANY car, I wanted to buy the 50th anniversary Z06 and almost did that till the bank backed off claiming it being an "old" car. An LS6 CTS-V would be an excellent choice, but the car is prone to wheel hops, and most of the GTO's I found in FL were beat down like dirty whores. Camaro was not on the list because I would rather get the V8 than the base LS 6 cyl. after Moltie and Camino effectively convinced me to do so. Like I mentioned earlier, the BMW came in the picture because of a personal reason, otherwise the cars would not have been cross-shopped. Right now I am too tired for typing everything as I am still jet lagged from my long weekend in Dfelt and Seigen country.
  14. Is that going to be first hemi with DI application?

    Buick's future

DF that tells us its location, not its essence. Do you want it to FWD or RWD or a combination? Do you want it to be cars only, or a cars + SUV/crossover? Do you want one car lineup or cars with different sizes and shapes? Do you want them to handle like BMW, or just float like Lexus or a match of both? Who should be Buick's customers? How will it share with Caddy and Chevy? How will it be differentiated from Caddy and Chevy?
  17. Cuz I am weird? LOL. The plan was not to cross shop, but it ended being that way. Mr. Reg The car was born in Bavaria, shipped to Charleston SC, and bred in sunshine state of Florida since January 2005. As a matter of fact possibly closer to your neck of the woods - Coconut Creek.
  18. THE SEXES Paid To Do It, But Fails To Make His Friend's wife Pregnant After 72 Attempts In Stuttgart, Germany, a court judge must decide on a case of honorable intentions in a situation where a man hired his neighbor to get his wife pregnant. It seems that Demetrius Soupolos, 29, and his former beauty queen wife, Traute, wanted a child badly, but Demetrius was told by a doctor that he was sterile. So Soupolos, after calming his wife's protests, hired his neighbor, Frank Maus, 34, to impregnate her. Since Maus was already marrried and the father of two children, plus looked very much like Soupolos to boot, the plan seemed good. Soupolos paid Maus $2,500 for the Job and for three evenings a week for the next six months, Maus tried desperately, a total of 72 different times, to impregnate Traute. When his own wife objected, he explained, "I don't like this any more than you. I'm simply doing it for the money. Try and understand." When Traute failed to get pregnant after six months, however, Soupolos was not understanding and insisted that Maus have a medical examination, which he did. The doctor's announcement that Maus was also sterile shocked everyone except his wife, who was forced to confess that Maus was not the real father of their two children. Now Soupolos is suing Maus for breach of contract in an effort to get his money back, but Maus refuses to give it up because he said he did not guarantee conception, but only that he would give an honest effort.
  19. In ideal world you are right. But given the HISTORY it may not be the most ideal situation. For GM, people with NOSTALGIA are still a significant amount of customers. That was proved in 2004 after big O died. Those nostalgic customers left for good. If other brands are reduced where they still entice the historic customers while the Caddy, Chevy and Buick gun for new ones, GM will be killing more than one bird as a customer. Heck as much as we hate Saturn on this forum, there are many Saturn customers who feel shafted. Toyota has no history so they can start with three brands strategy or infinite brands strategy on a fresh page. Customers like Camino feel shafted for the years of false promises for vehicle GM had been promising, just like Toyota lovers who abandoned GM for giving them broken vehicles. Customers like Camino will not come back if they find similar performance, and satisfaction in other makes just like the Toyota lovers did when they found their reliable bland mobile.
  20. Look at the state where it is located - MX. I did not know US had 51st state with those two alphabets.
  21. Current Score: BMW - 7 Chevy - 1
  22. That is exactly GM will end up doing not only with GMC, but also with Holden, Opel, SAAB and others. Especially SAAB, they waited fracking 19 years to give any decent product, now when they decided for a 9-4X, updated 9-5, 9-3 and possibly a new 9-1 they are going to handover the entire pie to a buyer who already has readymade everything from good platforms to dealerships. Other than Hummer, no other brand is worth letting go considering the amount of investment. I understand that GM has no money. But someone needs to tell the head honchos at GM how to play brinkmanship. Good God they are pathetic in any kind of negotiations.
  23. Good thoughts keep them coming. There is some personal twist to this trivia, but I will update on it later.
  24. It is one thing to strategically reduce volume by reducing fleeting, etc. and it is another thing to reduce volume by killing volume brands. Yes bottom line is a combination of volume and profitability. But converting volume into profits is a better task than reducing volume to be profitable. Just like Carbiz said what if the market suddenly becomes a 20 million unit market. Suddenly there will be a gap between Chevy and Caddy, which it will not be able to supply. GM was looking to be profitable with a 12 million market. Chevy, Caddy and Buick on their own will not sustain GM in a 20 million market. I think GM is again being short sighted like it was earlier. In a city like Orlando you have three Cadillac dealers to one Lexus, BMW or MB dealer, yet have about third the sale compared to those foreign brands. Talk of inefficiency. If GM needs to pare of extra weight, it should go off in dealerships, plants, etc. Not by cutting brands other than Hummer, Saab, or Saturn. However, I do feel Saab and/or Saturn can survive efficiently with one or two model lineup like Mini. GM should make Pontiac, Buick development as dependent on other brands as they are doing GMC, yet with differentiation. What is sad is with the current state of affair all the good investment GM has made into Opel, Holden, some of Saab, will go down the drain when GM starts the cutting thoughtlessly. The new owners will just eat the pie on GM's hard work, just like Tata is partially doing now with Jaguar. GM is at fault of not letting government understand that its plans are correct, BPG is one brand not three, etc. Just because GM is begging for money and the government is pretending to not to waste its money and giving GM suggestions, does not mean that those suggestions are correct and should hold. It is far from that. GM should make their case strongly and it is GM's duty to convince why their plan makes sense rather than meekly surrendering to the opposition's (government's) thoughtless suggestions.
