  1. You all probably remember my snowplow incident. Recently, I had a lapse in judgement with the Legacy, making two lanes into three. I was merging onto the interstate following two other vehicles when the guy in front slams on the brakes right as he was about to merge. There was a semi coming up quick that must have scared him. I, on the other hand, already had my speed built up and decided I had enough room to merge even if he didn't. So I merged sans issue, passed the car inbetween us, and once I was in my lane, he finally decided to merge himself right as I was coming up beside him. I now had a car to my left, and once again decided I had the room. This time, I didn't have all that much actual room as he merged beside me, but I came through unscathed, missing him by what must've been inches.
  2. Suddenly, I'm relying on the very Sunfire that I've bitched about endlessly in the past.

    300 S

The 300 S was my personal favorite at the auto shows, for what it's worth.
  4. My insurance company sent me new cards... with the policy number scratched off. Atleast the card for the Golf that I forgot to remove from my policy is looking pretty.
  5. I went to bed, woke up, and then drove home.
  6. Eh, probably won't be going new any time soon, especially not with my current financial situation. I'll be looking for the quintessential used nondescript Camcordima or Civirollentra, in the classic appliance-grade white, silver, or beige. I'll have to get the more involved manual equipped model, at the very least to soothe whatever little automotive enthusiasm lingers within after I finish depleting my bank account with the Legacy.
  7. I've done enough bitching and whining about my woes via facebook. Essentially, the Legacy is turning into a money-pit. I love the car, but its holding up about as well as my Golf was. It's snapping lug studs like crazy, the brake rotors are warping for a second time, the rear struts have begun squeaking, the control arm bushings went out, and recently an oil leak developed, presumably from the passenger side valve cover, that produces a wonderful smell and smoke show via the hood scoop. In addition to that, I have some factory maintenance due, namely a timing belt change. In effect, I'm going to be looking to unload it for something more trustworthy and economical after I find the time to make all of the repairs. Meanwhile, I'm having absolutely no luck in keeping the CRX on the road. I've had the hood latch seize, my hood fly up twice, once smashing the windshield (as posted), and ever since I replaced the radiator I've had everything in accordance with the coolant system fail one after the other. Getting the CRX reliably on the road is key to getting the Legacy's repairs finished. I think I'm ready to give up on cars and just get a Camry.
  8. I'm hoping it lasts a little bit longer until I can unload the Legacy. As my mileage goes up, so does my KBB value, except for a random $1k drop back in August.
  9. Maybe the Focus just had a bad month, but it was outsold by the Corolla, Civic, Elantra, Cruze, and even the Jetta.
  10. Focus sales are pretty abysmal for what many people claim is a best in class car.
  11. Fun fact... The Cruze has outsold the Accord YTD thus far.
  12. I don't think the PT was a bad idea, per se... But Chrysler certainly botched a few things here and there, especially when it came to updating it. That and it was really just a Plymouth, afterall.
  13. Toyota is about as sporty as beige loafers. It hasn't gotten anything back yet.. I don't think an overpriced computer on wheels really changes anything.
  14. New windshield is in... old hood is bent back into a reasonable position and ducktaped to car until a replacement can be found.

    Going Up?

The Up! has a listed curb weight of 2048lbs.
  16. Isn't that just puuurrrdy.
  17. It's just a renamed Outback Sport, essentially.
  18. A non-working clutch doesn't give me the impression of a car being completely worthless. Worst case scenario, it might need a transmission if the clutch/flywheel/cable isn't to blame. Otherwise, I'd say the mechanic is trying to screw your coworker out of a car.
  19. If you're on more of a budget...
  20. If I am lacking in the hood latch department, please be sure that the hood is secured in the closed position before going on a test drive down the road. Doing so will prevent you from replacing one hood and one windshield from the destruction caused otherwise.
  21. The Cruze Turbo has alot of potential to be a fun little car.
  22. Don't know who made it, but...
  23. My old Millenia. On three separate occasions in two days. I was surprised.
