  1. Please have the birdie go take a sh!t on those 20" wheels . I knew they would happen , but I was hoping not . 18's will probably look dumb in those big 300C size wheel well openings Maybe outa the hole they will be , but I wouldnt expect the engine lineup to remain limited to a 6 and 1 6.2L . With the 260 hp 3.6 as a base , the G8 L76 would make a great base V8 . With a LS3 mid and LS8 topping it up . 260<361<430<500'ish seems like a nice progression
  2. The Saturn Aura , Pontiac G5 and G6 , the 08 Malibu also use the same type of 5-spoke steel wheel with an aluminum wheel looking cover with aluminum wheels being the upgrade .
  3. Check your local chevy dealers parts computers . New parts for the 2008 Turbocharged Cobalt SS are popping up . Heres some random screenshots from GM parts computer . Hmmm , those new 18" wheels look familiar Theres more info in the original thread , these were just the highlights . Full thread by orginal poster can be viewed here @ CobaltSS.net/08Cobalt
  4. Thats what Im sayin . A real useable trunk would take from being a looker , to a potential buyer . Targa , useable trunk and LNF FTW !!!!
  5. And if they dont , u can still buy them . The G8 show car had 20's , but the HSV version of this wheel is a more realistic 19 " frogger- G8 GT has leather wheel standard . In pics of the Commodore , the Stealth Blue looks almost just like Impulse Blue from the GTO . For the people that brought up Blue Flash , this color is nowhere near that disgusting color . Here are a few pics of the new Blue , and for contrast ....there one in Morpheous next to it . Pontiac Stealh Blue is called K-pow for the Holden Ute . Morpheous left side , stealth right side
  6. Alpines own Sema show car , which was a Pontiac G5 used the stock black tie head unit . They said it was one of the best factory units they had seen and saw no reason to change it . Unless u really dispise its looks , the black tie radios will support a pretty healthy car full of aftermarket speakers . GM has an adapter now that will even let you control your Ipod thru the factory radio controls and steering wheel controls and display ipod info on the factory radio screen . Theres really no need for me to ever replace the factory HU in my Cobalt , which is pretty cool imo .
  7. At least the black tie radios looked good . I love the one in my cobalt ss . Hopefully the new stuff really truely is more integrated and unique looking .
  8. Gamma comes in 2009 so Im told . Cobalt is not a part of Delta 2 . The MCE was cancelled as far as I know , it was to be for 2008 .
  9. Does the Cobalt fall into this mix at all ? The small bits that are popping up about Delta 2 have yet mention Cobalt . thegriffon - There were already 2007 Astra mules with IRS , so Im gonna assume here the twistbeam is on life support .
  10. So when does Pontiac , Cadillac and Saab get there versions too ? I thought the endless cloning was over at GM ? I really like the Opel'ish Saturn version ...especially the interior , but in all honesties , it shoulda had a Chevy badge from the get go . And since Chevy is a full line dealer .....the cheaper Traverse version shoulda been where chevy starts and the top of the line Outlook is where the chevy shoulda stopped . Keep the GMC , Definately keep the Enclave and leave it at that . All price points and market preferences covered
  11. For mid size family sedan in very base form , I really dont think this looks bad at all . The 2008 Accords are on lots here now , and just based on looks alone , I would be at the chevy dealer . I basically think the new Accord looks like it should have a Hyundai badge . As far as the interior , Honda looks like it had a slight notch in material usage ....but the dash design looked nowhere near as good in person as it did in the pictures . All the different planes and angles were quite a turn off . Cobine the Honda interior materials with the chevys interior design , and IMO ...that would best in class . Chevy is killing themselves with that cheap looking silver paint . They use a coating in other models that look like real brushed aluminum ...as do alot of other manufacturers , why skip out here ? Its the smallest of details like that , that go a LONG way . The front and side profiles of the Malibu look really good ....especially the side profile . Oddly the midlevel 2LT interior will probably be the best looking imo . I would hands down take Alcantara over leather
  12. Definately agreed . You can see they even caried over the glowing coves around the gauges from the concept ....why else would the coves be tranparent white . Hopefully they dont cheap out on the materials like they did the new Malibu . They got the dash material finally looking good with a nice satin sheen , and then ruined all the details with all that cheap rattle can looking silver paint . I realize they cant use real aluminum in competively price midsizer , but man ....peer in a few other cars GM . The brushed aluminum coatings at least look close the real thing .
  13. So what is Global Delta MPV7 at Hamtramck starting in 2009 . I assume this is not the Cobalt/G5/Astra on Delta 2 ? In that list , it looks like the Cobalts are gonna be coming outa Mexico .
  14. Early testing of the shortened wheelbase chassis and the specific parts that pertain to it . This is most likely a suspension/chassis mule . As far as powertrain is concerned , this would enable them also to run Camaro power levels thru the chassis as well . Anyone remember the 4th gen Camaro body grafted to the C5 corvette chassis that was used to the test the C5 under the radar ?
  15. That woulda looked a hell of alot better is the plood strip was a real strip of textured aluminum ( like the mesh texture in the A4 ) and the center stack was piano black << that woulda contrasted well with the small chrome accented stuff and the matte black dash . Not a fan at all of that silver paint chevy has been using , its just looks about as good as rattle can silver paint job ....at least use a pleasing really vibrant silver if it must be painted << kinda like the spokes on 06-08 grand prix steering wheels which really does look like polished aluminum .
  16. What a pointless study . There are as many straight men that would be considered gay as there are gay men that would be considered straight going off this test , lol . Guess this test makes me straight , who'd a thunk it
  17. Heeeeey ....with help from the Astra , it looks much better . The pic isnt photoshopped , I have about 300 hours in fabbing these lights . Im not sure that is the US interior , these appear to be the same 2 original press cars from awhile ago . Sexy none-the-less . I really hope they eventually bring the VXr over as a Redline , then I will buy one .
  18. Its nice to see Saturn so poised for greatness . I worked at a Saturn dealer for 4 years back in the S-series days ( 99-02 ) , so I kinda have a soft spot for Saturn and its success . Now , get that Redline Astra over here and I would actually own one .
  19. I hate these types of cars , and hate the profile and odd proportions of this car . But , I love GM europes styling . Despite its wierd proportions ( common to all these mini cars ) the styling details are GREAT and the interior is perfection .
  20. If this thing is gonna look so much like a Saturn Outlook , why bother
  21. But its not . For once in a long time , the GM midsize v6's are the slow ones . Both the v6 Accord and the Camry and the Altima are running bottom 14's , and thats magazine times .
  22. Man , why bother with this thing . Just when ya think Pontiac is on the right track , they go and do sumthing like this . Is this not just a RENAMED GTP , with new facia's and wheels that u actually have to pay extra for . Screw the ugly body crap . This car shoulda been sent to the ring , get the ride height down , add some more Motorsport'ish looking wheels and performance tires , the DI 3.6 with a 6-speed manual , Recaro seats and maybe for appearence ......incorporate a projector in the headlamps and give it some xenons . Then add a GXP badge to it , because it really woulda been special car . Leave the 08 GXP as what it really is , last years GTP . GM is sooooo random right now . Some stuff is executed perfectly , and then u have "waste of money" stuff like this .
  23. Sweet package , me likes . Its not the best looking on the market , but I really like this car .
  24. Well , if its true .....I cant believe they picked the right name . The king of the hill lives again
  25. GM would be foolish to not add this to US G8 lineup . I see Magnum's everywhere . This would be more on the scale of a BMW or Merc sport wagon , I think it would do very well at a low volume . I think it would sell better actually than a El Camino .
