  1. Coming from a Cobalt SS owner , I think they did a great job with this car . Smart move making the big spoiler optional ....about 1/2 of more SS/SC owners remove theirs and go spoiler less or run the little one . Its also humerous how so many said this car was too boy racer looking with the big wing . Now that the new cars out with a more subtle spoiler as the only body change from the old SS/SC , and with much more agressive lookign wheels , the car is suddenly plain and boring . Ive read that in alot of press from the same people that ousted the big wang . I wish Chevy woulda refreshed the Kia looking headlights though for a more modern projecter design . It alone would have went a long ways in freshening up the front end with the new grills .
  2. They werent talking about a month to month goal of 3K . They were just talking about the 1st month of prduction while their ramping up I think they plan selling more than 36,000 a year .
  3. And a amazingly wise move that would be . Theres quite a performace gap between the DI 3.6 and the LSA .
  4. That is THEE most ignorant statement Ive heard all year , lol If Cadillac ever wants to acheive respected world status it wants , it will have to be a MUCH more versitle brand . BMW , Merc , Audi ect all have entry level cars starting in the 30's , dont see their reps or brand equity hurting too much do you . If they build this CUV right , it will be an asset to the brand , jmo :shrugs:
  5. Those headlamps are wild . Is this the 1st application of full LED headlamps on anything ? Not sure if Lexus has done this with the LS460H or anyone else for that matter .
  6. I stopped and at the dealer tonight and looked at one . It was a White LTZ with the Ebony/Brick red 2-tone interior . The Malibu looks better 10 fold in real life , even the rear end . I was pretty amazed too with the interior . The car as a whole looked pretty upscale . The Honda dealer is across the street , in contrast ....I still think the Honda looks like a large Hyundai . These arent my style of cars so I dont know how either of them drive , but looks wise .....back to back comparison , the Malibu imo is the better looking car . In and Out . To bad Chevy couldnt have whipped up a Parchment/Ebony interior accented with piano black and satin nickel trim . It would look incredible with the White and polished 18" wheels .
  7. That should be corrected come NAIAS . The yellow car is not a production car . The development cars had the new grills , no clue why it was left off this one .
  8. The LSD is NOT standard on the 08 . In 2007 it was a $750 option , should be the same money for 08 .
  9. Rims were photoshopped . Heres the Actual car at Sema .
  10. Maybe u meant to word it like that on purpose ? ...if not , OPC and VXr are the same thing . OPC goes to Opel in England and VXR is Vauxhall in the UK and Holden in AU .
  11. I think in the flesh it will be a good looking car . All these photoshopped pics look like crap .
  12. same thoughts exactly .
  13. Nice raid on the OPC and SRi( groundFx) parts bins , too bad they forgot the HP . 160 is weaksauce batman . The color is sweet , the seat fabric however... is certainly not .
  14. Is this car actually at Sema ? Or do we just get the horrible photoshopped 2 year old pic with the wrong wheels until the autoshow season ? To GM's defense , this car is only gonna be around for 1.5 years before this generation is dead . They could squeezed out some new modern headligths though . The Astra bi-xenons in mine dramatically altered its personality and makes the car look much more upscale .
  15. GM media lists the LSD as being optional . And a lap time @ Nurburgring @ 8.22 seconds . wOOt , thats flying and in some very respectable company . 16. I keep telling myself I dont wanna trade my SS , but mechanically ....the 2008 is just gonna rock . And they fiiiiiiiinally arent white nazi's anymore . Why does GM insist on baaaad photoshops for their media images ...those wheels are GM accessory wheels that have been around since 2005 . The new ones are 7.5" wide , the rims in those pics are 7 . The pic also doesnt show the new mesh upper and lower grills . This should be the new rim . This rim style is also what comes up in GM dealer parts computer on the image breakdowns .
  17. I have since went to the little spoiler , so your not crazy I got tired of seeing vinyl covering the holes and I wanted to wait until this winter when a small Z28 style lip spoiler will be fabbed in to fill the holes .....hence the low one for now . Looks like GM will have quite a presence this year at Sema . I hope the 50 cent G8 isnt modded like a playa 300c , it probably will be though .
  18. Unless there was some secret hidden option for the spoiler delete , as stated above is how it worked . Here's mine sans spoiler , the 1st thing I did to mine was get rid of that park bench .
  19. The rear 1/4's on the ZR1 are wider than the Z06 to accomodate the wider rubber .
  20. The Turbo Cobalt coupe is a complete gimme . THe HHR SS has already made its public debut and production announcement at Woodward . Maybe just maybe might it have finally dawned on GM a 4-door SS Turbo would likely be a runaway success .
  21. With comments from Lutz that the Camaro will be class leading , it will set new standards and will surprise alot of people ....I just cant see a old engine like the 3.5 going anywhere near the Camaro . Though obviously updated , this engine dates back to the days of the 2.8 v6 ( 2.8 to 3.1 to 3.4 to 3.5 ) grand am . Even the 3.9 only made 240 hp , the 3.5 would make the heavier than the elipson cars Camaro a super turd . Again man , jmo ....not negating nething your saying . Outside of fleet only ..the 3.5 makes an even worse business case for the Impala hyperv6 - haha , Scotts vauge 1 liners often speak volumes if u know how to interpret them As far as the auto show ...about the only safe assumption is there probably wont be a SS , Z28 ect ect badge or any parts closer to production than the original concepts . I hope they do come up with something special to upstage the production Challenger .
  22. Scott said absolutely no production based Camaro on this year auto show circuit and would make no further comment , other than production based car is next years show . You may be right on a special Camaro "concept" On the v6 thing . The 3.6 is in everything now . IF in fact the DI 3.6 is optional , one would tend to think the base engine would be the base 3.6 .... the power outputs are scattered enuff . Just going off costs to engineer separate motor mounts between the 2 blocks would seem to make the base 3.6 a shoe in . Just an assumption ...fwiw .
  23. I choose to keep it simple . Nothing more than a US Astra Redline . I used the GTC concept wheels , black chrome accents and tried to mimmick the new Kappa twins brazen orange color .
  24. An option I rarely ever see choosen on the popular midsize cars . I hope that comment was sarcasm . Hell , when I worked at Audi/VW , even in the A4 ....Navi was rarely ever ordered . EDIT .......didnt see the post by u right above me
  25. I have never been a wagon fan , but that is INSANELY cool . The wheels are gorgeous , as is the interior .
