  1. Studebaker...
  2. Explains a lot....
  3. I can appreciate that... The new cutting board I just made... (Sarcam and humor....) Humming bird and bumble bees sharing a water fountain...
  4. As for ? ski stuff...lot of guys I used to autocross with also enjoyed skiing. Similar set of mental thoughts. One Well known Miata autocross dude was an Olympic skiier...forget his name. Life is to short to do everything. Right now I am fighting the urge to buy a motorcycle. Or just road trip it and pick it up if it is road worthy. Highway miles can be enjoyable if one doesn't get a burger from a certain fast food restaurant off of I 96 in Michigan...!
  5. Love you guys like brothers... sometimes dysfunction brothers...but brothers. Drove to Michigan to see a cousin my age in hospice with Ovarian Cancer and had a mostly good trip. Detroit has a fantastic NPR station and Alma is a neat small town. But got mild food poisoning from the drive thru I got a burger at on the way back home. Doing much better with a bit of rest. First road trip with the Ranger and I am happy I bought it. Hey.... Balthazar...just buy the damned truck... nothing like a new truck... Getting in my modified Delorean with a cash payment...sure hope that Cadillac can hit 88 miles an hour in front of the courthouse because Marty McFly and I are bringing it back to December 2020.
  6. I just find being outside cathartic and relaxing. Hence all of the recent posts about awd vehicles and such.
  7. I can relate... although I find it cathartic to mow the yard with the electric mower.
  8. Interesting that dual clutch transmission is making its way into motorcycles. Honda Africa Twin has it for one.... You have a point in terms of people not wanting to work on them....
  9. Plus small motors get temperamental...and nice to mow the yard in silence. My ICE lawnmower went in the metal dumpster at work when I got my electric mower. Just today helped a friend clean out his garage...I took a whole Ranger load of ICE gardening tools to the same metal dumpster...he upgraded to electric...he is never going back. Ford's of that Era are. Very slowly growing on me. But really it's pre 77 or so or within the last couple of years for me with blue oval products.
  10. Actually liked watching those Thunderbirds race Nascar back in the day.
  11. Autozone accepts used motor oil also...and other places around here accept it. Ford Ranger has filter in awkward location. It's fifty dollars for a dealership oil change which includes a vacuum cleaning wash and tire rotation.
  12. The Filter itself is like $85 and it takes a large quantity of special oil.
  13. I think a couple of other things... Cost of oil changes on diesels is higher... Gladiator Diesel is like over $200 it is insane. You will have people really wanting a diesel truck if you ever trade it back in. Was thinking GTI or Jetta GLI really hard when I bought the Ranger but future trade in was a factor. Trucks... especially diesel trucks...always seem to be in demand if they are not rusted to death or beaten to death. Also...Blu has ruined me in terms of Trucks. I really disagree with David here...I am really kind of finding the full-size Current GM crop hot. Had a whole car carrier of GMC and Chevy full size go by me the other day....all white... everything from work truck to Denali level. Loved every minute of it.
  14. Reminds me of the song Mr Roboto by Styx...
  15. I have an EGO mower it is fantastic. I would be willing to pay for an electric chainsaw (a second more powerful one) because I could cut wood later in the evening without bothering my neighbors. I think Diesel trucks hit a good price compromise. After owning a Diesel Jetta I really want to own a diesel truck.
  16. This kind of investment shows that people are serious. Kudos to those who want to adult in our society.
  17. I cut good sized logs several times a week for my woodworking shop. I am thinking of adding a 4th chainsaw at some point. I have a small electric and a Stihl MS 170. I want something with a 24 or 25 inch bar length next. Just order it....
  18. Agree. I do think Rivian should do well. F150 buyers different to certain extent from Rivian buyers. That being said...with you looking at new half tons...stopped by a Chevy dealer to check out Silverado 1500. Really liked the interior and the overall feel if the Truck. Think crew cab diesel engine combo sounds good with the 3.0
  19. I may road trip new Jersey...
  20. Trying to figure out which is more insane from Facebook....the marketplace advertisement for a 67 Fairlane convertible clapped out and sans drivetrain for 40 Grand or the question in an overlanding forum I am part of asking about the most fuel efficient vehicle to overland antarctica. Just curious...
