  1. My dad was honestly willing to let me but a clapped out 62 Impala SS convertible when I was 16. Still have gone memories of test driving it with the top down on a fine summer Indiana day with him. Miss my dad...and I miss that Impala. Given that it is cold and snowing in Ohio...I miss the sunshine also.
  2. The car you listed after when you were that age...but either one is fine. I was 12 in 77...last good year for to midsize so probably Cutlass of some sort. . 22 in 87 so air cooled 911...97...32...hmmm...Mustang Cobra...42...2007...Z06 Corvette...2017...Challenger SRT. Unfair...I have just for that car that runs from being 7 to being 53....
  3. I don't know what you are talking about...I am still waiting for the gorgeous concept cars of the 50s and sixties to make it into production.
  4. Low center of Gravity for Autocross also...fuel economy...
  5. 42 year old self was into Autocross...Factory 5 for me at 42... 52 years old I had mellowed out...that was last year...Think I would take a CTS-V wagon... Okay...maybe I have not mellowed that much...
  6. Time Travel Edition.... Your 12 year old self, 22 year old self, 32 year old self, 42 year old self, 52 year old self... If you are not 42 or 52 yet....what you would buy today if you were older. For your younger self, anything available at the time you were that age. Only restriction is must be street legal. Kit cars, one of show cars, prototypes, et al completely allowed. Does not have to be your only car...5 exotic concepts is fine. 12 year old self...69 Charger Pretty Mellow guy at 22...newly married....living a quiet life...but still loved cars....how about this Buick GS? Was into Mustangs at 32...this 68 CS/GT should fit the bill..
  7. I could add the Focus RS off of that list, and the ATS-V....but I think what I am really feeling is anguish at the disappearance of the affordable American Performance car. So i would like to add....A Taurus SHO instead of the ATS-V and Focus RS. A very low key stealthy performance car has some appeal to me.
  8. A Fiesta ST snd money for coilovers and autocross stickies. Not sure when it dies...but add a Fusion Sport to the list. Would be happy with just those two.
  9. Don't worry, we have two members who will fight about a full electric conversion for that... I love it!
  10. Given that people are spending actual cash on Kia products I am more concerned with what substance is in everyone else's mug... Given the random electrical issues we had with our rental Sedona over the weekend...Give me an Ohio built Chevrolet Vega instead.... More like face into oak desk top...but whatever.... You don't get out much, do you....?
  11. I watch that same video every few days....we think a lot alike. More good vintage American iron... For the first time in awhile, I wish I could weld well. Thinking of taking some welding classes. Or Blacksmith...or both.
  12. Some neat model trains for a distraction... I actually lusted after that very car back in the day...
  13. On the way to a debate tournament in Hillsdale Michigan, in rural Ohio....58 Ford Ranchero, yellow and white two tone....a very rare beast....out on a February day!
  14. That's OK...I just don't want to loose small performance oriented cars.
  15. There are a ton of non American cars I would own.
  16. Agree completely...interested to see how that winds up.
  17. Ford is winning me back over with these SUV's. This shows a serious intelligent effort to build vehicles. Bravo from me here in Columbus Ohio.
  18. Waiting to see which established automaker steals Tesla's Mojo. I am convinced it is absolutely going to happen.
  19. I did commercial refrigeration work also.
  20. Midsize Ford action, a Judge, and the red Mustang fastback...ohhh...yes....lots to like in this video.
  21. I was thinking the same thing....their commitment to making stuff in the USA gets weaker every day.
