  1. So, given how much fun we seem to have had with the other ultimate dream garage threads, I am going to start another one. Your Crazy uncle is offering to give you a Cadillac ATS brand new free and clear, but it must be the only performance car that you own. This will be a three part question. Part #1, Spec out your ATS and tell us about it! Part #two, you must pick 2 (only two) GM cars built between and including 1975 to 2004. The rub is, no performance vehicles allowed. Corvette is off the table, even if ti is the 305 cubic inch California emissions model. V8 Camaros and Firebirds are off the list with one exception. Fiero is excluded, as is say a Turbo Regal that is not a Grand National, Supercharged or Turbocharged Riviera, Supercharged Bonneville, etc. Celebrity Eurosport or say a Type 10 Cavalier should be fine. Monte Carlo Front wheel drive SS models are not considered performance vehicles for the purpose of this thread, so if you want to pretend to be Dale Earnhardt go ahead. You may have a Camaro of Firebird, but it must come with a factory six cylinder motor and an automatic transmission. You may up the motor size to the max allowed under a regular production vehicle for anything other than a Camaro or Firebird. You may also combine that with any special edition or appearance package, so cars like the 75 Buick Century pace car or the 77 Olds 88 Pace car with the 403 V8 are fair game. You may put a police package on any vehicle, including the Camaro or Firebird. If you get a police package Camaro or Firebird, it will come with lights, siren, period correct radios, gun racks and holsters, spotlights, police paint job and lettering, etc. An Impala or Caprice police package car can be had in any color or option configuration, as these were sued by the FBI, detectives, et al. unmarked. You may modify any vehicle here with a couple of exceptions. It must still look somewhat like the original GM product when you are done, and you cannot radically increase horsepower. In other words, you cannot pull the body off of an Impala, drop a 49 Mercury body on the chassis, and build a 50's era custom. You also cannot drop a 502 big block into a truck because you need the power to turn a set of 44 inch tires in a mud bog. Building a donk, low rider, trail vehicle, competition stereo vehicle for audio competitions, or whatever you want is up to you and you are encouraged to use your imagination. You can cut the roof off of a two door Imapla and make a convertible out of it for all I care. You may also modify the car for handling or racing, such as autocross use. You may also build a full race car out of it so long as the motor and transmission remain stock. Local stock car track, before it went out of business, had a class called crazy compacts that raced J body Cavaliers and Sunfires. They were required to leave the motor unmodified, and this type of use is permitted in this thread. Part # three...take each car on a road trip and tell us where you go! Buick pace car for Era correct inspiration! Oh and a note about police package Camaro/Firebird-it must remain in mostly as delivered condition. We will also assume that it is legal for you to have and operate this in your local municipality for the purposes of display and enjoyment with the slights and lettering attached. Good luck!
  2. Graphite is just awesome as a color on this vehicle.
  3. ATS-V is certainly better looking than the Porsche.
  4. Doubtful this will actually happen. Just the opposite. Limited for now, but given the severe service duty and mechanical simplicity of electric vehicles, I could see this becoming the norm in ten years or so. Municipalities already use electric vehicles for meter maids and meter readers for electric and gas utilities, This would be ideal for a neighborhood patrol also. I work for a university and our department of public safety sues Fusion police package vehicles for patrol For something like patrolling our campus, which is one city block long and one city block deep, a Tesla or Bolt makes infinite sense. 8 hours with an average speed of 15 miles an hour would make an electric car darn near immortal. Plus, you would not need to send an officer off campus to get fuel, giving you more coverage to protect students.
  5. For me, Cayman would work as would a Lexus RC F. We're I actually to spend that much money, it would be a Silverado quad cab diesel dually as a tow vehicle and a Mustang set up for SCCA A sedan on a trailer behind...but that does not fit the rules of the thread! I quite frankly dont like anything Benz builds.
  6. And a minivan makes an infinite amount of sense. Which is why a complete idiot like me would do it in a vintage Thunderbird two seater or a vintage land Rover or something equally practical.
  7. The last of the breed, and when it is gone.... I suppose you could keep it all Chryco, get the 300 Drew was talking about as a tow vehicle, get a decent used SRT 4 Neon for the Twisties, and put the Neon on a trailer behind the 300.
  8. Glad you enjoyed them...I really like Trucks also, obviously....! The Trailhawks are nice products though. I would love a Renegade Trailhawk.
  9. This would be a no brainer for a patrol car I think. Love the idea of more Teslas on the road!
  10. Nice choices both of them! Not much of a Chryco guy, but I have kind of fallen in love with the 300. You have my full approval for this....
  11. Last pic for the day, vintage FJ cruiser....
  12. This also has a really good look to it.... Unimog Camper....
  13. Unusual Camo.... Creative Truck Roll bar.... Another neat pic, love this....yes I will stop post slutting in a minute, but I now have trucks on the brain...
  14. Original Bronco... ...and while I have Ford on the brain...
  15. Another well done photograph.... Ummm....yes please!
  16. Vintage Chevy Truck for OCNblu, if he sees this... Just because I am sitting here surfing truck pics, and like this one...
  17. This thing just has the look also....! I seem to have a fetish for green vehicles lately. More green...and I have had Ford on the brain also...
  18. A little bit more Suzuki love....
  19. Interesting, i did not know they built those with a V8. Learn something new every day!
  20. Hell yes to both, especially the Gorgeous Mustang! When that breaks down in Wyoming.....I hope your AAA is paid up!
  21. I also wish they still made the original 1966-1977 Ford Bronco. Neighbors had one when I was a kid, that thing would go anywhere for hunting or camping. Tracker was a very good product. Also sad to see these out of production.
  22. That's WRX money, methinks I want a bit more of a performance car for that much coin. Would also buy an Ecoboost Mustang. I really like the idea of smaller vehicles, and I love the Samurai's. I wish they still made something similar.
  23. Not the Truck in question, that one runs on 46 inch tires that are not Boggers.
  24. This was why many of the southern Ohio guys were running Suzuki Samurai trucks back in the day. My neighbor built one with a Corvette motor, 44 inch bogger tires, and narrowed F350 axles. It wasn't so small after that. http://www2.izook.com/?page_id=591 Link has a really crappy pic of the truck on smaller tires. Look for Tim Porter, hardcore 4 x 4, and a green Samurai.
  25. Hopefully the 87 Pursuit was not crushed by GM. Happens all of the time! Love this photograph!
