  1. I still think it will fail...which will cause GM to move away from small cars...which means they will get caught with their pants down again when the price of fuel goes up...which means they will have another government bailout...which means we will loose Buick and they will become part of Chevrolet... Sometimes life is a lot like watching Roscoe and the Duke boys chase each other around the big oak tree in Hazzard County. The General Lee always flys through the air and gets wrecked, the cop cars get destroyed, Boss hog looses..no one learnes anything...the same stupidity happens again next week... GM sometimes is a lot like a girl a knew in high school. Unable to learn from past mistakes. Chris
  2. I love cars of the 50's era...I just love "ponycars" more. And sports cars And brass era cars And 1930's era cars And a few cars of the 1920's. Chris
  3. Rollin 22's through the bario with the homeboys...Lambo doors...Neons...NOS...a thumpin stereo...gold chains...a wing that would do the space shuttle proud...fart can...I can just see THAT now! Just kidding, think the Cruze will be a great car. Chris
  4. ...it is an Icon...and it is timless...but I'd still rather have a 69 Cougar ragtop. Chris
  5. I agree 100%. We think about what we as a community of car nuts would buy rather than the average Joe on the street. But...giving credit to my wife and daughters...they are ALL starting to just HATE the Cube. They already hated the Soul. Kind of cool. The other day I suggested that we could do the laundry, clean out the garage, clean the kids rooms, mop the hardwood floors...or go test drive a new Cube and go out for Pizza. The house got cleaned! Chris
  6. If it doesn't have to be RWD, get a Cobalt coupe or a Focus or an Escout. IIRC, you are 6'5. Future of GM is like 6'11 and drives a Focus. The Focus has nice tall doors and the seats go back pretty far. I have a friend who has a Focus, and you can haul 6'5 people in the car with ease. Start there. Or...a really bad suggestion but...look for a TDI VW New Beetle. Seriously. Comfotable for tall people, great seats, slow, cheap to insure, 50 MPG...and did I mention slow... Chris
  7. ...one of mine... http://www.allford.net.au/1966%20Mustang%20convertible.jpg
  8. Looks like you have an interesting VW project there, Vipes. Chris
  9. ...'blu...I am feeling really good about GM for the first time in a really long time. I just have to trust that they will do the right thing. Chris
  10. ...and you thought I was silly for wanting you to keep that car. PERFECT car for you. Again....LOVE that car, and glad your showing it love and TLC! Chris
  11. In North Carolina with my family and we ate...Pizza. Our big meal is tomorrow so my sister and her family can join us. Had a nice glass of wine or two with dinner and I am just now relaxing and getting ready to watch the Texas/Texas A and M game with my father. Chris
  12. For me, just the opposite. LOVE the 49-50 Merc, esp. in original unmolested form...but love customs also. But I am a huge fanboi of the 69-70 Cougar. LOVE the eliminator. THAT car is the cats ass if you ask me! Had a guy offer to trade me a Cougar Eliminator in Grabber Blue for my 66 Mustang Fastback. Cougar was in fabulous condition. Turned the guy down...regretted it to this day. Other Mercury that was offered to me was the 1966 Mercury Cyclone GT Convertible, a red on white with a 4 speed, 390 car...just like the 1966 Indy pace car. Turned THAT guy down too. The 66-67 Cyclone design was really clean IMHO...love that car also. And the 64 Comet had really good lines, with its neatly sculped sides...one of the neatest cars ever from Mercury. The things a guy will do to hold onto an old Mustang. Chris
  13. Bingo, blu. Of all Camino's vehicles, I like the wagon the best! Chris
  14. Monza was a neat little car for its time. Chris
  15. Sorry to hear it drew. Amazing how easy it is to die...brother of a guy I know was killed yesterday in a simple fall at home. Hit his head and went to sleep...forever. But again, sorry for the loss. Hopefully his partner will have a better time of things after the grieving process. Chris
  16. Sweet Mary Mother of jesus...what a beautiful car. Always LOVED that bodystyle Buick. Wow...and the color...wow. Amazed! Chris
  17. Well...your out of debt and out of a payment. Like you said...time to regroup. Maybe now that GMC 454 71 Sprint will show up for $250 at a yard sale...hey you can always dream!!! Chris
  18. Decent little car for the money! Chris
  19. Agree with you there, Reg...I like the Fit better than you do, but I'm not sure it's top ten Material. The BMW, Miata, Cadillac, GTI, et al...hell yes! Chris
  20. Cool! Some one else sees my viewpoint on the small car thing. I don't expect the rest of you guys to want small cars...just want you to understand why I like them. Chris
  21. Sad to say that we may be reaching the end of what we can do with conventional gas motors. Cruze, if it really gets 40, should be killer. Chris
  22. I like Z06's formula! Chris
  23. Which is why I am glad PCS is doing what he is doing. Actually I have high hopes for the Holden thing. Chris
  24. They are about eleven billion times better IMHO. The Cruze should be a winner if the general can pull the fuel economy #'s they are talking. And I do think the VOLT will do VERY well for GM, thankyouverymuch. Chris
