  1. My younger teenage daughter (freshman in high school) did a girls night sleep over with several friends this last week end. they were out walking in a wooded area of a park when they came upon two lost Golden Retrievers that obviously had belonged to someone and been trained at one point. They called animal control, animal control found a chip or a tag on one of the dogs, got in contact with the owners...who got re-united with their beloved pets. VERY happy owners and the girls were really excited to have helped rescue the dogs. Camino she is the older of the two girls you met...and Olds...the one you met... Chris
  2. My wife uses 5-HTP and it works so well its almost silly, both for weight and for mood. Sisty-Six is a very happy boy when she's taking this stuff... Chris No, but try it...you will feel much better!
  3. Just buy the whole damned Cabrio. They have the horrid VW autotrajic tghat costs a fortune to rebuild, the dizzy female owners never change the fluid, and whole cars get crushed around here all of the time. I've seen a bunch of them go down at ACE iron and scrap, where I take copper wire when I scrap it. But you should be able to find a Cabrio with a blown tranny cheap...and get a AAA gold membership, register the car, or use the old owners registration...probably help you in getting it towed home. Or hell, if you find one in Ohio, I've got buddies with a truck and a trailer...I'd drop it off perhaps for the cost of fuel and a good lunch. Good luck, BV! Keep us posted. Oh, and congrats on the boyfriend you've had for awhile...glad life seems to be looking up for you.
  4. One of my life time best friends was one of my best friends from high school. He's chinese, and his mother is an award winning chinese chef, trained in China. You ahven't eaten real Chinese food until you've eaten real chinese food... Also...Satty...if your ever in Columbus, I can take you to a great hole in the wall thai resteraunt that uses no MSG...good food...actually great food...and cheap. Enjoy the TDI, the Cooper, and Jill. Chris
  5. Actually been doing that and loosing weight. I try to avoid fast food at all costs...
  6. Like the idea of a Toranado as well... Thought of you today, Drew. Some guy was getting gas at the station same time as I was...and then the panic alarm went off in his silver CRV, and they couldn't get it shut down...guys was real pissed at his CRV...thought you might find that funny...or not... I see sixties ford Trucks with the inline still working daily in farms around here...other than CFC or run it without fluids...you can't kill that thing.
  7. It's fiction, and as such I don't think its endorsing anything...other than buying a Subie. Subaru, Honda and Mazda build about the only decent Japanese cars IMHO.
  8. The Ford is going to be a better work truck hands down I think.
  9. The part of the Cruze I like the best is the snout...very purposeful from the front. The Ford just seems more polished to me...
  10. Whatever the case, its a really nice truck. GOOD use of $, I think...
  11. I like how you are leaning towards the Ford....
  12. I need to go camping with my family this summer...son's scout group just went and he had a great time...
  13. ...oh...and don't expect much fuel economy with the Ford 300 inline six. About 13-14 mpg...but the thing will make torque...and run forever...I've seen a bunch of them go past 300K without a rebuild. Pulled LOTS of trailers with the Ford 300 six in a truck like htat...the inline six....I think that's what was in Balthazar's truck before it got CFC'd. Megaorgasmic...what is this...the 1970's? Sounds kind of cool, actually...
  14. I like that about eleven billion times better than the Dakota. The Dakota isn't a bad truck...but that full sized Ford is just sweet!
  15. I keep active and physical, which is about the best I can do right now...but I need to work harder at loosing weight...
  16. We do without a functional TV set for just that answer... One in four teenage girls has an STD, I think I read somewhere... Not surprising...I have two teenage daughters...I know how many of their friends sleep around...there are 15 year old girls that get laid more often than the whole C and G family combined... Essentially at C and G we are a bunch of mildly dysfunctional guys who use our computers to escape reality... Works for me, although I'm overweight and your not. But I enjoy salads, and eat quite a few of them.
  17. I would agree I like the Focus a little better. Would also wager that the Focus might have a little bit better fit and finish in the paint department also, as Ford seems to be doing better and better here... Sonata is becoming a hot car in the entry level segment, methinks... ...say it with me one more time...gently used Astra...ten grand cheaper...
  18. I'd be partial to the Ranger, but I'm the only one on the site here who would...nice truck that Dakota is...but like Satty said, at least a couple grand over priced...$4500 would be utter top dollar and then some as far as I am concerned... GLAD to see that your looking at manual shift trucks, really do prefer them... And also glad to see that your doing the cash thing. Think I will do that as well...one of the guys who does heating and cooling work her in Columbus just bought an HHR for his seventeen year old daughter to drive to school...42K, 2007, 2LT, red, and he paid like $7500 for it...and it's effin clean. Good luck dude... Only gremlins I've heard of are tranny issues, but thats only with the autotrajics as far as I know.
  19. My daughter did... This is true!
  20. 1969 Cadillac Fleetwood http://www.flickr.co...v16/4516884976/ ...and this is part of the reason that I am still alive. Holloween night, my sophomore year of high schoolw as riding with friends, and we wrecked one of these at over one hundred miles per hour. Some damned good GM engineering, if I do say so myself...
  21. When I was a kid, after my grandmother died, my grandfather started dating a woman who drove one of these. GREAT car to ride around in as a kid, and probably a big part of the reason I love GM so much back in the day. Mother had a great aunt that had a four door version of that...almost became my first car, but lucky I got my 70 Chevelle instead! 1969 Buick Electra 225 ragtop http://www.flickr.co...v16/4489291967/
  22. I want one also, but I want a 1960's Chevrolet (or better yet, GMC) half ton...just to cruise around in... My love for 1950's cars seems to grow every day...I miss my 55 Chevrolet!
  23. I don't think Satty could stand the competition with the Trans Am in the sarcasm department...
  24. I would agree with you guys...evolution is really cool....I love stuff like this! I saw that video before, funny stuff, blu...
  25. You and I are in the minority on the one series, 'blu, but I would agree with you...
