  1. Let us take this as a gentle lesson: 1960 and 1961 Lincoln sedans.
  2. How did you know I was talking about you?
  3. Let me go on record as saying I did not like the bustleback Seville. If something as grand as the Avenir were to grace a Buick showroom and provide a flagship worthy of the brand, I would hope the deck would be a bit longer. But at least in its current form it is not so much without romance as the Continental is in general shape.
  4. Too many words in some of these replies. Makes one nod off and miss the message.
  5. Did you say "the many feces of Lincoln"?
  6. "Spoiler" is an apt descriptor, because that is what they do to the looks of 100% of the Buick Sport Touring lineup. Now, the Encore with the new more powerful engine, THAT is worth the price of admission in a Buick S/T-Type.
  7. Still your opinion though... And everybody is entitled to one... I for one...thinks that the Continental far outshines the Avenir...because the Avenir....does look awkward... Good from far...but faaaaaaaar from good....is all Im sayin'... And what is that? A Wraith? A brick of a car that has no style...but costs a fortunes that is why people go goo-goo ga-ga over it....no style is what Im sayin' At least the Continental is lowered closer to the ground and less of a brick...is alls Im sayin'... But the Avenir and Wraith does have it beat in one area though...RWD and both are NOT V6s... Re-read my edited version and see if you got anything else for me.
  8. Oh I have no problemo with the chrome, inside or outside, on the Continental. I think it is a refreshing change to see a car proud to be American, even if I believe the overall look is British. Avenir is still a smashing success, and far outshines the Continental overall though. And is that a Wraith? SWEET. One of the problems with Lincoln, they do not have any kind of permanent set of successful styling cues to cling to, because they didn't stick with anything long enough to gain icon status. Besides the '41 and '61 Continentals, and the '56 and up Mark series, they got NOTHIN'. Luxury cars like Cadillac, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, BMW and Mercedes all have remained relatively true and recognizable through the decades... Lincoln keeps trying something new and they always seem to fall flat. If the lower chrome trim is just plated plastic, then yes, it will be too soft to fend off damage from stones. If it is stainless steel or something of the like (similar to the old-skool cars pictured), then it should stand strong against the elements.
  9. DUDE, YOU'RE STILL WAITING FOR VTEC TO KICK IN, YO?
  10. Haha, don't get me started on rear spoilers. HATE 'EM. I rued the day GM made them standard on the current Camaro, and I never liked the 4th gen F-bodies because the rear spoilers were integral to the decklid. I applaud Ford for giving us a "spoiler delete" option on the Mustang. Back in the day, I would take an LX 5.0 notchback over a festooned GT any day of the week, just because of its low, sexy deck. I feel the same about these Sport Touring Buicks. To denote a sport trim, wouldn't you really rather have a Buick with darkened wheels and lights and black chrome trim... instead of a spoiler, which is hopelessly passe?
  11. Anything from GM, from Spark to (shameful aluminum) CT6 and beyond.
  12. Good pictures. I see Bentley in it. The '61 Continental did not look like anything else.
  13. Too many buttons on the center stack of earlier LaCrosses, imo. The later ones are simplified (better for the seniors).
  14. When choosing a campground, always pick one that allows you to pack light. Have a good weekend, all.
  15. Similar "math" was used to chide the Chevrolet Volt when it was introduced. Autoblog has a decent write-up on the situation. http://www.autoblog.com/2015/08/10/tesla-does-not-lose-4000-each-model-s/ Yes, "math" in reference to a "car". I know, General Motors had trouble with math too. But they were too big to fail...
  16. New Tacoma interior is retro in a decidedly 1950's cheesy Japanese science fiction way.
  17. Drew you might be interested in knowing the 2016 Encore Sport Touring has the new 1.4t engine from the new Cruze with 153 hp and 177 ft/lbs torque. Have you seen it? I saw it on Buick's media page.
  18. Looks like it's missing a few pieces, let's put it that way. My airdam was taken off before I brought the truck home. And I get great fuel mileage for a 305-hp V6 4X4 pickup truck. The Tacoma just looks rinky-dink and purposely hideous.
  19. We had an old International 1850 10-wheeler with a steel grain body. Unladen, that thing would go anywhere. We also had a Ford Louisville 10-wheeler with an aluminum grain body. It wouldn't go ANY.WHERE. unladen. A dewy morning and it would be stuck on the grass.
  20. OK cool!
  21. Still has to be programmed to the car. The radio frequency will be new, so any older transmitters that still work will need programmed too.
  22. They can lure disloyal designers from any company they want. If the bones are junk, that will remain as underlying truth.
  23. Sounds a bit personal, but yeah, butter works I guess.
