  1. Some pleasant surprises in what's available.
  2. Is it any wonder that I want one of these so badly?
  3. Is the guy on the left a Philly native?
  4. A solid maybe - best I can do.
  5. Nice. If they did the Nomad body...
  6. Yeah, someday I'll fix it. So, anyone like the tune? Know the band?
  7. That thought crossed my mind as well. Wheelbase could be an issue, I'd have to research that.
  8. I have speakers, and the sound used to work. Just have to dive into the why of it not working now.
  9. I have come to love machines for the twisties more than anything else over the years, but I was raised on musclecars and dragstrips, and part of my automotive soul will always live there.
  10. The way I look at it is that enough Nomads have already been converted over the years, so I would never cut one up. But if I ever run across a nice one and have cash on hand, I'm buying it. I love phantoms, but I couldn't kill a real Nomad to create one.
  11. Whew! Got back a shred of my dignity after that last stumper. Keep'em coming!
  12. Real cars.bmp
  13. Which makes all the difference. The Nomad tailgate adds a nice touch as well - can't beat that slant and the chrome strips.
  14. Tried to find pics of 55-57 Nomads converted to El Caminos. No luck. The well done ones look so factory it's amazing.

    Ahhh snow

The kids in question weren't terribly bright nor stable, and most likley quite high at the time. It was fun to watch them ride before the crash. That ended the canoe rides.
  16. A very natural conversion - the lines are perfect for it. I've seen many of them that were sweet (55-57) I'd never cut up a Nomad to do it, but I'd buy one converted back in the day.
  17. That's just hilarious, especially parked next to the big Ford.
  18. Yes to the Magnum, or better yet, the Challenger. No to the painfully ugly Monte, even the Lumina was better looking than that.

    Ahhh snow

Lots of my cars/trucks have had names. I'll never forget that kid in the canoe ducking at the last possible second as the canoe plunged undeneath a cyclone fence at about 30MPH. He was damn lucky. And stupid. He was the only one of about 5 or so who didn't bail out before reaching the fence.
  20. What a mental image that is!
  21. Too many possibilities here... The "in part" qualifier made me think of Louis Chevrolet.

    Mom's Car

My aunt replaced her '70 with an '86 IROC. My Uncle kept the Chevelle until the early 90s when he sold it for 2 grand. The new owner happily motored away in it.
  23. I sincerely hope that the Camino stays dead if the alternative is an FWD version. I just couldn't tolerate that, I'd probably be arrested for vandalizing them on the lot.
  24. Noooooo!
