  1. Not sure on the 3800s...
  2. Oxygen sensor, I'm willing to bet.
  3. I still need a whole new answer - things are not good.
  4. Someone needs to save this car. Roger?
  5. I remember all of that stuff (Diamond P etc.) but never owned any tapes. Hell, I remember when the networks used to cover major NHRA events! I'd try some drag racing-related sites/boards and check out their classifieds. Good luck from someone who remembers "The Snake", "The Mongoose", and "Grumpy"...
  6. There is a small chance that I'll be out of town at some point in March, but that month sounds like the better bet.
  7. It would simply be wrong not to have Camaro officially involved in NHRA. Glad to hear about the Pontiacs.

    Kia K9

K9? They can't be serious about that name.
  9. Interesting since the pic I posted is a production '97. Maybe they were thinking of doing minor tweaks instead of the full MCE they did in '98?
  10. I don't like E-bodies either, but they had such brash presence and an in-your-face elegance much like the Sixteen. That long nose makes it work. I just don't see any of that in the XTS.
  11. I love the interior - but you almost have to stand outside of the car to appreciate it as it is so small.
  12. You know, what I think I was expecting from this car was a modern interpretation of an E-body. Something so obviously upscale and obviously Cadillac that I could respect it even if I didn't care for the design.
  13. It's gorgeous in person, I'll try to get some better pics before it gets sold.
  14. A few so-so pics of the car that don't do it justice:
  15. Really? Looks more like a fat fendered version of the early fourth gen to me. Can't be a sketch of the MCE - looks nothing like it. Has to have been mislabeled.
  16. The car is all 50s in design and tech even though it is a '67. But I do get why people fall in love with them. The thing just reeks of cool. Tiny seats, tiny doors, giant steering wheel - none of that matters very much when driving it. In nice weather, with the top down, it would be a real hoot to cruise around some windy roads.
  17. The Healey has a very different drive to it. I found the gearing of the trans to be a bit odd, and the ride is rough with a capital "R", but it has a huge fun-factor going for it. If I spent a week with it, I think I'd both like it more and be glad to be back in my Tahoe. It would be a fun car to find the limits of although living with one daily would get old. Neat little piece of history.
  18. Apples and oranges. I may not like the execution of the XTS, but a FWD-based Caddy is a far more legitimate entry in the market than one from MB or BMW would be. Those two have zero history building FWD luxury cars - but Cadillac does. The wreath and crest still has meaning, in fact it has a reputation on the upswing. My opinion is that the XTS doesn't move it forward very much, but as a brand, Cadillac's identity is solidifying generally. Far be it from me to endorse the XTS, but it isn't the embarassment you seem to think it is.
  19. Sad. Good luck to you, Ocn.
  20. I hope you don't find my criticisms of this car to be vitriolic (I certainly don't think they are). I think the car is disappointing yes, but I don't think my points are without merit or hyper-critical. For what it's worth, I expected the car to be FWD-based. I was prepared to accept that. However, I also expected a desgn home-run, and the XTS doesn't pass muster on that front. It didn't live up to the hype that preceded it. I expected better, much better.
  21. There is an absolutely deadly Pantera that comes to the local cruise night sometimes - stunning beast. Think Ford GT on steroids, and you'll get the idea. Wish I had a pic.
  22. Must be because I've been immersed in British cars all day. Pulled the drivetrain from one of the race cars, and spent some quality time exercising the Healey 3000 today. People really point and stare when you drive something like that around!
  23. Unfortunately, I guess I'm a No. The guy buying the Mothertruck should be here to complete the deal this weekend. I don't know which day yet, so I can't commit.
  24. Congrats, my friend, all the best to you both!
