  1. Love the new sig! Nice to see another Zeta sig around here.
  2. That about sums it up, for now.
  3. Have you checked the belt? And how about the fluid level?
  4. Thanks, but you'd have to cut this piece out from the C4C donor. It is a structural member and I think the less invasive method of using a patch panel will make a better and stronger repair. It took a while to find a place that has them, the aftermarket hasn't really caught up to these vehicles yet. From GM the part was the for the whole rear opening and cost over $800 list! It has been discontinued anyway, so aftermarket or custom fabrication are the only options. I haven't explained this all that well, but it is a very strange situation to say the least. The whole part in question is a serious chunk of the vehicle - think doorjamb. It is a huge, reinforced piece that interfaces with the floor, quarter panels, and roof! Mine only rotted right around the hinges at the bottom of the tailgate - the rest of it is solid.
  5. TH350 is a better trans anyway...
  6. Minor update: I ordered the nuetral safety switch I need from GM and may have located a place to buy the patch panel(s) I need to fix the tailgate hinge mount area.
  7. I know, I know... I still intend to flip it... As of right now, anyway.
  8. I think we need all the details on this one.
  9. I really am liking the Blazer...
  10. Should have guessed that Zaino made good stuff for leather - I swear by it for paint.
  11. No matter what cars are in my fleet, I always want to drive the most recent acquisition the most. Since the Blazer hit the road, the wagon has been sleeping in the barn and the Silverado has done quite a bit of driveway sitting. It has close to four times the mileage of the truck and the wagon is still a "freshly done" project, yet I choose to drive this old soldier most often these days. I'm sure the manual trans. has something to do with it.
  12. I always make sure to stomp on the Duramax when I pass these clowns. :AH-HA_wink: I can't understand why they have to be that way.
  13. Good advice. Newer appliances tend to be much more energy-efficient, but many are really junky and short term. A really good old one might cost a bit more to run but be much better built. Trade-offs abound.
  14. Old, decent quality, appliances are worth fixing in many cases. The new ones not so much.
  15. Drove the Blazer to the bank the other day and when I came out there was a yellow 2010 Camaro SS parked next to it. First one I've noticed with the moonroof.
  16. Not as much as the owner thinks. These are not especially collectible, say 10-15 grand at best. A street rod version would bring more money.
  17. For many of the twits riding around here it is all attitude and swagger. They are full of this indignant sense of entitlement to the road and think nothing of blocking traffic for miles on end. What's worse is that they form massive groups and even stop in the middle of the road en masse to bull$h!, rest, have a drink, etc. Zero respect for cars. I hate them.
  18. Not exactly what I had in mind...
  19. Pretty sharp.
  20. Tundra has been a substandard POS from day one - I nominate it as the worst product Toyota has ever released.
  21. I've used the Lexol stuff to good effect, but can't claim to have really compared it to competing products.
  22. Sounds fantastic to me! I had myself salivating just typing that last post, the only thing better is surf and turf!
  23. They did share a common platform, the sheetmetal (and engines for much of their history) not so much. The panels were close, but not the same.
  24. Yup, that's how it goes around here - most of these guys locally are total asshats. The Prius thing cracked me up, just priceless.
