  1. Count me as another "semi-local" that had no idea those roads had numbers. I do remember them being filled with (now faster) cops. :AH-HA_wink:
  2. I'm so happy that I've still never purchased a TV!
  3. Are you thinking new wheels to go with the black paint?
  4. Nice view!
  5. Cubitar nailed it. I had that very same matchbox... in green IIRC.
  6. Love the Lark and the '74 Goat!
  7. I'm with the crowd here, make the Fleetwood right and your problems will go away. Beats the hell out of a new monthly payment.
  8. I guarantee you that I would have stopped that car.
  9. 4th gens are real performers, but they just won't work with the LeMons rules without a bunch of questions. 3rd gens can work within the rules and be made to perform almost as well - so I see the 3rd gen as a better choice for LeMons. Personally, the "real" race car has more appeal for me but I'm fine with either choice and will help in whatever way I can when the time comes.
  10. Ah well, I took a shot. I guess the real point I was making is the shades of meaning. I love language.
  11. So far, the blue I was thinking of hasn't been posted...
  12. Of course I could be completely wrong. :AH-HA_wink:
  13. spedire - literal, casual, a generic form of the verb "to send", as in "I sent a letter" mandare - more specific, authortarian, a mandate, as in "sent on a mission" or "sent on my behalf"
  14. differente - literal, not the same as, concerning two things diverse - broader, indicates a range of differences
  15. I don't know Italian, but i can see shades of meaning that separate each of the pairs you gave as examples. The first pair: Questione - As in "begs the question", a topic or subject for consideration, a noun domanda - I see "demand" in there, a more direct question, easily a verb And so on
  16. I have a feeling that someone will get this "just right" sooner or later.
  17. I kinda like the "real" race car idea... A 4th gen would be great for that. I'd go 3rd gen for LeMons.
  18. I like them both, but my choice is obvious...
  19. It's like driving a very quiet, smooth riding, aircraft carrier with alien controls. Everyone loved it. Here's the car at the church: By CaminoLS6
  20. At my friends' daughter's wedding. I borrowed a '59 Bentley from my former employer and did the driving duties. It went over well, and I was glad to be able to make it happen. Could have done without the lousy weather though.
  21. Quite the thread hijack. On the original topic, here's my thought: None of us has an F-ing clue what the truth is - including the scientists.
  22. To me the "sedan doors" are a detail I could do without, and the slope of the rear pillars is too upright for the look I prefer... BUT I still loved the ST as it was intended to be, this beautiful chop simply outclasses it by an order of magnitude. An El Camino completely worthy of the name.
  23. Not sure how, nor how much, I can help. But I'll do what I can.
  24. What ST? Absolutely hot, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
  25. The last time I bought a pair of sneaks, I tried on at least a dozen pair before I found one that was comfortable. They are NB.
