  1. OK. I went to look at a '71 GMC Sprint today. It was oddly equipped in that it had some items that should only have been on an SP (GMC's version of SS), yet it clearly isn't an SP. What it is is a 350 with a three speed manual and an SP dash with a tach and a black steering column. Odd and interesting, but likely too rusty to save. The owner plans to part it out. I'll post a pic or two later.
  2. HBD, Cubitar.
  3. Cool!
  4. Post your pics first!
  5. Roger: Go ahead and post your pics, I may not get to the rest of mine for a while. I will be kinda busy today, and many of mine are caminos anyway. :AH-HA_wink: Now I have to go take a look at a rare GMC...
  6. Any luck with this, DF?
  7. DF: As was said by Z and Ocn, that '75 Camino is as built as far as the body goes. But the car was a project of something like ten years and just finished late last year. Every detail has been given its due attention and the color is the deepest, darkest black cherry you'll ever see. The pic does not do it justice.
  8. Yeah, but you sat in the ST! I don't know if you can view this without registering, but it is more Camaro eye-candy. http://chirpthird.com/vb/showthread.php?t=14229
  9. ...and one final point for the evening. BV, you're a dweeb for not showing up! Oh, and this:
  10. Oh yeah, quite a few colonnade cars this year!
  11. I had a really good time at the show this year, but I'm really tired so I'll just give you some quick bullet points and post a few of my pics until tomorrow. -Drove a new Camaro 1SS 6spd: reaction very favorable. -Argued with GM engineers about fuel cell vs. I.C.E. : fun -Saw SLP's amazing new supercharged Camaro prototype and shot the breeze with Dave and Ed Hamburger. -Had a brief exchange with a very busy Fbodfather -Saw more El Caminos than I've ever seen in one place before - Found some potential items for my projects -Walked the show for hours with Ocnblu -Ran into my friend, Joe and shot the breeze with him -Met up with the El Camino Central.com crowd OK. Pics:
  12. I'll post more details later along with some pics.

    Carlisle

It was fun: drove a new Camaro, walked many miles, now I'm tired.

    Ugh,

Today was the nicest day all year, I think. Great weather in Carlisle.
  15. Leaving shortly.
  16. Everyone's a joker tonight!
  17. HA! You read my mind, Satty. If I decide not to do the repair here, that's exactly how it will get to the shop! No pics of the hinge rust yet - I'll attack that after this problem is solved. I promise to post pics.
  18. Now I need to decide a real course of action.
  19. "Mileage exceeds the mechanical limits" or "True Mileage Unknown" or "mileage exempt" Not the issue it once was...
  20. Thanks for the lead, WMJ. I think I'll go open it up right now. The suspense is killing me - I have to know what's broken!
  21. I've decided to change the text back to my original thought when I wanted to use the pic of the Body-in-white. "The dream can't be dead, if it's still in my head"
  22. *Ahem*
  23. I finally stole a few minutes to start diagnosing the driveline clunk this afternoon. I put the Blazer up on jackstands, fired it up, put it in gear, and let it idle , spinning the wheels. I got out and listened to where the noise was coming from. The good news is that it isn't the transfer case. The bad news is that it's the rear diff. I may start taking it apart tonight. I dropped by the dealership and had them look up all the option codes/history using the VIN. So I may need a 3.42 locking rear.
