  1. WTF is with that site?!! I clicked the link and got bombarded until my machine froze completely. I had to cut the power to get out of it.
  2. Remember my Chesterbrook Cruise Night photos? Yeah well, I didn't take any pics of the 80s Camino that was there with bling wheels and Buick portholes. I was nearly ill at the sight of it, and everyone walked right past it without taking a closer look. I made sure to stand at least 10 feet away from it in case it was contagious.
  3. An inane decision. But it sparked a very well-written post fom Longtooth.
  4. Hmm, seems to me so far that the GME crowd is only good at killing things rather than creating them. My initial question remains unanswered.
  5. Exactly. Not to mention that the surviving brands under this plan are weaker than those slated for extinction. And, that GM as a whole will look like a complete lost cause the moment they announce such a plan, driving even more customers away. This plan is a death sentence pure and simple.
  6. Yes, it will get messy. But, I don't think we will step into it directly - unless they force our hand. See, Israel will not tolerate a nuclear Iran no matter what we say. If Israel fells that a real threat exists, there will be craters in specific parts of Iran in a big hurry. When Sadaam got too close to it, Israel bombed his facilities into oblivion. They will do the same to Iran if that country overplays its hand. We will get the blame of course, but the chances of us actually engaging Iran in a pre-emptive way are slim to none. Of course this will be yet another excuse to drive oil prices up even higher.
  7. No matter how the power is obtained, the results of it being used are what matters. I think our little census might give a small indication of the costs of making product mistakes could be. In their self-assured zeal to "re-make " GM, the new regime seems to me to be poised for a rude awakening.
  8. It also lessens the problem of old gas in the tank for drivers that use the Volt in all-electric mode most of the time. Sounds like an improvement to me.
  9. I still don't have an answer to my question. Just what, exactly, will this "new GM" have to offer? We've seen little of any consequence. The messenger has thus far only carried news of doom for what we now have with no positive alternatives being offered. So, I ask again, what "gotta have" cars are they planning to offer? I'm afraid that I already know the answer.
  10. Any brand GM kills will be gone forever.
  11. Ah, so it is a vendetta? Did you really love the FWD Pontiacs that much? My point is that GM needs a mix - always. An all RWD brand wouldn't prevent that. There are plenty of brands, right? A few good RWD performance products should always be available in several price ranges across the brands. As should economical FWD sedans, good trucks, comfortable FWD cruisers, pure luxury cars, and so on.
  12. The link to the numbers is above. As for changing things, I don't expect any amount of reason or logic could affect certain folks in the midst of a power grab. I do intend for you to know how we all feel about it though. And I promise that I won't enjoy getting to say "I told you so" in a few years.
  13. That wasn't the question. But, since you brought that up, GM is about to make the same mistake it made back then once more. It is panicking it's way into being a one-trick pony all over again, and will be caught with its collective pants down... again. A mix of vehicles is what's needed, not a one-size-fits-all sedan.
  14. Yes, yes it does.
  15. You have ulterior motives. The numbers are right - you are one of the nine who won't consider Pontiac out of 52 members here.

    Hey PCS

Is there anything good in your boss' vision of the new GM? Seriously, where are his "gotta have" products? We've yet to see anything worth talking about. Is it really all about bland, midsize FWD sedans? Surely there must be something.
  17. Think we could talk them into offering one with a bed? :AH-HA_wink:
  18. Then it's time for my side to use the nuclear option.
  19. I'm guessing that all my friends at GM are being usurped as we speak.
  20. Yes. But it was enough work as it is. :AH-HA_wink: For Pontiac, the Solstice and the G8 were most often mentioned.
  21. In that case it is time for a civil war. Or a new car company.
  22. I have some left? Seriously, that plan is moronic.
  23. Lookin' good!
  24. No car guy worth his salt would do that. He and the fat lady should take a hike over to Toyota where they might do some good.
