  1. A good 5 minutes just now to get from the front page into the forums (required 2 attempts)
  2. The FJ problem isn't a "unibody" fracturing, the FJ is a body on frame vehicle. It would be more accurate to say that the FJ has an issue with the inner body structure cracking.
  3. I know, but it got me thinking about how it might be done.
  4. No, I really can't make that work right now.
  5. All of this makes me wonder how do-able a retractible B pillar would be.
  6. Subscription required to view the page.
  7. Fly just doesn't want me to go ballistic in the Mod forum again. :AH-HA_wink:
  8. Just got this in my email: untitled.bmp
  9. I've been busy over the last few days, and a good bit of progress has been made. Now installed: New brake booster and master cylinder - detailed/ painted had to make the gasket between the booster and the firewall. re-conditioned and detailed spindles - had to clean and re-use the rubber gasket between the dust shield and the spindle (NAPA had know idea what I was talking about) re-conditioned/detailed dust shields upper and lower control arms with new ball joints and bushings new gas shocks the rest of the front suspension except for the sway bar - new outer tie rod ends steering box I painted the new calipers, rotors, and rear drums and would have the front all installed but NAPA gave me the wrong wheel bearings. pics:
  10. The link is posted in their special edition forum.
  11. Wilmington isn't a lower capacity plant, it is just running at a lower capacity. Much of the plant is unused.
  12. T-tops would look goofy on this car.
  13. I think you missed the point...

  18. I used to have lots of them - gave them away years ago.
  19. 1085 unique views, 40 people watching, I hope that translates to a sale soon. I dropped the "buy it now" to $16,500 - hope that does the trick.
  20. Your points are valid and understood, but that doesn't make what those of us on the other side are saying any less valid. Someone needs to step up and make things like affordable hardtops a reality again, I just see this as a lost opportunity for GM to be the first to do so. The Camaro would have been an ideal car to do it on. The 4th gens lost big on style as well as usability, the 5th gen is going to be higher on both counts (even with the B pillar) but even V6 buyers buy a Camaro based mostly on style so to I see this as opportunity lost. I'd be willing to bet that if the Challenger were going to be pillarless, the Camaro would have been as well. Perhaps we should be blaming Chrysler for lacking the testicular fortitude to make that happen. :AH-HA_wink:
  21. Not insurance in the policy sense, just a margin of safety for your engine. I believe in erring of the side of caution when it comes to vehicle maintenance.
  22. The Silverado has a monitor, but I work the truck hard so I don't wait for it. It has come on before the 3k mark before, and slightly after 3k when the tech forgot to reset it. So, I think 3k is just right.
  23. Having to wait for a spot to park is a sure sign that too many people live in the area - time to move! :AH-HA_wink:
  24. You don't make history or legends by adhering to conformity. We need to make some legends.
