  1. You do have a point. I hate to admit that I didn't even realize that Saturn of Devon still existed. Newark isn't all that close, but West Chester is and there are others not too far away. There are plenty of Saturns around here generally, so I guess that would have an effect.
  2. Been really busy lately, so I'm not as far along as I would like. But here are the latest views anyway. The frame is farther along than the pics indicate, as is the firewall - one more full day should have them ready for paint. I may still remove the steering box and the rest of the suspension parts before painting. The other pics show the newly sandblasted control arms and crossmember and the hardware from the frame and firewall all labelled and bagged-up.
  3. Huge increase in power, improved idle quality, lower operating temperature, easier starting, etc. In short, it ran better in every way.
  4. Wow! the local picture there is SO different than it is here. On just the vehicles you mentioned, the situation here is completely different. I rarely see a Sonata but Camrys are everywhere, the Tundra is a non-starter and GMT 900s are everywhere in both pickup and SUV form. I'd love to see a state-by-state breakdown , or even a regional one.
  5. ... to hear that the Aura isn't selling up to expectations. I've been seeing quite a few on the road around here. I see more than one every day, and they do stand out in traffic.
  6. My money is on a bad cat. Made a HUGE difference on my Maserati when I replaced its cat.
  7. Saw a group of them lined up at the local BPG dealer this morning. Seen both Outlook and Acadia on the road too.
  8. Let's say I let my dogs out this morning and the result is two steaming piles in the yard, the net effect is the same as the Ion /Sentra debate. Obviously one was designed first, but they are both the same steaming pile.
  9. Toyota is a symptom, consumerism is the root cause. Myopic, individual greed is leading us into a decline the likes of which the US hasn't yet seen. Once we cease to be a supplier nation entirely we will have ceded our ranking as a true world power to those who still actually create goods. Buying foreign goods because there are no domestic choices is a sad thing, but buying them out of some sense of consumer fashion or on price alone is actively negative for the country as a whole. Even if the Japanese built a car or truck that I wanted (they don't), I would never buy one as I feel that it is simply wrong to do so. We all make our choices, but few see the cummulative costs involved, and many simply don't care. At least not yet.
  10. I'll keep my eyes open for you. Since I intend to make a regular thing out of this " find and fix" the old car thing, I'd bet that i'll be running across quite a few candidates for your project. There's this Vette I know about...
  11. Man, just awful. That's one reason I'll never live in the midwest. My guess on the car is Roadrunner.
  12. Fly has a thing for big cruisers. I like your 'Cudas, now start fixing them up! :AH-HA_wink:
  13. Update and new pics coming soon.
  14. Bang for the buck: Nova Cool with utility: A body wagon Sweet without the price tag: Any A body coupe that isn't a SS,442,GTO or GS
  15. I still like the Magnum.
  16. Nice Chevelle! 76: There are just too many to choose from, give us some more specifics about what you like/want and if this car is to be a keeper, resto, hotrod, cruiser etc.
  17. I like that!
  18. Thanks guys, it was nice to check something off of my "to do" list.
  19. I doubt that you will see a permanent lead by anyone for some time now, the margin is too slim and there are huge variables involved. China, the fickle American market, other growing markets around the globe, labor relations, health care costs, fuel costs, the currency market, Korean competition, Chinese competition, forthcoming models, and so on. I wouldn't bet too much on seeing a decisive winner anytime soon, let alone predict who it might be. Too many things affect the outcome.
  20. The older couple who bought it are absolutely in love with the car- so everyone wins. It's a very cushy ride.
  21. White Avenger? Sounds like some sort of racist vigilante. :AH-HA_wink:
  22. SOLD! At the buy it now price!
  23. That would just ruin your whole day, wouldn't it?
  24. Well, you all know it's not my kind of car, but it seems like a great deal considering the equiptment ,condition, and mileage. Hopefully, someone will agree.
