  1. Easy there, Mr. Krinkle. You have now twice taken direct potshots at me and I think you know that they aren't accurate. The rolleyes smiley was simply a shortcut to express how I felt about your previous post. I am quite capable of a detailed and well thought out response, I simply felt that it wasn't worth the effort on such an old topic. Discuss away if you wish, I haven't tried to stop you. Had I wanted to, simply locking the thread would have done the trick quite nicely.
  2. I expect to be there.
  3. X2
  4. Too bad my wagon isn't done yet, and that I don't have the free time. That car would be the perfect beast for this kind of road trip. Room for the crew and their gear. :AH-HA_wink:
  5. Congrats on the find! I'm looking forward to updates and lots of pics.
  6. Obviously these figures exist, but gaining access could be an issue. Would be great to see them though.
  7. Another, if minor, reason for me to favor McCain.
  8. Thanks so much for posting these pics! It's great to get a glimpse of the process. While I really like this car overall, I agree with Ocn about the ribbed tail lights. The one thing I have found to dislike about the G8 is those cheap-looking, Altezza-style tails. the clear lens, busy mish-mash behind the lens style of tails needs to die as a styling trend - they always look like crap.
  9. ... And, no service has even been shut off yet- period. This guy is suing based on what MIGHT happen in '08 at the earliest. Idiotic and unimportant.
  10. This thread isn't just a dead horse, that sucker has decomposed. Bottom line: Poorly chosen and misleading title on an article which amounts to a "maybe" at best, when you boil it all down. We are far more likely to see the proliferation of alternative fuels and propulsion technologies than a simple downsizing of the internal combustion engine. The V8 will likely hang in to the end of the ICE as a whole. The marginal difference between the fuel economy of a V6 vs. a V8 these days makes the whole thing seem rather pointless. A downsizing of the cars the engines are wrapped in seems far more plausible.
  11. Exactly. It really isn't a surprise in a nation that will sue over a hangnail and award millions for a hot coffee spill.
  12. I'm glad that SOMEONE is doing this trip! I wish I could do it myself. Isn't Carlisle GM nationals the same weekend that you plan to be in Lancaster, PA? That could be the grand Finale of the trip if the dates coincide and we can get a good showing of C&G members. You had better take the Buick, I want to see that thing!
  13. The lower fascia is the worst part, it looks like a goldfish.
  14. So your objection to a Solstice or a Sky is?
  15. Mission accomplished! And, now your car has a great story to go with it! I think a trip North will find its way onto my agenda sometime this year, maybe I'll have to have a drink at The Rusty Nail. :AH-HA_wink: I have a feeling that I'll be hitting Montreal too.
  16. The domestics have been hemmed-in by ever increasing regulation and unfair foreign competition for decades now. Additonally, there is a social undercurrent spurred by popular culture that lionizes everything Japanese and promotes the self-hate of Americans. To lay the blame at the feet of the domestics while ignoring the external conditions over which they have no control is absurd. The fact that they still exist at all is amazing in light of their unfair burdens. It is the greed and power of the "personal profit at all costs" mentality of Wall Street for short-term results while mortgaging the future that are the financial engine of disaster. Long-term, we are heading for the permanent decline in our standard of living if nothing is done.
  17. Fascinating thread! This takes things up a notch at C&G, thanks to all involved! OH, and keep it up.
  18. Even better! I'd like to have a Hawk someday.
  19. Marlin! Very cool to see that posted,HE.
  20. It's pretty simple really, foreign domination of any of our industries or markets is a net negative for the country as a whole. And, no amount of employment by foreign concerns will ever change nor ameliorate that fact.
  21. I'll post if I see something that fits the bill.
  22. I love that it's a real red like my GTO, not that orangey red GM has used for years. Finally found something I don't like: the tail lights (yuck!)
  23. Glad I could help, guys. The weird part is, the 'rati only had 39k on it at the time - so I didn't suspect the cat at first.
