  1. Not a bad recipe, the Groove has nailed the formula to make it look much larger and upscale and the good bits from the Trax would make it much better.
  2. For me, picking one of these is like choosing between three fatal diseases. Even so, if GM needs them in the market I'll cope. Beat: This one is really nasty and comes in third. Groove: Seems to be the most fully realized design of the three and I could see it making sense for some buyers. I would place it first in line to be considered for production. It even comes close to looking like it really is a Chevy. Trax: Wears its concept status a bit too prominently, but the AWD configuration gives it a leg up on the others in utility. I'd say this one shows the most promise if refined to production spec. My personal take: YUCK!
  3. Very creative and enjoyable, with glimmers of validity here and there. Kudos to The O.C. for the effort.
  4. Born and raised here, and there aren't many of us left. Most who live here are from somewhere else. I loved living here as a kid, but rampant development and an ever-increasing population density are conspiring to drive me out. I hate cities, and the sprawl taking over every square inch of southeastern PA is beginning to suffocate me. I really want to live in the center of 50 acres without a view of any neighbors. Additionally, the price of home ownership here is entirely absurd with modest suburban homes that are nudging a one million-dolllar price tag. Turns my stomach. With the influx of all these high -end developments, what I used to love about living here has all but disappeared. And yet, the notion of being driven from my hometown by these well-monied louts gets my stubborn streak going. I almost want to stay just to spite the bastards.
  5. This thing is simply beyond stupid. Lifted 4x4s, though not to my taste, can have real performance (off-road) advantages. This thing is simply a safety hazard.
  6. Yup, and they are both Heavy with a capital"H". I am toying with the idea of modifying the mounts to draw the bumper back in closer to the body on the Camino. On the wagon, it will go back on in stock configuration after blasting and painting. It looks like GM was toying with the idea of non-shock absorber bumpers for this bodystyle as the bumper is the standard grade thickness of earlier bumpers and could serve that purpose without reinforcement. Adding the reinforcement and shocks makes these things real battering rams ( Fly, don't ever let one of these hit you!)
  7. Thanks for the pic,WMJ. The company that makes the deck does offer that wood, but I had never heard of it. Now I have something to go on.
  8. More Still:
  9. This evening's work:
  10. My personal dislike for cars of this ilk aside, can't someone build one that is attractive to look at? Whoever does will likely own the market for these things.
  11. Backwoods spoiler?
  12. I can think of at least one reason for eyes that look like that...
  13. I'll keep my eye out for a clean Riviera since the others usually pass by me unnoticed. I do notice 1st gen Auroras though.
  14. Just add color and it's perfect.
  15. Let's ease up on the personal attacks here, passionate opinion is more powerful without them.
  16. Damn, Fly! Amazing!
  17. Didn't get back to it today - busy with other things and it was damp and a bit chilly out in the barn tonight. Should make progress tomorrow. Just as well, I'm pretty tired. :AH-HA_wink:
  18. I saw a Riviera today with HUGE friggin wheels, looked like a 4X4 driving down my road. Too bad too, it was super clean otherwise.
  19. Actually Boston was locked in legal battles with record companies and such . Third Stage was completed years before it was finally released. This business never seems to change, only the names are different.
  20. Good luck,YJ. I've been tempted more than a few times to buy a 1st gen bird.
  21. Happy birthday, Mista Biz!
  22. I was wondering why the post count from you has been so low lately, thanks for the update.
  23. [guilty pleasure mode] I would sooo love a Z8! [/guilty pleasure mode]
  24. Black and Blue showed me that video a while back, truly the most amazing scale model I have ever seen. Incredible work.
