  1. People love a train wreck - it's human nature. But when you discover Aunt Suzy crushed under the wheels, your attitude changes real quick. If you like your standard of living, you had better hope GM recovers.
  2. Happily, I get to agree with Evok for a change. :AH-HA_wink:
  3. If I'm reading this correctly, It is not the analyst we have a gripe with this time. It seems to me the reporter is at fault for an unsupported and inflamatory headline. Pontiac and Buick aren't going away. It costs a prohibitive amount of money to eliminate a brand. Buick is China's new automotive darling and improving with each new model here, has a great quality record and has been given the development funds to strengthen its lineup. Pontiac still sells very well and with the right new product, will become stronger in a reasonable period of time. The combination of Pontiac,Buick and GMC into a single sales channel will be the saving grace of all three. They will become much more focused as brands even as their lineups narrow. GM's main problems are at the corporate level, by that I mean the ones that could still spell disaster. The brands are really taking their own paths now, albeit too slowly, and product is genuinely improving at an increasing rate (again too slowly). The legacy, labor, and other corporate costs are the real boat anchor holding GM's ship back right now.
  4. Wow! That's one hell of a wreck, glad your Mom's ok. I bet it shook her up pretty good. It also looks like there are worse vehicles than a Blazer to roll. The passenger compartment did its job very well.
  5. Hey Lance, edit or delete your post so I don't have to. Personal attacks are not allowed here and the language is unnecessary. Consider this a friendly reminder. Toyoguy: Don't act like a troll, we ban trolls. Just another friendly reminder.
  6. Well, let me start by saying that I don't like any of the vehicles in this segment at all. All of them look dumpy and strangely proportioned to me. With that said the interior seems quite nice and it has a stance that looks more purposeful than the competition (maybe it has a wider track? looks that way). The nose could use some refinement and the gigantic headlights are a huge turnoff for me(but seem to be all the rage these days). The fender flares are a tad to high into the quarters and fenders but might look great dropped down a hair. The back comes off pretty well, if a bit tall overall and the exhaust tips and tallights look great. All in all a pretty damn good impression was left on me even though I hate all "cute utes".
  7. Just a few points from someone who will never be in this market. Mid size front drive sedans are nearly invisible to me, the Aura concept was not. Unfortunately, the production car is. A much better translation from concept to production than the G6 but they still lost me in the process. This might be a good thing for GM though, as I am hardly the target audience. Best Saturn sedan to date? Yes, without question. Gotta have? Well, no not really. Side note: I don't get the fixation everyone has with interiors. Of all the posted pics, none stands out as head and shoulders above any other and they all seem pretty livable. The only one that even borders on odd is the Camry (kinda b-movie spaceship looking) and even that one isn't too bad. Interiors are kinda low on my priority list I guess. I am tired of the center stack configuration with its large areas of blank dash. I'd like to see a more linear, horizontal style now and then.
  8. I stand corrected. I only knew the first 2 albums - one of which I believe I still have on vinyl! Thanks for the update.
  9. Wow! I forgot all about Asia. This reminds me of another short-lived band, any one remember The Firm?
  10. I expect great things.
  11. Thank you for posting on this topic my friend, we needed just this kind of input. Hope to see you in Carlisle this year.
  12. Since B&B's clue is from a different era and might not fit the description of progressive rock( although the band is awesome) I'll dredge up another one that fits the bill. Ah hell, another 4 that fit the bill. " Stand within the pleasure dome, decreed by Kublai Kahn" " Your sperm's in the gutter, your love's in the sink" "Years ago my heart was set to live,oh. And I've been trying hard against unbelievable odds" " You better close your eyes, better bow your head - Wait for the ricochet"
  13. B&B- I'm impressed! And no, I won't answer (it wouldn't be fair)
  14. Right band, wrong song.
  15. There are 4 separate quotes from 4 separate songs (including the sub title of the topic). Looks like NOS got the right band for one! Anyone for the others? Reg: one of the quotes is, in fact, YES. Which one?
  16. For which quote?
  17. Easily visible since they are highlighted by the lack of dirt. That is one Filthy Vette.
  18. Cool! Now someone chop it into the pic of the rear quarter.
  19. :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: I wish I had a pic of the Astro ventillation logo right now!
  20. No, my friend, for this challenge they are the right mushrooms! Perhaps I picked too tough of a clue to start with? I can give you an easier one. Here: "Virgin land of forest green, dark and stormy plain" OR: " Me? I'm just a lawnmower. You can tell me by the way I walk."
  21. Judging by the pic, that car is exceptionally clean. What a beast!
  22. Oh, almost forgot, extra credit for I.D.ing the Topic subtitle. :AH-HA_wink:
  23. OK, if you don't know what progressive rock is watch and learn. If you do, guess the Band, song and or album from the provided clue. If you guess correctly, post your own clue. I'll start with: "Something's wrong from the moon my friends. Something's wrong from the moon. As I look down at you my friends, something's wrong from the moon."
  24. MUUUUUAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!
