    Shoes

Worn-out sneakers Worn-out boots Worn-out docksiders Dress shoes for funerals and weddings Shoes are over-rated and cut into my car budget, sort of like clothes. :AH-HA_wink:
  2. Too bad man, fight them for a decent settlement don't let them get away with low-balling it.
  3. Nice job, Tama.
  4. Nothing sad about it. The bright spots are obvious and fast becoming more numerous. I say decades because I had to live through the most awful time for all cars, the late '70s and all of the 80's. The bright spots were even harder to find then as most cars didn't even equal their 1970 counterparts in many ways. The '90s were a decade of bland, if capable, cars for the most part and now things have finally shifted toward unique and exciting design. GM will be just fine soon.
  5. Beat me to it,NOS. I was just going to mention timing.
  6. Their "Like" ad is outstanding.
  7. Agreed. And Toyota can take over as the stodgy, boring, behemoth hawking their unchanging vanilla.
  8. It certainly has been for the last few decades, but I have hope for the future that I did not even a few years ago. I see an increasing number of bright spots poking through the dark cloud.
  9. Hmm, I think the Aura will do just fine. It certainly is the best Saturn sedan to date and finding serious actual quality differences in this segment requires splitting hairs. Perception, of course, is another matter and will take time. However, GM has certainly changed my mind about Saturn which is no mean feat. I always saw Saturn as an extreme error from the start, I now see it as a viable and rising division of GM. I think we will see a large bump in Saturn sales over the next few years.
  10. What kind of racing and what do the rules allow? Does the car have to be street legal?
  11. There are non-oiled high flow filters out there, check into that.
  12. Freakin' ouch! What an idiot, hitting a parked car like that. Sorry to see it,Decka. Hope it works out ok.
  13. I was just thinking in terms of marketing.
  14. See? :AH-HA_wink:
  15. Onstar Advanced ?
  16. Let's tone down the insults please.
  17. And maybe they realize that Saturn has gotten a good push with Aura,Sky,Outlook, and the upcoming Vue and that its time to work on and invest in Pontiac. A matter of priorities.
  18. Because they are not cost-effective, have over-inflated MPG ratings, because running the AC/heat drops them down to fuel economy numbers that standard cars can reach, because they are not panacea, because they are funny looking, because they are not fun, because they are a fad for the PC population...
  19. I've seen 'em and interest isn't so bad on '04-'06 used. Insurance has a lot of factors affecting it - call and get a quote on a few different cars and compare. My insurance is cheap, but I have a few discounts based on age, driving record, multiple vehicles et cetera. 20k is going to put you in the 20,000 - 30,000 mile range on a GTO, a couple grand more can drop the mileage way down, either way the factory warranty should still be in effect and extendable.
  20. This is exactly what I have in mind once I sell-off the current fleet(or part of it). I tend to ping-pong between new and classic.
  21. For the price of a lightly used GTO? Not me.
  22. Again I agree. It will be interesting to follow.
  23. I get past this by cutting down on non-essentials like shoes and clothing. :AH-HA_wink: Just ask anyone who knows me. Seriously though, I would buy an old GM before I'd ever look to a new asian car. In fact that's been my pattern, if I need to cut back I just find an old GM car that interests me. I'll be doing exactly that pretty soon. Yes Z, there is at least one Zeta in my future.
  24. Agreed. I have to believe that the UAW can read the writing on the wall. A sea-change needs to occur in this aspect of things.
