  1. We're just dreaming about different things nowadays. If only that were true. Sadly, it isn't. Instead of dreaming about the future, we now squabble over equal shares of a declining standard of living - and pat ourselves on the back about how fair we are being to everyone. It's disgusting. But it is true. Just because it isn't manifested in physical styling exercises at auto shows, doesn't mean imagination in general is stagnant. People's imaginations are running wilder than ever, you just need to look in places you never have before or wouldn't expect. We'll just have to agree to disagree, I guess. And I'm not just talking about show cars.
  2. I've still only seen 3 total, but this is an affluent area.
  3. Despite the absurd sales estimate from Fiat, it's still a bit early to call this a failure, I think.
  4. The ad is very short on detail, but it certainly looks like a steal.

  6. This sort of car used to be my default choice when hunting cheap, reliable, transportation. Times have changed, and this is no bargain cruiser, but still a worthy purchase.
  7. Price-based Jeers. They'd have to prove the mileage as I have my doubts.
  8. To each his own. I have always found the bustlebacks to be disgusting. This car is elegant, tasteful, and well-proportioned - it's a proto-CTS.

  10. True. The pics are lousy. But even I (sedan hater, and not a Caddy fan) like the car itself.

  12. The phrase certainly raises questions, I'll give you that. In the example you posted, my first question would be about when it was using oil. Before or after the head work? Has it run since? Why is it still apart? And so on.
  13. Could be the last chance you'll get, so why not?
  14. These looked so much better before the big bumpers, but a 2-door wagon with a manual? How could I not cheer?
  15. Maybe it will just be branded as an "SRT" like the Viper is supposedly going to be. Fiat seems to want to kill the Dodge brand, the wackos.
  16. After taking a few more looks at this thing, there is a laundry list of stuff I don't like. Full - on Jeers.
  17. Well, how about my Corvette firing up and running after a 30 year sleep? "Ran when parked" is worlds better than "it died, so I parked it".
  18. This could be interesting!
  19. About how I see it. The phrase itself doesn't bother me. "Needs restored" , or any other such description, elicits an immediate comment of "moron" from me. At that point, I call into question the quality of any work done by the owner...
  20. Well, it wasn't a kit. I just discovered more bad parts as I went along and ended-up rebuilding the whole thing. If I had known so many parts were shot, I'd have bought a new one to begin with.
  21. Rebuilt the Tahoe distributor today. I think I'll put it back where it came from and let Mothertruck have its own distributor back. Pics:
  22. Follow the link and look at the mess in the trunk...
