  1. Thought-provocation is the name of the game. Zo6: Count on it.
  2. Criminal even. This is a lesson in what not to do to a survivor car. Huge chorus of raspberry-laden Jeers!
  3. I'm not so sure... At least the GTO seems to be gone - safe on that front.
  4. I've seen that one too - I'm a hopeless case.
  5. I'm dying to share some of the stuff that hasn't been online yet - but I can't. Thanks for the support - means alot.
  6. Thanks!
  7. As for the car itself, hate the woodgrain and the name. But the car is very clean and cruiseable: a qualified cheers.
  8. Yeah, this was an early example of GM mauling the brand (and then reversing themselves with the hasty badge job that was the Parisienne).
  9. It will be available on Amazon. I'll keep you posted. And, thanks guys.
  10. OK, I feel a bit odd making this post here, but you guys have been my friends for so long now that I had to let you know what's up. Later this year, I will be publishing a collection of my writings from about 1979 to the present. For a while now, I have been sifting through old notebooks, and boxes of papers to extract this stuff. The book will be composed of prose, poetry and song lyrics that have needed a mission for a very long time. I'll update you later as things progress.
  11. That's exactly what it was doing. This came to me in an e-mail chain from the vintage racing crowd and was accompanied by similar stories from those who passed it along. My favorite of those was a story from one of those guys about a time when he was dating the daughter of a fellow gearhead. It seems he arrived to pick her up with a low front tire, and asked the father if he had a compressor. The father then wheeled a large cart out of the garage with an old VW engine mounted on it. He explained that he'd needed a high-capacity air source for the work he was doing a while back and didn't have a compresor that could handle it. What he did have was this old VW engine laying around, so he converted one bank to pump air, and powered it with the other bank! No video of that, but oh so cool!
  12. Have the answers to this question changed for anyone?
  13. Each generation seems uglier than the last to me. The first one at least broke new ground, but it's been downhill ever since.
  14. "Demobot" and "Republirat" Kudos for these !
  15. Yeah, Chevy had both an extended cab and a crew cab available then, so why this? It also reminds me of the van/pickup mashups that were built for people to tow 5th wheel travel trailers, horse trailers, etc. As a kid I had a neighbor w/one,a Ford Econoline cut down maybe 3 feet behind the front doors, big side windows, and an F150 shortbed... At least those vans had a purpose - this thing not so much. And, I'd be quite worried about the structure on this. Fusing the cab and bed when they were designed to move independently gives me the willies.
  16. Happy belated, Mr. D.
  17. A bit weird and pointless if you ask me.
  18. The "buy it now" price is wishful thinking, watch the actual bids for reality. This may look bad, but it's actually quite solid and complete - a great resto candidate.
  19. http://bangshift.com/blog/neato-video-running-a-flathead-v8-without-a-cylinder-head.html
  20. If we change them...
  21. Among other things...
  22. This is nothing new, been this way for some time now. This society has forgotten how to dream.
  23. I think that the FWD vs. RWD thing will largely (if slowly) be rendered moot by an increasing presence of AWD. Transverse vs. longitudinal anyone?
  24. Hey Roger.... this is the one.
