  1. Hmmm... Not sure that I can wrap my head around this one.
  2. Noooooooo.... Must not look....
  3. I just had to go and click that link again. Car is still available.
  4. This is certainly true. When cars are designed as appliances, they will be seen as appliances - especially by the young.
  5. Even bigger than my '66 Dodge wagon - and in gorgeous shape with a great color. Cheers.
  6. "Sometimes circumstances get in the way of philosophy." This is quite possibly the most intelligent thing the man has ever said. If the rest of the politicians would learn this simple lesson, we'd all be better off.
  7. Seeing this place in person has always been at the top of my life list. Working there would be the best job on the planet - Hell, i'd be happy to rent a corner of the building and live there! Thanks for posting this, PCS.
  8. ...an expression of it.
  9. New shaft showed up today, I'll be back to this soon.
  10. I made that same decision long ago, Balthy. It is far more important to me that a car be enjoyable to drive than be fuel-efficient. When a car is capable and quick, a twisty back road on a sunny day is my idea of heaven. And as for the Camaro, the fact that it sells to hundreds of thousands is precisely why I don't want one. I practice what I preach when it comes to non-conformity.
  11. Yes. And, taking a drive just for its own sake...
  12. ...and conformity, and isolation, and a loss of privacy...
  13. The seller should share whatever it is he's smoking. JEERS!
  14. No it's not. Of course it is. It's always sad when a way of life dies, especially one that embodies a sense of freedom such as car ownership does. In this society, individuality itself is dying and the car is just a casualty. In times when you didn't have to mortgage your soul to own and operate a car, it was the ticket to independence and a step into adulthood, It was a rite of passage and a declaration free expression. A car empowered you. If losing that isn't sad, what is?
  15. +1 Have a great day!
  16. Me too, Horse.
  17. Yes, gas was that cheap. In the past. Not likely it's going to get that cheap again in the future. What is not understood is when there is a competition to the livelihood (dominance) of gas manufacturers, will they keep the future price at current level knowing the future will be in trouble? What makes these manufacturers drop the price down in the future to the ones in past? <cynical-realist> Competition. But that isn't likely to happen, as corrupt oil companies (and the politicians they own) actively work to prevent competition. Not to mention instability in the Middle East is always a constant threat to oil prices. </cynical-realist> And even more reasons to replace it.
  18. Yes, gas was that cheap. In the past. Not likely it's going to get that cheap again in the future. Thus the need to replace it.
  19. Well, it does have big bumpers - so maybe the nose is that big. I'll take another look next time it peeks out of the garage.
  20. And while we are on AMC wagons... Believe it or not, just down the street from me is a pristine example of one of these: It lives in a garage under a cover. It might be a different year as I don't think it has such a huge schnoz. It is also a nice dark green metallic with no woodgrain. Ya never know what people will preserve.
  21. They were much better-looking in the pre-Concord days.
  22. The whole notion is stupid - just the half-assed product of the inferior minds we send to congress.
  23. If I had the cash in my pocket, I'd go see this one. http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/2800168955.html
