Chevrolet Prepared to Unveil Three Minicar Concepts Next Week in New York
When I first saw it, I thought of this: I don't think the front end is terrible, and I actually think girls would find it cute, but the rest is blah.

NYIAS: 2008 Cadillac STS
I don't think many people cross-shop the CTS and DTS, and probably not even the STS and DTS that much. No one would buy a DTS if their looking for a sports sedan. The STS would be a possibility, though it has been rendered useless by the CTS.

NYIAS: 2008 Cadillac STS
I think these blind-spot warning systems are bad. People will start to get careless and pick up a habit of not being careful when changing lanes. Then they'll get in a car without the feature and have a wreck because they won't be used to checking their blind spot anymore.

NYIAS: 2008 Cadillac STS
The interior in general is not bad, but for the class it is at the bottom or near the bottom of the pack. The CTS's interior is world's better (though not world's better than the Chinese version). Which of these looks more expensive: Who buys an STS now unless it's for less than the CTS?

Chevrolet Prepared to Unveil Three Minicar Concepts Next Week in New York
Chevrolet Prepared to Unveil Three Minicar Concepts Next Week in New York The Chevrolet Trax is one of three Chevrolet minicar global concepts that General Motors will unveil at the New York International Auto Show on April 4. Designed to appeal to young car buyers in urban markets, these concepts will prove that art needn’t take a back seat just because the canvas is small. The highly creative concepts drive the energy, diversity and excitement of urban life into cars that deliver good-looking fun, fuel economy and value. After the April 4 unveiling, democracy lovers will get the chance to pick their favorite by visiting www.vote4chevrolet.com and cast their vote for the concept they prefer. The results will help Chevy determine U.S. market interest in the minicar segment, and which design resonates best with potential buyers. All three concepts were designed at GM’ s Design Studio in Incheon, South Korea, one of GM’s 11 Global Design Studios. Built on GM’s global mini architecture, they demonstrate the flexibility, creativity and innovative focus of design in GM’s Asia Pacific region. “These concepts highlight the strength and diversity of GM’s Global Design capabilities, as well as the ability of our Global Product Development team to anticipate and quickly meet the evolving needs of our diverse markets around the world,” said Ed Welburn, vice president, GM Global Design. The four-door Trax is powered by a 1-liter gasoline engine. The upper part of the exterior is bathed in Blaze Orange, while lower corner panels sport a Burnt Orange matte finish. The paint combination provides a look that reinforces the notion this Chevrolet is all business despite its small size.

Infiniti EX Concept
The front end works better here, but it looks like a direct copy of the G37's nose. A similar styling theme is fine, but this is worse than MB or BMW for how similar the nose is to the G37. A-pillar back it looks rather weird.

The UAW bargaining convention begins
With a quote like that, this is the thought I get: If the workers really think the automakers aren't in trouble, they're in for a wake up call when they no longer have a job. And, if the automakers do go under, many of them are apparently too dumb to be able to get another job (like this guy).

Everyone's talking Lambdas and T900s...
Your guess is as good as mine. It does get the V8 for the '08 MY (same as H3 Alpha), but I don't know about '10. It could be a diesel I suppose.

UAW doesn't rule out strike
The UAW members should be getting paid similar to what non-union auto workers get paid. Just because they are part of a union does not mean they should be getting paid the equivalent of $50/hr or whatever the ridiculous amount is when you factor in all the health care and such that is paid for them. They've been getting paid a pretty penny (for what they do, IMO) for many years, it's time they get paid what the normal going rate is for non-union workers. (Yes, I think I just stated the obvious)

NYIAS: 2008 Cadillac STS
Now the grill looks like the CTS's... again. The steering wheel is the same as the CTS's, same engine, transmission, a cheap-looking side vent, and some metal trim around the center stack. How exciting! Where's the China STS interior?

Dodge Ram Interstate Edition
The only thing I like about it is the Katzkin leather seats.

FIRST LOOK: 2008 Buick LaCrosse
A new grill doesn't make an outdated car competitive, even if it looks quite a bit better.

FIRST LOOK: Buick LaCrosse Super
Wow, it looks much, much better. The interior is improved as well, though it's not great. Too bad the changes aren't going to make it competitive; it should have looked like this when it debuted, not a year before it's gone.

FIRST LOOK: Buick Lucerne Super
The grill looks odd from some angles, but the interior looks impressive. Great door panels, and the "metal" (I assume it's fake) really helps to liven up the center stack.

I haven't been to Chanute in a while. I used to be up there nearly every day during golf season a couple years ago, played at Willow Pond on the base.- Went to a GTO get-together
It was in Champaign. Actually about 3 minutes from my house. - Confirmed NYIAS Debuts
