1967's didn't look like the one I posted, and '67-'72 were three-doors (no more two-doors).

As for the Lambdas, you won't find a GMC Acadia for under $31-$32K, and at that price you're looking at a base SLE FWD model. Same thing with the Chevy Traverse, but you may find some Saturn OUTLOOKs at $30K, if not slightly less (again, all cloth interiors with FWD). Trust me, I've been looking at them all down my end of the state.

The GMC Terrain won't be available until the fall, and I think they go into production in September (from what I've been told). The 2010 Chevy Equinox is on dealers lots now and you should be able to find them (atleast entry-level models). Just remember though that there are no incentives on these new CUVs right now. The G6 is no smaller than the Malibu or AURA. I've had the '04 Malibu and the G6 is longer than that; I believe that the new Malibu was put onto the G6/Malibu MAXX platform. The downside to the G6 is that the athletic design of the car leads to a slimmer trunk, though we fit plenty of stuff in ours with no problem. I understand that with Pontiac going away you may want to stay away from the brand, but ours has been bulletproof so far this past year and my dad's '06 G6 V6 Sedan has been very reliable & dependable the last three years. If you like the design and it offers the features and options you want, I'd consider it (plus you might get a better deal on them than a comparable Malibu). Same thing for the AURA, but I don't know how you feel about Saturn's future. Friends of ours just rented a new 2010 Ford Fusion this past week for a trip to Williamsburg, VA. They went from where I live in southern NJ to Williamsburg on half a tank of gas, getting between 33-35 MPG. They're big Ford fans and they own two 2005 Fords - he has a 500 Limted sedan and she has a Freestyle Limited AWD. They do a lot of highway driving to & from work and the 500 is up for replacement. She said they're going next week to look the new 2010 Fusion because of how much they liked it for the past week. I'm seeing a ton of the new '10 Fusions on the roads here in southern NJ. I'd still recommend a GM product though

Thanks for the update TED, and I hope you don't think I was being rude!

Will GM's incentvies increase in August??
GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in The Lounge
All I can say is that I'm really disappointed in the prices of new cars. I was willing to wait until the fall for a new 2010 GMC Terrain, but a decently optioned SLE-2 AWD V6 model will likely run me $30-$31K Right now I could get a 2009 Pontiac G8 V6 Sedan loaded for $30K and change, but like many others out there I need 72 months (6 years) to be able to afford the monthly payment. I'm not thrilled with anything small, and as much as I like the HHR, it's just not worth the money to me (I'd get tired of it very soon). I even began looking at leftover 2009 Pontiac Torrents, but the ones out there are very expensive (the way I want one equipped will run me GM Supplier Pricing $28-$30K - another ). I'm really mad I missed out on the 0% for 72 months deal at the beginning of this month - I might have been able to get away with the V6 G8. At this point I think I may just look for a cheap, older used car and hope/pray that it can last me a while so I can save up some extra $$$ for a down payment. Too bad I don't have a car that could get me the CARS incentive -
I'd say go for a Pontiac G8 V6 Sedan... last chance to get such a great Pontiac/car. Of course if you're alright with a Saturn, there are a ton of deals being made on AURAs right now. If you want to stay mainstream GM, then consider a Chevy Malibu (I personally like the 2LT with the 3.6L V6 Performance Package). I'd recommend a Pontiac G6 V6 Sedan too, as my wife likes hers and it has been offering a steady 26 MPG rating (she drives mostly highway to work (I-295 to I-95 to Route 1 North to Princeton). And the G6 is well-optioned: power/heated/leather seats, 6-disc CD radio, sunroof, chrome package, 3.5L V6, etc. As for trading in two vehicles, that's up to the dealer you're going with. When I sold new BPG's back in '99-'00 I had a customer trade in 3 cars for a new GMC Sierra (of course two of the three were going right to the junkyard!). You'll have to see how the CARS cash plays into it, and how the dealer wants to handle it. Good luck!!

While that Suburban was really nice, especially for a survivor, I'd go with a GMC pickup over anything else every time. And for those of you not knowing what ocnblu & Camino are talking about, here's the GMC Suburban at the All-GM Nationals in Carlisle:

Torrent - new rims & tires, tinted windows... am I close?? Glad to see you're staying busy gm4life. It helps to keep your sanity and you are definitely being productive! -
Does anyone have access to a manual or to an online web site that shows me how to remove the interior dome lamp from my wife's 2008 Pontiac G6 Sedan??

Here's where I disagree politely with you The 17" Hankook Optimo tires that are on my '07 AURA XE suck plain and simple. After the first 5,000 miles they have never offered any great wet or snow-weather traction since, they are currently at 39,xxx miles and should have been replaced around 33,000 miles, and my overall feeling is that I don't see any greatness in these tires/brand at all. I will make sure whatever new vehicle I purchase from GM does not have this brand of tires on them. The downside is that my wife's G6 has the same exact tires - she's at 16,xxx miles and I've begun to notice the loss of traction in wet weather the few times I've driven it in the rain. If I had the money now, I'd put the G6's Hankook tires on my leased AURA and buy a good set of Goodyear or Michelin tires for the G6. As it is right now, I'm going to have to budget some money before next summer to replace the Hankooks, assuming they wear out like the ones on my AURA (next summer the G6 should have 30,xxx+ miles on the odo). *And yes, I've routinely had the Hankooks on my AURA rotated at every other oil change - those crappy tires haven't benefitted at all from my money!!

I would have loved to take part in GM's 4th of July "0% for 72 Hours" sale event, but I was dealing with a more important issue (my dad's health). I honestly thought that the % for 72 months offer would have been extended after July 4 (like last year), but it wasn't. The current deal of 0% for 60 months is good and all, but I could benefit from the extra 12 month offer. Does anyone know how well GM sales are right now? I could patiently wait another 9-10 days until August rolls around if it means added incentives are given to teh buying public. Your input is appreciated.

*BUMP* I know you stated "soon" in your post TED, but I just don't want you forgetting about this thread

Well, the Auto Shopper website doesn't show the price, but another site I first saw the truck at had a price slightly at or above $10k. That's just way too out there for me now. I'll be lucky to hold onto the small amount of cash I had hidden away during this time of unemployment (first paycheck won't come to the 2nd week of September after I return to work on Sept 1). The truck isn't that far away from me (30-45 mins), so I will definitely try to get out there to see it in person soon.
-
Not seen in person (yet!), but I got yet another e-mail from another friend about this wonderful clasic '63 GMC for sale in the local Auto Shopper magazine: Autoshopper link here.

Some great shots you got there 66stang. Thanks for continuing to do this and posting them for us all to enjoy

Don't get me wrong ocnblu... there's nothing wrong with the regular cab and you get what you like/can afford regardless of what I or anyone else say. I'd be very happy with the extended cab Canyon if I was a single guy, and if I had a tonneau cover or cap on the bed the regular cab would be very useful too (truthfully, if I was a single guy I'd be toolin' around in a new Sierra regular cab 4WD, likely the longbed ). I can't wait to read the post that you ordered or found the truck you want - but in the meantime I'll still be praying that it ends up as a GMC!!
-
BTW, here's a picture of a 2004 GMC Canyon Regular Cab SL Shortbed with the Off-Road Package that I've always admired:
-
Sounds good ocnblu... but why are you changing from the extended cab to the regular cab?? I know you don't have a need to carry people back there (in the extended cab portion), but it does give you added interior space for small items you don't want rolling around in the bed. Trust me though, the regular cab look is awesome!!

You mean like this one: Spotted it at a local car show this past weekend. Pretty nice car, I think the first I've seen in this color (on a '68 - '69 A-body).

Within the last year I've begun taking pictures of dealership signs. This Olds sign is from Charles Oldsmobile-Cadillac in Britsol, PA. When Olds closed the Caddy business stayed open, but I don't know for how long. I know that the Caddy business hasn't been in operation since 2007 the earliest, atleast that's when I went by there to see what cars they had for sale and noticed it was closed. When I took this picture last September (the Caddy sign was no where to be seen), the dealership was in the process of being transformed into an Amish market. I have not been in that part of town in a while, so I have no idea if the sign is still there or if its been removed.

2008 Pontiac G6 summer clean-up
GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in Member's Rides Showcase
I finally made the time to go out and get some more pictures of the G6 (rain is predicted for the remainder of the week, so it was today or no other time rain-free). Knowing that many would not be interested in all of the shots I took, here are the six I like best: Enjoy!! -
While watching the Jimmy Fallon Late Show tonight, there was a pretty well-known actor that stated he provides the voice-over of the GMC tagline "GMC Trucks - We Are Professional Grade". Who is this actor???
