On my vacation last week, I did see a fair number of EVs out and about, most on the freeways and near the freeways. Saw a couple Polestar 2s, a couple EV6 and Ionic 5s, the usual Teslas (my hotel in Erie had 6 superchargers in the lot, saw one Model S charging up)., a couple Bolts, one Lucid Air (first I'd seen in person, pretty slick). Once I got out into the backroads and wilds of PA, though, it was mostly all trucks, SUVs, and Camrys. Did see a very nice green/white late 70s K5 Blazer...

On vacation this week, rambling around NE Ohio, Western PA and Western NY. In Erie PA today, off to Lake Chautauqua and Jamestown, NY tomorrow, then the Allegheny National Forest and down to Pittsburgh Friday. Been rainy the last few days, but clearing today. Saw a few 30s Ford hot rods on Sunday, a clean ‘64 Corvette convertible today, a bright blue and a gray C8 today. Trying to relax and not think about work and real life and enjoy some hiking and beach time. Though I did bring my laptop just in case.

Nice weather today. Went to the beach and saw a lot of Corvettes out and about, incl 3 C8s. The oldest I saw was this ‘68 convertible. snd

I'm sticking with my 2020 iPhone SE, even though the battery life is not good. I don't need face id, and I don't like the large form factor of the regular and Max iPhones. A small phone that fits in my pocket is fine for me.

Went to two concerts this weekend--The Fixx Friday night in Kent, and Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band in Pittsburgh last night. Great shows...lots of songs I grew up listening to in the 80s... Starr's band included Steve Luthaker of Toto (did 'Rosanna', 'Africa', 'All the Way'), Colin Hay of Men at Work (did 'Down Under, Overkill, Who Can it Be Now'), Edgar Winter, and others....lots of fun... lots of driving also. The gridlocked traffic after the show getting out of downtown Pittsburgh was tedious last night.

Haven't seen in that green...sharp. The Stinger is a good looking car...neighbor down the street has a battleship gray one w/ black wheels.

And note that they made both 4dr sedans and 4dr hardtops (like the blue Cutlass) in each of the 4 lines from '66-72 (the 4dr ht was added in '66). Pretty rare to see any of them today. That '71-72 Skylark looks familiar--when I was a kid circa 75-78 my next-door neighbor had a blue '71-72 Skylark 4dr sedan, and got a blue w/ white top '76 Regal. Both in a shade similar to that blue Cutlass. This '66 LeMans 4dr ht is clean...

Buick News: Buick Introduces All-New Envista Compact SUV in China
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Buick
I'm sure it would sell well here in the US...Americans love this generic CUV $h! as much as China.. Interesting that of the top 10 brands in China only 3 are home-grown brands.. -

Just another generic CUV appliance..nothing special. -
^ early 50s something...so many cars looked so similar then, esp. from behind. A bit of googling leads me to believe it is a '50-51 Buick. A marque that had a very distinctive front end, but not so distinctive rear.

Taking it easy going to the weekend...doing some grilling and working w/ my laptop on the patio...looking forward to some rest and some beach time this weekend.

Will be getting my annual flu shot this month. Got my #2 booster of Pfizer for C19 a month or so ago.

Saw a pale blue MGA roadster, a clean medium blue ‘68 Mustang fastback, and a seriously rusted 2nd Gen Avalanche. The Av was black, paint was shiny and looked good on the hood and upper areas, but the front and rear fender arches and lower doors were crumbly and rusty, with fist-sized holes.

A buddy of min in AZ has 3 Land Cruisers--all bought used w/ high mileage..a mid '70s 2dr FJ40, an '84 FJ 60, and a '90s FJ 80. A few years ago when he was having trouble passing emissions tests w/ the '84 (finicky tuning), he took it to a shop in Seattle that retrofitted it with a GM LS e-rod crate engine... been very happy with it since then, takes it off roading and camping a lot in AZ. -
Minor issue--reaction icon images not showing
Robert Hall replied to Robert Hall's topic in Site News and Feedback
I see them now...woo hoo -
I noticed over the weekend that the reaction icons (like, agree, sad, etc) aren't rendering on Safari on my Mac or iPhone..not sure how it's showing on Chrome or other browsers.

I’ve been happy with the Michelin Defenders on my JGC. Almost 5 years and 35k on them. I wasn’t aware of a polio booster, will have to look into that. My childhood vaccinations were probably 50 years ago or more.

Sounds you had a great vacation. I’ve been to Hawaii a couple of times, only to Oahu. Definitely want to go back and explore the other islands. I thought I saw a couple threads on here about the Charger EV concept a few days ago. I like it a lot, have watched a few videos about and read stuff on all the usual sites. Looking forward to seeing the production model.

^ I like the CTS coupe and the Le Sabre...nice to see an 80s B-body in good shape. Don't see many around here that aren't worn out and rusty.

^ it's definitely a gamble..

Dodge News: The 2023 Dodge Hornet Flies Out Of The Hive

It definitely looks like they changed very little behind the front fascia. I guess it gives them something in the compact CUV market, after the demise of the ancient Journey. At least w/ the Dart, while it was on a Fiat/Alfa platform, there wasn't a Fiat or Alfa model in the US market with the same panels. The Alfa Tonale is going to be sold in the US. Kind of like how back in the 70s-90s Dodge and Plymouth had many cloned models with little brand differentiation...
