  1. I could deal w/ that also...been there, love them.. and they have diesel Grand Cherokees in Europe...
  2. I'd love to disappear to the Scottish Highlands or the Alps. Lake Maggiore on the Swiss-Italian border would be such place (was there in 2004).
  3. ^neat bikes..my brother had a Norton and a Triumph in the 70s...the Norton was dark blue IIRC. When he got back into bikes about 20 years ago, he switched to Japanese marques--has 2 Kawasakis, 2 Yamahas and a Honda now...all 80s vintage.
  4. A non-Chevy project I'd love to do would be to take an older Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer (70s-80s vintage) and update w/ a modern Hemi (not a Hellcat, a 5.7 would be sufficient), 8spd auto, updated suspension, light off roading capability, modern GC seats and interior upgrades... Basically a similar kind of project that my buddy in AZ did with his '84 FJ 60 Land Cruiser--he put in a GM E-Rod crate LS, suspension upgrades for off roading, Lexus LX seats, etc... he'd had it for 25 years and done a lot of off-roading, but got tired of the fiddly carburetor and timing settings every two years to pass emissions tests...
  5. ^ Wild..looks like it started as an early 70s Citroen DS Safari wagon and was stretched and widened..
  6. Blue skies, no clouds, some fall color remains. Supposed to be dry, sunny and in the 60s the rest of the week. Nice change from the cool, rainy gray weather of the last week.
  7. There is a problem in the US with religious fanatics (such as the Dominionists) that want to do away with the separation of church and state and impose their views on the rest of society. These people would prefer the US be a Christian theocracy rather than a representative democracy. They have worked for decades to get their people elected at all levels of government and now have the Supreme Court infested with their filth.
  8. Could make a cool hot rod... a one seater pickup thingy...found pics of one..neat, funky little truck
  9. I think if EVs (BEVs) with a decent range are available in the $25-45k range---which is where a typical vehicle is today at the heart of the market---and comparable in size and features to a typical Corolla, Camry, Rav4, Highlander, etc---and look like a typical mainstream vehicle---not a tiny potato on wheels-- then they may take off.... The only things available new for $15k are horrid subcompacts for which a 5 yr old used car would be infinitely preferable.
  10. Haven't seen a dustbuster van in ages...I remember the product placement they did in the movie 'Get Shorty' when John Travolta's character drove one, and boasted it was the 'Cadillac of minivans'...
  11. One odd thing I've noticed since the site update is on mobile (iPhone w/ Safari) when I go to the site every post shown is from May 25, 2015. When I go to the site on my laptop (Mac, Safari) the latest posts are showing instead.
  12. One of these Turbo Centurys restomodded with a Grand National or GNX drivetrain would be interesting, something different from the same ol', same ol'.. Of those early turbo Buicks, the one I like is the Le Sabre Turbo Sport Coupe.
  13. Instead of autonomous race cars, I think the future could be remote controlled race cars..drivers sit in simulators and control the cars on track..would be safer for drivers, and likely no different from how it is today since you really can't see much of the driver besides a colorful helmet in the cockpit...
  14. Strange times.. I bought gas last Friday for maybe the 3rd time since January.
  15. They were certainly different...can't recall the last time I've seen one. Unusual decklid shape. Too bad they weren't hatchbacks.
  16. That's such a Scottsdale car..saw many Bentley convertibles there, usually in the tired white w/ black wheels. The current gen of Bentley Continental GT has a rear quarter shape that reminds me of the old Karmann-Ghia...given that Bentley is a VAG brand, it may not just be coincidence...one of those weird details that once you see you can't unsee....the modern Bentleys do have great interiors...I think the 2dr ht looks good in dark greens.
  17. My little gray LX served me well for 6 years in NE Ohio until I moved to Ann Arbor, MI in '94 where it got totaled 2 weeks after I moved there for grad school. This is the only digital pic I seem to have of it, parked w/ my '87 GT on the farm around June 1990. Interesting article about the Iron Duke Camaro... https://jalopnik.com/chevrolets-first-four-cylinder-camaro-was-really-bad-1825128229
  18. The Infiniti FX? I liked those...distinctive styling, not the usual SUV box.
  19. Sheeple (the manipulated)
  20. The truck is probably just an appliance to them...most drivers don't know what is under the hood---just a power unit for their appliance.
  21. I'm pretty sure the only GM models sold by GM in Australia in the 80s were Holdens. Anything else would have been a one-off. And the Firebird was never available in RHD from the factory, so this was something custom. A 4 cyl w/ an automatic in something that big and heavy would have been miserable, even in the early 80s, I suspect---like 20 second 0-60 times... maybe it was an Aussie Knight Rider fan on a budget.
  22. I had an ‘86 Mustang LX 2.3 in college, at least it had a manual (though only a 4spd). At least it was light enough to get out of its own way. My 5.0 GT was more fun to drive.
  23. Tzus are nice. At some point, I'd like to have a West Highland White Terrier (Westie) again or an Australian Terrier again...have had them in the past, love their personalities and temperament. Westies are calmer than Aussies, the 3 Aussies we've had tended to be bipolar...sweet and loving one moment, bitey and ferocious the next.
  24. Really odd someone would go to the trouble to import and convert to RHD a 4cyl Firebird...maybe a V8 Trans Am, Formula or GTA of that generation, but a 4cyl? Those things were 90-hp turds...
  25. Yes! I was looking at pics of it last night, I like the styling inside and out... very sharp and unique. A bit of randomness..my father would have been 99 today.
