  1. I'm not a fan of the G6 convertible's looks either, I think the Sebring looks better, but both cars aren't gonna sell on looks alone IMO.
  2. Wow, pretty dumb IMO. I wonder how many people are told to buy Goodyear Eagle F1 tires and wind up with completely different tires than they think they are getting...?
  3. You danged Aussies get all the cool stuff! Killer lookin utes, sure would like to see those sold here!

    New car fever

My wife just bought a Dodge Magnum R/T, and though I was a bit hesitant at first after 18,000K I can truly say I am TOTALLY impressed. Worth every penny.
  5. Are you talking about different compounds but the same tire? I was referring to your claim that Eagle F1's aren't an "OEM" tire. Which I'm pretty sure they are.
  6. Mine wasn't "bad", but it lacked power for sure, and didn't get very good gas mileage for a V6. Other trucks at our work got better gas mileage and had more power with V8s. My 4.8 V8 work van gets better gas mileage than my 4.3 V6 truck did.
  7. Corner better than the 396 sure, but the 302 was no match for the 396 car in a straight line.
  8. I guess Chevrolet also takes exception to treadwear requirements in search of performance. Both the Corvette and Corvette Z06 was supplied with Goodyear Eagle F1s, were they not?
  9. I just did a google search, it appears up until 1999 even the Sliverado DID have the 4.3 V6 as an engine option.
  10. ummmm I bought a WORK TRUCK not a Silverado! LOL 3/4 ton long box 4.3 V6 automatic with A/C. I know I did. LOL It wasn't a 2007, I'm talking 10+ years ago.
  11. That's what I would like to see. Not an added rear spoiler...
  12. Yeah, I see new Toyotas a little TOO often now too. LOL I'm not in love with the Tundra's styling either, but I'm sure the brainwashed masses will drop their Consumer's Reports magazines while on the toilet and run to dealerships in droves. My Chevy Express van has black bumpers, but I don't know about the pickup trucks..
  13. I coulda sworn the SRT8 Mopars- both the Chryslers and the Dodges- used 245/45/20 (front) and 255/45/20 (rear) Goodyear Eagle F1s as the stock tires?
  14. 70-72? I had a 1972 Nova once.... no pictures of it though! Nice project, my buddy is building a 69 Nova. Lookin good!
  15. Looks good! You gotta be pumped! Where's the necessary pics of your car?
  16. Not sure where you live, but I see Toyota trucks all the time, all over the place, construction sites are full of them lately. I hope it's not a "laugh Sunday, buy on Monday" scenario....
  17. BLASPHEMY!!!!!
  18. What am I missing? NEXT year's Vette looks alot like LAST year's Vette. Time for a radical change IMO. Make the LOOKS more inline with the PERFORMANCE?
  19. Hey Daves87rs... any way to see if these TSBs also apply to my truck? The TSBs are for a "2004" Chevrolet van, mine is a 2006. TSB Bulletin #:00702 Description: SLIP CONDITION IN 2ND, 3RD OR 4TH DAMAGED 2-4 BAND 3-4 CLUTCH ON THE 4L60E/4L65E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. *TT *MJ TSB Bulletin #:050730013 Description: 4L60-E/4L65-E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SECOND GEAR START, LACK/LOSS OF POWER WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. *TT TSB Bulletin #:01432 Description: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION POOR ACCELERATION, PERFORMANCE. *TT TSB Bulletin #:01599 Description: 4L60E, 4L65E FORWARD AND LOW REVERSE WAVED STEEL CLUTCH PLATE APPEARANCE CHANGE. *TT TSB Bulletin #:01654 Description: SQUAWK OR GRUNT NOISE THAT OCCURS ON THE 2-3 UPSHIFT ON VEHICLES WITH 4L60E - M30, 4L60E M32 TRANSMISSION. *TT TSB Bulletin #:010730038B Description: THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LAMP IS ILLUMINATED, NO 3RD AND 4TH GEAR, THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY, THE TRANSMISSION FEELS LIKE IT SHIFTS TO NEUTRAL OR A LOSS OF DRIVE OCCURS. *TT TSB Bulletin #:3002 Description: 4L60E/4L65E INTERMITTENT NEUTRAL CONDITION WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP OR WHILE DRIVING. *TT 1999-2006 GM CARS, LIGHT DUTY TRUCKS AND UTILITIES. *TT These are for a 2004, mine is a 2006. There are other tranny TSBs for the 2004, but none that apply to me. Can I just give a dealership my VIN number and see if any of these have any significance?
  20. I know, I'm waiting for a look at my 2006 Chevy Express- the tranny seems like it is slipping... is there a TSB on them, any idea?
  21. It's not a "sale", just a proposal. GM and Ford gave up their own transporting years ago, did they not? It only makes sense, even if done many years after the others abandoned their respective transport ships.... I think they are probably trying to get out of under the union's thumbs a bit.
  22. I wish I saw this thread earlier, but all turned out well IMO, you made the best choice. I bought a new long box Chevy 3/4 ton regular cab truck with a 4.3V6 and A/C. It was very underpowered IMO. It wasn't tremendously good on gas either. My new 4.8 V8 van isn't a real screamer, but it feels more powerful despite my tranny acting funny. I hope to have it fixed and see what it drives like. It's already better fuel mileage than the 4.3, and I think my torque converter is bad. That says something!
  23. They sell quite a few Smart cars in Canada.
  24. 2006 Chevy van with a 4.8 auto. The tranny feels like the converter is slipping badly. The truck has 25,000K on it. It has a "towing" button on the dash, when the tranny slips the worst it seems to work like it should. When the tranny feels like the converter is slipping as it usually does it doesn't seem to do anything, button in or out. I do NOT tow with it, and I already checked the fluid, the level is up but it doesn't smell like I'm used to. Doesn't smell "right", but doesn't smell "burnt" either. Is there any techs here? I'm looking for any possible TSB's etc...
  25. I woulda give sixty8 a REAL 1960 Buick 2 door hardtop we had, my brother ended up throwing it out. Original owner, low mileage car too! Had power windows and an anthill in the rockers... LOL
