  1. I know it's hard to stay away from politics in a thread like this, but we've tiptoed over the line twice already..... lets back it up and discuss the merits of this story.
  2. for me, the Cadillac XTS apparently....
  3. and China will eat it up
  4. thanks guys
  5. If they want a high tech luxury car shouldn't they be buying an S-class? Sure, because they have an extra $30k to blow on a car and not think anything of it..... This isn't Cadillac's S-Class competitor.
  6. It's not an intervention if companies can opt in or opt out.
  7. I'm sure there are plenty of times you don't need the full power and capability of the Duramax but still need to haul something.
  8. I did, as they cited a 4-speed Auto as a primary feature on the Mediocrity yet at the time, in 50% of their cars the automatics were.... 4-speed
  9. You aren't the target market anyway. The XTS is going to be more for people who like high tech electronics in their cars
  10. Anyone still having doubts as to what type of powertrain will be offered in the XTS? I think it coming out as a plug-in 2-mode hybrid V6 is extremely likely
  11. No, I like those Marlins.
  12. that's just mean
  13. Edit: No you're right, that CUE pic I posted must be XTS. I didn't look through our own gallery close enough. They did show CUE with a SRX in the flesh, but they must have included some CGI of the XTS also. Here is CUE in the SRX. The full Cadillac CUE album
  14. I'd say not. It was in an SRX. But I wouldn't be surprised to see the major components of that dash end up debuting in the XTS.
  15. The seller is right about the fuel economy, 25-27mpg wasn't impossible if you were being gentle on it. And they could move at a fairly decent clip too. Mine had CFI fuel injection. This one, being an '86, would have TPI instead which I believe gave it a slight bump in power.
  16. The Sterling 800 - all of the styling prowess of late 80's Honda plus all of the reliability of fine British engineering with a dash of Lucas Electronics for that added bit of flavor and topped with a timing belt driven interference V6. but when they ran... they were a rather sumptuous ride similar to what a '89 Eighty Eight might deliver but without the body roll.
  17. The Turbo-Eco has more torque available at a lower RPM across the entire powerband when compared to a Northstar.... so, you're right, they handle the power output differently. The Turbo-Eco does it in a calmer manner.
  18. for those of us not familiar with old FoMoCo's what are they based on?
  19. Probably a good thing that Civic inventory is down to near zero. They've fallen behind pretty badly with the latest re-design and are now second tier to Chevy, Hyundai, Ford, VW, and Mazda. Look at that list and think about this, Toyota, Honda, and Nissan are all behind them in popular opinion and you realize how upside down the world has gotten in just a few years.
  20. No pedal. It is electric set and release. That is how it is set up today, but the button is on the center console
  21. Accidentally ran a red light due to some rather snarled downtown Pittsburgh traffic. Was trying to get through, but hadn't realized that while trying to get around this idiot making a right hand turn from the left hand lane that the light had since changed
  22. The XTS vent won't carry over directly. Look at the SRX vent for the likely result. Also just noticed, the parking brake button is now on the driver's left.... interesting location move.
