  1. You didn't. I was just up since 4:30am yesterday and had a very busy day at work. The few posts I made on here last night were barely coherent. (not that you'd notice a difference)
  2. No rattles and road noise is well muted. On the highway, it's just another mid-size family car, so that could be a good thing or bad thing depending on your point of view. One thing I didn't like about the seat control is that there is no control of seat bottom tilt, but if you raise seat up, it feels like it is tilting you forward in the process. Seat back control is very difficult to reach.
  3. just worry about it tomoorrw
  4. The LFX seems to be soft on torque down low in the rpm band and even at peak doesn't seem to match the BMW.
  5. I believe the 3.0 is more likely
  6. sorry man, it's been a hell of a day for me. let me see what I have here.
  7. well if that's the case, there's gonna need to be another engine above it to take on the 335 in torque.
  8. as we know it today
  9. The Overhead Valve, Pushrod V8 we know today is actually newer technology than an Over Head Cam V8. and I certainly wouldn't consider the Ford 4.6 modular to be more modern than any of the recent GM Small blocks. In fact, it was never really able to beat out even the LT-1 in performance from the factory.
  10. If Hyundai can design and build a DOHC V8 from scratch, then I am sure Cadillac can also. They did it for about 90 years, I'm sure they can do it again. Hyundai is also not coming out of chapter 11 in need to revamp several divisions and with no current V8 design to put into production. At some point the bankruptcy excuse isn't going to be valid anymore.... Engines aren't just an app you can download on your smartphone for a dollar. They take years and years of development work.
  11. I didn't realize until now how thin the Chrysler brand cars were getting. 200, 300, T&C..... that's the lineup. Jeep now has more models than Chrysler brand.
  12. the first or their first?
  13. Well take away the Crown Vic and Ford brand cars are actually up. This time last year the Crown Vic was fleet only, so I'm not sure it's fair to count it. Still, how did the Focus tank that hard? Still some supply issues?
  14. The only Volt fire (caused by the batteries and not some home grown Suzuki Electric parked next to it) has been during NHTSA testing.
  15. and there goes Lincoln..... The MKS and Z are simply not going to be enough to sustain this brand

  17. Toyota - thousands of reports of stuck pedals, months years of stall tactics, blaming the victim, hiding information, zip tying floor mats... GM - single car that was wrecked in a test catches fire 3 weeks after the test with two out of three subsequent tests designed to have the same effect producing a "thermal event" and GM looks likely to have a solution out in mere weeks.
  18. Who lit the fire under the 6?
  19. Wow! Look at the Optima!
  20. GM just torpedoed this plan too.
  21. My time with the Jetta GLI is coming to an end. The car has plenty of pull up to the highway legal speed limits in this area, but after that, the wind goes out of the sails. The handling is also not what I would expect of a car wearing the GLI badge. It's better than a Cruze or Civic to be sure, but not by enough to warrant the GLI designation. The car handles at what I would expect a base Jetta to handle if this were 2004. Tomorrow we'll switch into something bigger and softer, so get any last minute questions in about the 2012 Volkswagen Jetta GLI
  22. What makes it interesting is that the diesel A6 is being delayed http://www.cheersandgears.com/page/index.html/_/articles/audi-news/audi-delaying-a6-diesel-a6-and-a8-hybrids-r107
  23. Kind of a no brainer.... and a good move IMHO
  24. Gearing up for an explosion of Impreza sales.
